Through the Looking Glass (Part 26)
The party walks into the room. The man that was talking with Daedalus first has his back turned. Only when the door closes does he turn around.
man: Ah. Daedalus, Lycurgus. Glad you're here.
Lycurgus and Daedalus put their right arm across their chests and bow. Aino looks at them franticlly and bows.
man: And who is this?
He walks over and stands infront of Aino. She looks up. He takes her chin in his hand and looks her face over.
man: Well, boys, you picked up a good one. (smiles) And what might your name be?
Aino: Well I...
Daedalus puts his arm inbetween the two. He glares at the man.
Daedalus: Her name is Kitty, Orestes.
Lycurgus narrows his eyes at Daedalus.
Lycurgus (whispering): Daedalus.
Orestes: Hmm...
Lycurgus: Uh, about the mission, Commander.
Orestes: Ah yes.
He turns around and walks over to his desk.
Orestes: As you know, the Dark Army has become active again. They have been collecting shards of the Ice Sword, as I'm assuming Adonis has already explained to you.
He turns to face them.
Orestes: It's up to you to collect them before the Dark Army.
Lycurgus: But sir! The have thousands of creatures around the planet looking for them!
Orestes: Ah, but you're forgetting one thing, Lycurgus. You have the Ice Princess.
The group gasps.
Daedalus: But-wha-What are you talking about.
Orestes: Don't try to fool me, Daedalus. I knew she was the Ice Princess from the start. And isn't it true that the Ice Princess can sense every single shard? After all, the Ice Sword was born from the royal Ice family's blood. And you Daedalus. You can sense the Dark Army. Isn't that right?
Daedalus looks at the floor in disgust.
Orestes: So I don't see a problem. You will begin today. Euphosyne will provide you with food and other supplies. You are to leave today. Head in the direction where a shard feels the strongest. Report back as soon as soon as you have collected every shard you can.
He turns to his desk and pulls out a small round mirrior. He tosses it to Lycurgus.
Orestes: I will be checking up on you every so often with this. I had it crafted by a wizard. It's so we can communicate. Good Luck. You are dissmissed.
Daedalus and Lycurgus bow like they did before and turn to leave. They walk out the door. Aino turns and looks over her shoulder at Orestes. She follows them and closes the door behind her. They are now walking down the hall.
Daedalus: Did you notice something strange about Orestes?
Lycurgus: Yeah. What do you think it was?
Daedalus: I don't know. But whatever it was, something doesn't smell right.

Whoo! Finally got it up. Yay! - - Ok, it's 12:45 in the morning. And I'm going to church tomorrow with Sam. So I need to go to bed. See you space cowboy...
