Blah...
Gwah. I just finished my latest project for school, which is due tomorrow afternoon. And I tell you...it was one of the least enjoyable projects I've ever done.
We had to take a household object and illustrate it four times. Two pictures had to be of the object as it is...from two angles. The other two pictures were of the object in a deformed state...so, old/crushed/etc. And finally, we had to make an illustration that combines two of those pictures into one.
So, I just did a condensed milk can. Pretty easy. But still...I just found the whole exercise annoying and pointless. I don't know...I've had a couple of projects like this now. The brief seems to emphasize the use of a creative frame or something, moreso than focusing on the art. I also decided not to use any colour -- I just used a combination of pencil and charcoal. I'm sure that everyone else will have done theirs in colour, looking lovely. While mine will be all dark and twisted. lol
Oh well. I almost feel like my drawing has been getting worse. Either that, or I simply can't draw geometric objects. I'm good with life drawing and freehand work...but not with technical drawing. As a result, this can has been drawn as one would draw a human figure with charcoal. So it probably looks too messy and untidy for the purposes of the class.
But still, the brief did not specify that we had to use colour or anything. So screw it. If the tutor complains, I'll just point him to his own brief. Blarg.
