Fun!
okay...
i have to adress this.
"Elfen Lied would have been good without all the blood, gore, and nudity."
i'm sorry, i like ya girl, but saying that is like Chobits would have been good without all the love and drama, or that Excel Saga would be great without the random comedy.
the WHOLE POINT, and i do mean the whole point, of that series is the viloence and nudity. i mean thats the entire first episode! Lucy killing people naked. i mean lets examine that claim.
it was also said that the plot was good, and the character design was good.
okay, the plot.
the plot that involves a boy wanting to screw his cousin, suffering from repressed memories from watching his family get slaughtered right before him, then falls in love with this girl while she is so retarded she makes Chii look like Little Washu, and upon learning this retard killed his family, he proceeds to chastise, then make out with her.
Lucy kills people just so she can survive, to take their stuff. when we see from Nana thay vectors can easily just knock opponents out. also, the fact that she for no apparent reason while still innocent and cute trys to strangle Kouta while deep in thought, yet after she has slaughtered not only his family, but tons of other people, she is apathetic and seemingly just kind of a mean person, and even speaks nicely to Nana. Lucy kills people who try to help her when she is young, without them even threatening her, yet she doesn't hurt Kouta, even when he hits her. She is so angered by him betraying her that she kills everyone in sight, except him.
Mariko kills the only person to only show her compassion without a single care, but upon seeinh her father who not only never payed any attention to her, but experimented on her and tried to kill her, she is like a cute little puppy. how does she even know its her dad, she never saw him, he doesn't look like her, and her mom was the carrier so its not that she is sencing the vector virus.
What ever happens to Bando? i really want to know.

alsom if there was no violence, then Kouta would never have repressed memories, so why would he be such a drama queen. the diclonii wouldn't kill or be tortured, so they would have no deep back story. Nana wouldn't be such a uplifting success story, losing all her limbs and still moving on. if those fucked up little pricks never killed the puppy Lucy wouldn't have come up with her "kill all liars," mentality, would have never killed Kouta's family, and there would have never been a touching/poorly written kiss scene at the end. the violence was the point of the story, it was so integral its inseparable.
and the nudity is fan service, and to express a more creepy thing, sexy naked girls killing people, sexy mixed with violence.

okay enough of that, i think i stated my point, and i really don't like devoting so much post to Elfen Lied.

okay, i've started playing shining Tears again. i have to say, it is a very poorly written game. but for some reason i enjoy it.

first off i don't think they have Speel Check. Priestesses are afeared that demons will kill them, and magik, magick, majik, and majick abound. Mao meets her father, and only then tells of how she has wanted to kill him since she was little. there was never a "i'm looking for someone." or "i betrayed you to get revenge against me damned father." you don't know one damn thing about her past, except she knew Volg until we get her whole ambition in life.
i'm sorry, i love Mao, i meam how can you not like a neko-kunoichi, who dresses all in pink, and speaks like Keanu Reeves or Matt Hill.
"Wow, the war is like totally over! Awesome!"
but god is the plot of this game crappily written.
"we've defeated the evil guy, but there is an evil demon below that feeds on pain, so lets beat the shit out of everypne to find out how to kill it!"
or the fact the weapons never change, part of the fun of RPGs is seeing how each weapon looks, no such fun here.
also, you always have to play as Xion, he's the only character you ever control, its kinda lame.
but none the less its a pretty good game,
and cheap as hell.
truely a game for cheap bastards.
