   Echo

Okay, i´ve decided to write a story. It´s gonna be in chapters and even the chapters will be in chapters, so that it´ll hopefully fit on the site. Now, some of you might notice that your name will be used for some of the characters, and i just thought that it might be fun, course then you might be able to feel with the character named after you. Please don´t feel offended if your name wont appear just yet, many of my friends names will appear throughout the series, they don´t totally match your personalities, although you might find a small resemblens, and smaller roles doesn´t mean i like you less, there just ain´t enough big characters for eveybody. So, please enjoy! ^^

Echo
Chapter One part 1. -
Echoing Lives

The loud rumblings of the crowd of spectators sounds through the six hundred years old stones, making the walls look like they are trembling in fear of falling apart. Only a single candle lights up the small room, standing on a small wooden table with a small chair beside it. There are no windows, and besides the table and chair, there are only a steel door at the western wall and a air canal in the ceiling, that leads up to Valsh Forest, but it’s too deep for the sunlight to reach in. Papers with pentagrams and Celtic symbols, lay spread out on the dusty table, and on the chair sits a girl. By her looks you’d think she is only 14-15 years old, but she has actually seen many more winters and summers than that. She’s wearing light armour clothes, shoulders and thighs protected by light shields of Magma Lizard scales, all of it coloured red and orange. Her long, red hair falls down before her eyes every time she looks from the candle and down on the papers again, and she sweeps it away every time she has to look back up into the petit flame. After repeating this procedure what seems like a hundred times, she finally leans back on the chair, letting out a deep sigh that echoes between the cold walls. She looks up at the ceiling, watching small fractions of rubble falling down because of the ruckus from the stadium. Sighing ones again, she lifts a finger and points at the candle flame. "Erupto", she mutters in a sleepy voice. A small, orange rite appears in the air at her fingertip and in the same second, the candle flame bursts into a 2 meters high flame, licking the ceiling stones and quickly melting the candle away. The flame dies out almost as quick as it came. She smiles, both tired and relieved, her studies finally paid off. "Seems you have been studying quite a lot my love...!" Hearing the voice, she jumps up with a scream, knocking away the chair and with lightening reflexes draws a flaming pentagram in the air with her index-finger, readying a spell for what ever might be lurking in the shadows. *Who... who’s there?!” she yells into the darkness. With the light gone, her eyes have to get used to the dark fast, or she will be an easy target. Sounds of footsteps echo towards her as the voice speaks again; "what’s wrong Phoenix? Can’t recognize your captain’s voice, you’ve only been down here for about a week." Recognizing the voice, she immediately dispels her spell and lets out a girly scream. "Ryuka! You’ve come back for me!" She leads a hand out into the dark and feels after him. A big hand wearing a leather glove takes her hand and pulls her in, arms folds around her, hugging her tight, and for the first time in days she feels happy and safe. They stand there in silence for what seems like an hour, simply holding each other tight, feeling each others warmth. Finally he speaks; "Come Phoenix... it’s finally time for you to show them your true strength!" Her eyes having gotten used to the dark looks up into his. "Yes, it’s time... but please dear Ryuka, call me by my name. Call me Sita." "As you wish...” he says, smiling behind the garments robed around his neck and shoulders. Walking hand in hand, they walk to the door and as he opens it, a strong light flashes into the room, bathing everything in sunlight. She shields her eyes with an arm for a second, but quickly gets used to the warm light. As they walk out, letting the door stay open behind them, the sound of yelling and cheering grows in volume, as they walk down a bright corridor and at last walks out in the open arena, the man staying in the opening shadow. The gigantic arena is enclosed by tribunes, filled with spectators cheering for the new warrior, known as lover and the favourite apprentice of The Blue Behemoth, Ryuka. Her name is yet unknown, but soon she will be the new Dragonblood champion. With this in her thoughts, she calmly sets her shields straight and looks with a smile into the burning sun in the blue sky.
