warning: major ranting. read at own peril
ok, for the past couple months ive been looking for a job since im going off to college and need money. i had a job lined up at place where ive been volunteering for several years (museum f discovery). i talked to someone there yesterday and got my work schedual for july, so i thought iwas good. then, this morning, i get an email telling me that 'on second thought, we didnt know you were only going to work during the summer, we dont have a place for you afterall'. i had told them i would only be working for the summer! im not going to drive in from college (hour round trip) for a few hours a day. id spend more on gas than i would be payed! what pisses me off is that they didnt tell me this sooner! i dont have a second option lined up, im at loose ends. i had been TOLD i had a job there, so i didnt bother looking elsewhere. now im stuck and i have to find something fast. oh, and after telling me i couldnt work there, she had the nerve to tell me to keep volunteering. does she honestly think id keep volunteering at a place that screwed me over like that?! shes naive. no, i will not have any more involvement with the museum. that annoys me, cus i liked it there. but no. after that, all ties are severed. i sent her back an oh-so-polite yet very very biting email to make my point. so yes. now inu gets to scramble frantically to find a job as soon as possible. this is going to be fun.
