oooooow
as threatened, i decided on a pic that would prove a nice challenge and take a lot of time. and it did both very nicely. started at 5 in the afternoon, took an hour break for a shower and dinner, then worked straight from 7-12. 6 hrs may not sound like much since some people will spend upwards of 20 hrs on stuff, but im notoriously fast. mind you, this is image sans background. i need to do a bg, but im not sure what would be fitting. i chose auron from final fantasy (which number?). hes on lianas "list of guys inu must draw or suffer dire consequences". 2 down, 4 to go >< anyway, used likely the most common picure of him known to man. but hey, it looks cool. i like the fact that hlf his face is covered; that made my job much easier. but glasses are not the easiest thing to draw, even sunglasses. i did this "master piece" in all graphite, alternating between a mechanical pencil and your average #2 wood pencil. used a scrap of paper towel to smudge, and voila, auron. has anyone else noticed just how freaking details video game characters clothes tend to be? i mean really. its insane. had fun with the giant sword, even tho only part of it even shows on the page. funny, in the picture i was using for reference, he looked really bored. somehow, in my version, he ended up looking pissed at the world. my roommates bf started cracking up and said that was perfectly in character, so im not too concerned. then he started rattling off little auron-related anecdotes. it was rather amusing.(i dont play final fantasy or kingdom hearts, so i really dont know much about auron) but yay for realism. real realism this time. heh, my herald vanyel pic was greeted with "thats good, but its not realism" so i say to you people, "behold the actual realism! inus rarely used skill of awesome!" (arent i modest?) as i said, this image needs a bg, and i dont know whats fitting, so if any video game gurus out there have suggestions, feel free to make them.

quote of the day:
"In each human heart are a tiger, a pig, an ass and a nightingale. Diversity of character is due to their unequal activity." – Ambrose Bierce

i love these cynical authors, of which Bierce and Twain are the most awesome.
