Sunny with a high of 75
I swear I had a lot to say in this post, but the only thing I can remember was the Twilight Zone.
I finished the last of the episodes yesterday, and now that I think of it, I really should've gotten them back, since I'm back up at the library right now. Ah well. There were some great episodes in there, but I'm only going to talk about one of them, and not for it's story or entertainment value.
It was one called "Mr. Denton on Doomsday". Really nice short set in the days of the old west. When the main character, a drunk, was talking about his past, I realized that Mel Brooks had parodied the show in Blazing Saddles. Denton said that he was a famous gunfighter, and every day someone would ride into town to test his skill. One day, the newcomer was a sixteen-year-old kid. Not being able to do anything else, Denton shot him, too, and was so fed up that he gave up his life as a gunfighter and became a drunk.
The only difference in this story from that of Blazing Saddles' Waco Kid is that his adversary was a six-year-old, and when he tried to walk away from the duel, "the little bastard shot me in the ass".
Anyway, I thought that was a pretty fun thing to discover. Seems like nobody into parodies can keep their hands off The Twilight Zone. ^_^
