at long last...
count-down to spring break: 13.5 hours

finally, the last day before spring break. well, the last few hours. my last class is cancelled, and my second to last class we just show up to pick up something, then i think we can go. so, at the very latest, im heading hom around 1. (its 11:30 now, so theres how i got 13.5 hrs) zoology is going to be just a normal lecture, but chem theres a test. how terrible is that? "here, let me give you a test when your mind is already on vacation." thank you dr gron. good news is, ths section is fairly easy. (watch me screw up horribly just because i said that) but, it really is. its basically variations on a theme, just changing what youre trying to find. (pH, concentration, etc) so after that, my day is basically over and i kill time until philosophy. ill be using that time to take crap out to my car. ive determined i have too much crap here, so im taking a good bit home. yay for making more closet space. and i dont have any tshirts at home anymore. must fix that.

geez, we had a mini-apocalypse here yesterday. woke up at about 4am to lashing thunderstorms. it slacked off come daybreak, but it was incredibly dark this morning. we were commenting about how it looked like the end of the world during zoo lab. it was sprinkling a bit as my lab partner and i were leaving lab, but just as we were between two buildings, the heavens opened and we were soaked through in about 5 seconds flat. so we scurried to the closest building, and watched the campus turn into a lake. finally just made a mad dash to our dorms. not pleasant. i enjoy walking in the rain, but not in storms that bring down trees and make walking against the wind impossible. it was quite an impressive display tho; really cool to watch.

alright, off for some last minute chem studying, then bed. yay last day for a week that i have to get up early.

quote of the day:
“The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing... not healing, not curing... that is a friend who cares.” -Henri Nouwen

how many people have a friend like that? im lucky enough to. i hope you have at least one friend you wouldnt hesitate to give your life for. life isnt worth anything if you dont.

so close...
count-down to spring break: 2 days (is this annoying you yet?)

today is technically an easy day. chem lab, we did the experiment last week, so now we just have to do the calculations, and my partner has already done them, so we put them in the computer, print, and were done. huzzah. zoo lab...i havent read the stuff yet, so i have no idea what were doing. ^^' im going to do that in a moment.

did a lovely sketch for lianas birthday. its going to be awesome when i finish it. which i will do later today since ill have a good bit of free time. and its sundae thursday, which just makes everything better.

had tkd last night. that was fun. learned some new stuff. lara still doesnt know her left and right. it was funny. sad, but funny. (ok, in all fairness i made plenty of stupid mistakes as well, but i can at least do left and right)

so ya. many goings-on in the world of inu.

quote of the day: (the real reason you people read these posts)
“When they discover the center of the universe, a lot of people will be disappointed to discover they are not it.” -Bernard Bailey

so true. i know so many people like this.

shoot me please and end the suffering
count-down to spring break: 3 days (is my counting off?)

today is not going to be fun. i have a zoo lab practical first thing in the morning, never a good sign. an even worse sign, the average on the last lab practical was a 47%. inus grade was around there. this is not a good thing. its generally not fun when you have to know the classifications of 4 phyla which include: 12 classes, 9 subclasses and 5 orders. and you have to know examples of organisms from each. and be able to recognize internal structures on a slide as well as said structures function and the function of structures afferent(towards body), efferent(away from body), dorsal(top), ventral(bottom) to said structure. sound fun? oh indeed. welcome to my major. alright, sorry for the little rant. but even the most anti-complaining people out there have to admit that this is a serious challenge. in addition to that, i have a midterm in environmental philosophy. and since i missed class yesterday, im not quite sure what to expect. emailed my teacher, so i know what types of questions, but not much else.

after all that, i get a break from band (concert went well last night, by the way) and i have tkd. my roommate and i have agreed that is a most wonderful stress-relief.

ok, im off to cram some more taxonomy(classification) into my head then im crashing. its well after 1, and i prefer to be in bed by now. sorry for all the complaining today, didnt mean it to sound that way.

quote of the day:
“A talent is formed in stillness, a character in the world’s torrent.” -Charles James Fox

as one with both character and (some) talents, i truly agree with this

special day
count-down to spring break: 5 days

im going to be murdered for this but, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIANA!!! congrats my friend, and have a good day.

urgh, inu was ill most of yesterday. havent been feeling so good for severla days, but it just suddenyl pounced on me yesterday morning. missed 3 of 4 classes (granted one had been cancelled anyway) not good. unavoidable, but not good. i dislike sounding like im complaining contantly, but heres another mini-rant. youd assume, that since i give my roommate the consideration of silence while shes trying to sleep, that she would return the favor, wouldnt you? apparently, she doesnt understand the concept of ill=need to sleep=need for silence. but no, i was obviously ill (im never in bed during the day otherwise) and heres lara banging away at her keyboard, dropping books, slamming the door and rummaging around in her closet. and lets see, all last semester, lara never once heard me when i got up before her. when laras sleeping for whatever reason, im as silent as is humanly possible. but do i get the same consideration? no. irritates me...

ok, all done. its safe to come out now.

inu has a band concert tonight. were playing some fun music, and it should be awesome. i love being in a good band where everyone cares and wants to be there (for the most part) its generally great fun.

ok, im crashing early, since i didnt sleep so well last night. (roommate up doing papers until 2am again.) im really going to tell her to go elsewhere or do it during the day like other people next time. im sick of being kept awake.

quote of the day:
“After his life was ruined, his family killed, and his farm destroyed, Job knelt on the ground and shouted up to heaven, “Why God? Why me?” And the thunderous voice of God answered, ‘There’s just something about you that pisses me off.’” –Stephan King

it amuses me that my methodist-affiliated college provides us with religious jokes.

