Questions O Questions!

Magnus Lensherr: What happened in the montht hat i was away that meant your posts turned from being all about love to becoming what they are now?
There have been some developements, and the situation has changed, these posts now reflect a different side of me, the side and situation that inspired the posts of old are still active, and will be back in the spot light in the future, though the exact date is unknown.

Pleiades Rising: [this whole comment is beautiful] Having not seen Elfen Lied, I can't really form a proper comment regarding it. From what I can infer, the sheer violence and nudity are two ends up the spectrum. Beauty of the physical form, and the absolute terror of of seeing these forms torn apart. This is a very basic, and oversimplified statement on my behalf, but it's just one reason why it's featured so dominantly.
I now ask you this: Is all that may be beautiful in that series stronger than the violence, and if so, is it because it survives against all that seeks to destroy it? Or is the overwhelming desire to destroy all the possiblities for beauty (in all it's forms such as 'love') the greater force?
i'd say the former would be true, i thought the main story was god-awful and craptastical, but the characters of Mayu, Nana, and Bando were very indearing. Lucy and Mariko can brutally kill as many people as they want, but they suck majorly in the "character" department, as well as Kouta and Yuka. and as far as the story goes, it does excuse the violence, its just that the climax is probably when they first open container 35 and you see the huge vault and her vectors, after that the plot sorta nose dives. so i see beauty conquering viloence, or uglieness in both the situation you asked, as well in the sub-text i wrote up.
Is love destructive?
yes and no. i believe it destroys that which is broken, and rebuilds in the will of its giver, and if the source of the love is cut off, i.e. a break-up, the person is left incomplete, and thus in pain. love is always destructive, but is far more constructive when maintained, and is only painful when lost. therefore is see it as constructive, not destructive, only highly addictive with terrible withdrawl.

yes, in most games i choose looks over preformance, i want to look awesome, so i just level up until i can kill everything with the inferior, cooler looking weapon.
i say to all you that wish for advice on watching Elfen Lied, if you can value a few good characters and a lot of light humor over a kinda iffy plot and violence then this is a great series, just don't expect the ending to be breath taking.
i'm very happy and warm hearted right now, i made the one most important to me very happy today, by telling her that she can hide behind me and trust me to help and protect her when she needs it. i said that even though i don't know how much help and protection i can give, that i'd give all that i have.
she is unhappy because everyone makes fun of her, and that no matter how much she protects others, they never do the same. she was afraid, from experience that i would mock almost evereything about her. i thought it was because i'm an asshole, but i learned it was from her past, i told her that i will always be there for her, to prptect her when needed, and that i would never seriously mock her, i may bust balls and lovingly tease, buit when the chips, or rather tears are down, my arms will always be there to comfort her, and my lips and words will always soothe her.
it seems everything she dislikes about herself i find quirky, charming, indearing and cute.
i'm glad she now feels safe with me.
