The Lon Lon Abattoir.

I mentioned E3 a couple of posts ago, and I also mentioned that I'd talk about N-Sider a little bit more.

Actually, this post really has two subjects. The first relates to a slight redesign of N-Sider that I'm going to be doing. It's not a redesign so much in terms of raw aesthetics...it's more a redesign in terms of improving navigation throughout the site. Cory and I (Cory is the Site Manager) are working on it together, so that should be fun.

Today was also my first opportunity to talk to Cory post-E3. That was great. We had a good discussion about Nintendo DS and various other stuff that was shown. The N-Sider E3 DVD is going to be very cool this year. I'd buy one myself if PayPal worked with local savings accounts. ~_^

In any case, I'm really encouraging the site's management to get in gear and organize various procedures a little better. It's a long story, but things are running a bit too inefficiently right now. Cory and I are going to go through a step-by-step process to address every issue. The end result should be an even happier site, I think.

Talking about efficiency, I've been discussing a change relating to OB with Charles today. I don't want to mention it here just yet, because it still has to be discussed by staff. I'll probably talk about it here in the near future.

OtakuBoards is hopefully going to be the recipient of some cool upgrades too, as soon as I'm able to get a few things pushed off my plate to actually work on 'em. One of the more significant new OB updates has been ready and waiting for a while, but it requires a coinciding design change to accommodate it. Hopefully that can be sorted out soon.

On another note, I've been talking a lot about RPGs lately. Yesterday I was talking to Desbreko-san about Zelda RPGs. We both pretty much concluded that there have been quite a few of them over the years, created by various people. But we also both agreed that, instead of making seperate Zelda RPGs, we should all get together and make one large uber-Zelda RPG. Something that really brings together the talents of those creating it. I think it's an interesting idea. But I know that my time will be booked up for a while, with Kill Adam 2 and so on.

I also mentioned an RPG idea to Debbie, something that I've been thinking of doing for a while. But really, I haven't actually sat down and started writing it.

The idea essentially revolves around Zelda itself, or should I say, my own interpretation of Zelda. The story would be different from what you see in the Zelda games -- primarily, various elements of Zelda would be borrowed and used in the story.

The idea is basically to do a very dark and adult version of Zelda. So, I said to Des, maybe fairies are not benevolent and cute creatures. Maybe they're violent creatures that prey on people who get lost in the forest. And maybe Lon Lon Ranch could be turned into an abattoir, rather than a ranch. See what I mean?

The idea is actually semi-inspired by American McGee's Alice. You know, like a mirror image on the original story. Again, I'm thinking of what would happen if you combined Kill Bill and Zelda with Silent Hill or something, at least in terms of style.

Anyway, I don't know if anyone has an interest in doing something like that. I understand that it's quite a big stretch in some regards. But I find it oddly intriguing, even as a big Zelda fan (especially as a big Zelda fan). Maybe you can give me your thoughts.
