take a look
ok, im posting an excerpt from one of mine and lianas fanfics. this is a small part of one called "The Fight for Life."
---------------------------------
Liana's power surged toward the surface, and lightning blasted open the doors. With the burning embers still falling to the floor, she began an all-out mental attack at the human. The black aura constricted her.

Inu darted around Liana and lunged at the human, sword drawn.

Liana quickly cut off the mental attack, sending a blast of fire through the floor following her friend.

The human dodged both attacks, to all appearances having difficulty.

Liana leapt at the human, her sword coming downward as her trench coat billowed.

Inu mirrored Liana's attack, coming from the other side.

He dodged and rolled, trying to get out of the way of the shimmering blades.

Inu spun and kicked him in the gut, knocking him down. She rested the point of her sword at his throat, wanting him to suffer before he died.

His eyes went wide, and the human's skin began to turn grey and shrink from his bones. His eyes sank into dark hollows and disappeared as his lips curled away. The human's hair fell from its skull-like head. A bony hand reached up and grabbed Inu's sword, yanking it to the side.

Inu jerked back, pulling her sword away from the body.

The black aura enveloped both of them again, and it held up its skeleton hands, black fire and lightning surging around them.

Inu jerked and cried out, the black light tearing through her. She made a desperate effort and threw her sword like a spear, embedding it in the thing's rib cage.

It pulled it out, laughing. "Behave dragons for I have all your abilities."

Inu pushed through the black energy, catching the things rotted skull and twisting, snapping the neck.

It put both hands to its head and slowly cracked it back into place. "You can't kill me, but I can kill you. In fact, I can become you." It said, the black aura only becoming a restraint.

Inu thrashed, panting from exertion. "There's a way to kill you and we'll find it."

He chuckled. "Nothing can kill me. I have every demon’s powers here."

"You're an abomination to all three worlds. It'll be a pleasure killing you," Inu snarled and spat at the creature.

A low hiss came from the creature's ribcage. "I know how to get you to behave, dragon. You have something for friendship."

"Don't even think about it."

"What is it about friendship that fascinates you creatures so much? I've never understood it." He said with a smirk as he slowly moved towards Liana.

Inu snarled and threw her weight against the restraints. "Don't you dare."

Liana sent out a flare of lightning. "You're nothing more than aged bones."

"Oh, I surely am not, dragon." He said with a humorous tone to his voice.

Inu fought harder against the black light.

Liana felt thin, bony fingers dig into her shoulder. A black aura roared around her and she screamed, the dark light exploding from her mouth.

"Liana!" Inu's fury gave her strength enough to shatter the dark restraints around her.

Liana went abnormally pale and dropped to the ground as a silvery wisp flew through the skeleton's arm to his ribcage.

Inu froze, her eyes wide. She looked between the crumpled form on the ground and the duplicate of Liana smirking at her.

"What's wrong dragon? You look as if you've seen a ghost."

"You bastard!" Inu rushed it, slashing with her claws. She tried to maneuver into a position to be able to get her sword from where it had fallen.

There was a soft whisper of a trench coat, and then Inu felt a hand at her throat. Inu used an old trick and threw her weight against the smaller creature, using her size to her advantage.

Lightning zoomed into Inu's body. Inu jerked and managed to sink her claws into the thing's upper arms. It tried to pull away. Inu's grip only tightened, driving her claws into bone.

It let out a cry of pain, not able to focus enough to use Liana's unfamiliar abilities.

Inu smirked. "You're in a living form. You can die." She pulled her claws out of its arms and dug them into its throat.

It gasped and the bones under the skin writhed and broke free when the silver soul went back to Liana.

Inu didn't let up her attack, not giving it time to fight back.

Its bony hands clutched Inu, sinking like tiny razors into her skin.

Inu twisted away, ripping its fingers out of her skin.

The skeleton chuckled. "You have no chance. Remember this lesson, dragon." It slammed a bony foot into her temple.

Pain tore through Inu and sent her plummeting into darkness.

"Inu...Inu...Inu?"
