Kagerou BiTches!
Kagerou (蜉蝣) is a Japanese Visual Kei rock band. Kagerou formed in September of 1999 by vocalist Daisuke, and bassist MASAYA, soon to be joined by guitarist Yuana. After their time on record label Loop Ash, in 2000 Kagerou transferred to label Lizard inside of Free-Will. After having gained great popularity among the Japanese Visual Kei audience, they went abroad in 2005; playing in Germany and France.

At the live of September 16, 2006, at LIQUID ROOM ebisu, they stated their disbandment. Their comment on the 19th on their official site states it will take place on January of 2007, after a final tour in late October & November.

[edit] Style
Kagerou are a band in the Japanese Visual Kei style, which is characterised by its obscure and androgyne look. Although Kagerou currently uses less make-up and wear simplified stage outfits in comparison to most Visual Kei bands, they still call themselves a Visual Kei band.

[edit] Band Name
Kagerou (蜉蝣, prounounced 'Kagero') means "mayfly" in Japanese. Mayflies can be as old as three years. However, when mayflies reach their adulthood, their life span varies from two hours to three days. This short life span relates to Kagerou's vocalist Daisuke. Daisuke has suffered from heart related problems since infancy. Each day there is a chance his heart will give up. So like the adult mayfly his life span can be very short. "Live your every minute as if it were your last, not scared but filled with the most joyous moments," says Daisuke.

[edit] Current
Daisuke(大佑) - Vocalist. He writes all the lyrics for Kagerou. His previous bands include Le'Cheri and Fatima, in which he was the drummer. Daisuke loves interaction with his audience such as his constant stagediving, and so do the fans.

Yuana(ユアナ) - Acoustic & Electric guitar. He often writes the band's songs. Examples of songs he has written are "Koukotsu Jigoku," "Shibire Kokoro," and "Seitekikinchou Implant." His past bands include Sweet Hallucination, and Alicia as Ewana.

kazu - Bass. His past bands were RESEARCH as KAZUNORI, and Aioria as Kazutake. He also writes a lot of songs for the band, such as "Holy Needle," "Kakokei Shinjitsu," and "Yami ni Warau Kuro".

Shizumi(静海)- Drums and percussion. He is normally seen playing a Pearl brand drum set. His past bands were Mitre Cure and MELUSINE. Shizumi has stated before him wanting to become a pianist if he had not become a drummer. He has composed songs as "Rasen Kubi," "Masatsu Shinkou," and "3.2.1." for the band. Shizumi is one of the "crowd pleasers," and has a lot of contact with the audience. He is known to have spoken English, German and French in recent overseas shows just for his fans.

[edit] Ex Members
MASAYA - Bassist. He left in 2000 and joined Kar'MariA. He then "retired" and has reportably left music.

KUYA - Bassist. He joined January 2001 and left during August of that same year to join GUICHE.
