oh the memories...
heh, before chinese the other day, we were talking about, of all things, favorite childhood cartoons. all sorts of names were tossed around: Adventures of Mighty Max, Thundercats, Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, He-man, etc. Then i mentioned may favorite, Gargoyles, and sadly no one else had ever seen it. however, being the nerd that i am, i was suddenly struck with the need to do fanart. dont know how many people here will have seen it. i think most people are of the younger generation and would have missed it. but what about you older people? see any familiar faces?

do tell me if youve seen it and we can be nerds together ^___^ man, this really brings back the memories. heh, this was the first tv show/movie/whatever that i made up a fan character for. if memory serves, she looked rather similar to inus dragon form with some variation. heh, ive had the dog/dragon thing in my head for a long time it seems. i may have to try to draw that character (whos name i cant recall) just for kicks.

no, really. well, not much anyway. got another picture up, as you can see below. yeah i know, long time with nothing, and then all i have is a silly little half-colored doodle. but its a funny doodle, and thats what matters, right?

things have been hellishly busy here, as you could likely have guessed formmy lack of activity. papers and tests abound here in college-land. tho i did just get a lovely 97% on my chinese test *bragbrag*. sorry, had to say something. (if we do well on the tests during the semester, we dont have to take the final)

lets see, genetics has been all over me. writing an 8-pg lab report about how you go about mapping genes in a type of fungus is not the best way to spend ones weekend. and ive got one on fruit flies that i need to do this weekend. and then theres the test next week. joyous!

yeah, people who say middle and high school are hard, oh man you dont know the meaning of hard yet. enjoy grade school while you can before college comes and eats you alive. (yes, i acknowledge that some high schools are hard. mine was one of those. but college still ate part of my soul.)

ok then! off to enjoy the first evening of no work for the past two weeks!

aaaagh! x_x
holy scholasticism batman! my chinese class ganged up on me all at once. baaah, i have a 5 minute recorded speaking assignment due tomorrow (or today depending what time it is) and a test friday. just in case you didnt know, its really hard to speak for 5 minutes in a foreign language. especially with a microphone staring you in the face. oy, i didnt mess up half that much during practices. *twiiiiiiitch* on the bright side, its over now, i get to sleep late, and its sundae day in the cafeteria. i can deal with this. blast...i have a genetics report due monday...noooooo! *cough* alright thats enough of that. be warned, this string of events will certainly spawn silly/inane doodles of insanity. as if the last few bits of insanity werent enough for ya.

ummm...ok i just had to whine to somebody about the unfairness of it all (aha i kid. no emo here.) yeah, those of you not yet in college, dont assume its all parties and fun. i dont have time for much besides studying. what time i have is time ive forcibly made to save my sanity. and i use it for drawing and reading. then again, im at one of the hardest colleges in the state, in one of the most intense departments of the college (huzzah for biology majors! you lose your soul to the labs!) yeah, i need to go sleep now.

   *cackle*
yeeeees ive finally gone insane. i always knew art would push me over the edge somehow. *ahem* anyway, ive been working on this freaking epic picture for about a month now (off and on), and i finally jut sat down and finished it. why did this drive me crazy, you ask? well, youll see. and now i will share this with you, so you might understand why im twitching.

heh, since thats not anime in any sense of the word, its not on here. too bad, id like to show it off and blow all the little kiddie artists away. anyway! whatcha' think? i think i earned the right to brag for this. *bragbragbrag*

since i know people will ask and wont read the description over on dA, this is an alien. its not an anthro anything. alien. shes an erda, a race that ive explored a bit before. theyre so freaking complicated i dont seem to draw them that much. i came up with (or was accosted by) these guys during spare time at work this summer. the one in this picture is very much average. and those clothes and such are just your typical every-day wear. yeah, you dont want to try to comprehend fancy for them. it makes my head hurt.

now then, the main reason this made my crazy. those are mosaics in the background. painstakingly drawn, one little square at a time. each one took me a full night by itself when i actually worked on it that long. you can see how they got much better as i figured this out. portraying a very different media in something else is most trying.

alright then! im going to go sit in a corner and giggle at nothing now. away!

more silliness. fun stuff.

hm, anyone here watched/ read 'death note'? id just seen and heard mention of it, so i decided to check it out. and then i watched the whole 37 episode series in three days. needlessto say, it was awesome. and then i got liana hooked on it. im good at that. anyway, its a odd series, and its very dark. its very much a psychological thriller type thing. so if you like murder mysteries, check it out. once again though, be warned that it is very dark and morbid. if that doesnt bother you, i highly recommend it. heres the list of episodes if you wanna check it out. (a few dont work but can be found on google)

hm, i think thats about it. been raining like crazy for the past few days. which is most annoying.

i always seem to get these things from ace. but its not like i have anything better to do.