........
count-down to spring break: 6 days

not a whole lot to talk/complain about today. didnt manage to get anything drawn yesterday, despite fighting with my muse all day. i really need to get on that. difficult to use art as your sanity when it refuses to cooperate.

have yet another chem quiz tomorrow...which sucks. im truly coming to dispise that class with a great passion. images of the building on fire keep popping into my mind...or use of the hazardous lab chemicals in violent and sadistic ways on people i dislike...*ahem* kindly forget you read that.

i have decided that it is the intent of college professors to create odd health issues in their students. for example: inu has developed the lovely condition of insomnia. also, inu has lost a great deal of weight since college started. and no, im not one of those "get stressed about everything and lose weight" kind of girls. you run the gauntlet of college calculus and chemistry and lets see you come out unscathed.

off to do something constructive, then bed.

quote of the day:
"Greetings and salutations, welcome to my little corner of Hell. Don't mind the brimstone, we've been redecorating."

i want to put that on the door

"workin' for the weekend..."
i really need to avoid sunday work next year. serves to nicely screw up my weekends.

last week before spring break, thank all the gods. but im not going to get a very restful spring break. i, like all the other college students, will be out applying for jobs. every freaking day. i havent the faintest idea of where to start. well, i have maybe three or four places in mind, but i know thats not near enough. i hate applying to jobs. especially being a tall, scrawny, blonde teen applying for a job. the automatic "cheerleader" sterotype plagues me and i dont get any credit for competence. as if the teen stereotype of "lazy, worthless, completely disrespectful, and a druggie" isnt bad enough, now im classified as brainless on top of it. curse culture-imposed stereotypes...

did some sketching today. colored two that have been sitting on my desk and did a new by request of liana. and i have to do another couple pertaining to liana. notice the distinct presence of lianas thoughts in my art? i swear half my ideas come from her. for one who is not herself an artist, she has a remarkable amount of ideas and grasp of the concepts.

today the quote shall be more fun, for it comes from a book called "the little book of venom", a lovely book of insults and curses.

quote of the day:
"May the curse of Mary Malone and her nine blind illegitimate children chase you so far over the hills of Damnation that the Lord himself can't find you with a telescope." -Traditional Irish curse

sorry if you dont like the language, but this is absolutely the best curse ive ever heard. for sheer randomness and hilarity, this is just excellent.

one more...
one more week before spring break. im so ready for the break. i need it badly. tho im going to be busy applying for summer jobs all week. blah.

my computer is happy now. i spent a good couple hours cleaning useless crap off of it. so now it runs better and it is happy. and thus i am happy that i dont have to fight it every step of the way now.

i actually had something to say, but its slipped my mind for the moment. im far too young for that...i blame chemistry.

quote of the day:
"Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something." -Wesley (The Princess Bride)

such a good movie. havent read the book, but liana tells me i must.

at last
tis friday again. and dear god am i ready for it.

been sketching. entered an art contest on DA, and have been working on that. then got sidetracked and worked on a different pic, the one of inu so you can see the scars on her back. turned out rather sad seeing as i added a little sketch of inu as a child right after she got the scars. poor little puppy. and now lianas after me to do yet another of her ideas. and i have another one that i want to do as well. so much art and no free time to do it in.

going to be a weekend busy with studying. have a zoo lab practical next week, and im going to do well on this one. (the whole class bombed the last one)

ok, not much to say because inu doesnt feel well. going to go to bed early.

quote of the day:
“Progress isn't made by early risers. It's made by lazy men trying to find easier ways to do something.” -Robert Heinlein, Time Enough For Love

and that ones for liana. she will know why.

ow
geez, tkd was intense last night (for a white belt class). we just did a whole freaking lot. did the rest of our form, did one-steps and line drills, did concentration kicks(evil), got a practical lesson of "if someone grabs you, what do you do." that was amusing. and inu reacts violently and instinctively when shes being choked, so she nearly hit her instructor before he got out of the way. so yes, inu and her roommate are very sore. but its a good sore.

not a whole lot to report. have both labs today as usual. molluscs in zoo and acid/base titrations in chem. joy, what fun. i hate titration labs. lots of useless math to go with it. well likely have to stay there until 4. apparently the zoo lab is going to be incredibly intense. lots to do and lots of new organisms to learn. a great deal of taxonomy, joy. and a clam dissection. and likely looking at slides. ooooh fun.

but its sundae thursday, so that makes it all better. off to go read now.

quote of the day:
“All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.” -Thomas Edward Lawrence
