It's great to be back!

Yeah... I keep this up and I can see the series of titles I'll be using... -_- Everyday I have stuff to post but never get the time to at least drop by and actually do it. They're from the most stupid rantings to little achievements, but by now I have forgotten them. Anyway, I'm going to end this post with a quote from World War II from a famous general...    Talk about organized...

So I was at work yesterday when a friend of mine from another department came to request this file document. Stupid me, at first I didn't notice what year it was, and so I assumed it was for this current year. As expected, I couldn't find the damn thing. I looked at it again to confirm and saw the year, *Toink* 2005! And so I went to find the cursed thing. Went in the stock room and went through the usual places where my predecessor places her files. After almost 30 min of futile searching, up my predecessor arrived, went to a corner, pissed off like hell, and picked out a bunch of folders tied by a rubber band. "Did you guys said something about disorganized when it's right here and well bounded," she said. I was saying to myself, "Yeah right... Why in the world did you place it in that corner of the rack not assigned to you?" Yes folks, as far as I know, they have assigned rack spaces in the stock room, except for labelled boxes which is every man for himself, each of them has a designated area to place files. So why put it there? Geez... talk about organized, eh?

   Let me think...

In reply to TheMask's question, I made this post. []Our University's computerized election... I don't know much of the technical aspect of the stuff but I can tell about the process that a voter goes through. First off, a student will go to the Gymnasium and heads over to a table with some election commission guys to register for voting and for assigning a computer for voting. Afterwards, he heads off to a computer, enters his student number to activate the specialized program and selects his candidates by clicking on a picture. Afterwards, a printed copy is produced and dropped off in a balot box, his fingers inked and out he goes. Like I said, I don't know much of the "behind the scenes" of the election program, but I'm guessing that a database stores all the votes and the printout is there as a hardcopy of all the votes, perhaps if there are any complaints, hehehe... Hope that gives you some ideas. And that my friend is that... see yah! ^ ^

   Summer is starting to kick in...

I don't know about you guys, but from where I am, it's so freakin' hot! This afternoon, I could feel steam rising out of my body... *got whacked on the head* ok, it was a bit of an exaggeration... but you get the idea. Right now, nothing beats a nice cool glass of anything cold, hehehe... can't think of anything right now. Well, that's the Philippines for yah. Just cool on around 2-3 months, and hot all year round. Hey, we're lucky if it gets cool on another month. Hey, it's March! and for students here, it's the summer vacation... I miss being a student. hehehe XD

   Dead tired...

Guess I don't have to "expound" on that one, do I? I've been really pushing myself to the limit lately. I got covered in tons of paper work, and well, that was not a pretty picture... waking up in the morning is like trying to push weights off my body... ehehe... tough ^ ^ yeah, having a hard time getting on line... 'coz, well, a bit busy. Most of us are, eh? site visitors dropped quite a lot.

   Today, I became the boss...

Bwahahaha! As hard to believe as it is, I became the boss of our department from being the one at the bottom... Two things can only happen for that to be a reality... I got promoted real fast *big grin* or everyone went kaput! As much as I wanted the first one, it's the second event the took place. Now, don't get any wrong ideas. Our department is small - 4 people including me. 1 was on official business and 2 were absent. I was left in charge of 2 students in practicum. Yeah, even had a hell of a morning with the one on OB was asking for some documents to be emailed, plus this request from another branch manager that required searching some old records... Good thing I had 2 "subordinates" or I would have been a one-man show! Today, I was the team leader, and I'm going to be demoted back to my regular position tomorrow... hehehe :D

   Arrrgh!

Why is it that whenever I'm in a rush to finish stuff everything seems to be... well... uh, not good... today, my blasted computer in the office keeps hanging like I'm playing one of those 3D games that needs lots of memory... where the screen seems to freeze and not respond... But I'm not... *Grrr* I'm just using MS Office... scrolling around the document is a big pain! Either my computer is terribly ill, or my file is unnusually large... yeah right... a large file, huh? xD

   This is a bit serious...

Ok, so I have been a bit aware of the terrible ordeal that Adam, as well as TheOtaku is going through... So far, I have learned that "the enemy" got eyes on our site. WIth that, I think we should be a bit careful on what we place here... by that I mean not place any stuff that might compromise our advantage or give them an advantage... A bit confusing, but hey, it's just my idea. Give 'em hell, for all I care... but we got to plan it carefully, starting with any comments or posts... Heh, that's just my thoughts. I hope Adam nails those *beep* huh? censored? oh, just my phone... hehe :D
