Chapter Two. The Story of Ivey and Ivan. Legends Unbroken.
"Two silhouettes stood upon the hill looking over the town.
Ivey and Ivan were ready for their kill."
I listened to the old man tell his story. The story, of how he escaped the terror of the twin duo.
I knew that none of it was true. Ivey and Ivan had never destroyed the mans home. I wanted to tell him that he was mistaken. But Ivey's soul held my heart. I'd be burned as a witch. The truth is, I know everything. I know how they came to be. Who they really are. Why they kill.
The war began hundreds of years ago. Ivey and Ivan, twins, born of hatred, were the top worriors in the king's army. Beaten and tortured everyday. Turning them into killing machines. Forced to kill the ones they loved, and drink their blood. They became heartless demons. Eventually losing all humanity, and free will. At least, that's what was thought by the king. In fact, they had too much free will. Driving Ivey to kill the king.
Since that day, there has been a legend, telling about two worriors who could kill the two.
These worriors live amoungst us, as humans. The legend tells about these worroirs coming to save us, when Ivey and Ivan surface once more. The time is drawing near.

"Bring them from the dungeon." The king laughed. "It's time for their training."
"Yes, M'lord."
Ivey and Ivan were brought in in shackles.
Their eyes were a hallow grey. Their jet black hair hung wildly, uncombed in their face. Their clothes, tattered.
Ivey lifted her head. "M'lord... What is your bidding for today?" She tilted her head slightly to one side.
Ivan's eyes narrowed as he looked over at her.
"Unshackle the girl. I believe we've gotten through to her. Unlike her misserable brother." The king smiled.
A knight uncuffed her and led her to the king's side.
He lifted her chin. "What a fine queen you will make."
"Get your filthy hands off of her!" Ivan yelled as he struggled to get free.
The king laughed. "Her brother will make a fine soldier in time."
"A very fine one indeed." Ivey smiled. "But I'm afraid I can't say the same for my being queen." Her thick accent seaped through her smirk.
Blood ran from the king's mouth as her dagger, hidden by her clothes, plunged through his heart. "Rest in peace, M'lord." Her smile grew.
"M'lord!!" The gaurds yelled as they ran to his side.
Ivan grinned at his sister as she fed the gaurds the same fate as their king. She made her way to Ivan. "You doubted me." Her eyes narrowed. "I should kill you with them. But I'd never slay my own flesh and blood." She slashed at his shackles, breaking him free.

They ran for shelter as the rain poured. They came upon a barn in a small village, and stopped for the night.

Days passed as they wandered. Every soldier in the kingdom was out to find them, but to no aval.
Nearly five monthes had passed with them on the run. When, one day, they reached a tiny village just outside of civilization.
"This is it, Ivey." Ivan said with a smile. "Our new home. These people don't know the king from their neighbor. It's more likely, they've never even heard of his death. At least, not before we're long gone."
"You'd better be right. Or I might kill you." Ivey smiled brightly at him. "Come. they await."
Ivan smiled back at her.

They lived in the village for years, unknown by the villagers as the killers of their king.

A man wandered in the village one day. He had no connection to anyone there. But Ivey watched him like a hawk.
He had hair as black as Ivey and Ivan's, coming down to his shoulders, and hallow grey eyes.
The exact likeness of their kind. He couldn't be trusted. Not even by Ivey and Ivan themselves.

One day, Ivey caught the man's eye. He walked over cautously.
"Hello ma'am. Fine day today. You agree?"
"No day is fine. Don't think you can trick us by your act." Ivey looked into his eyes. They were as cold as hers.
"I see. You are what I've thought." He smirked. "You are WHO I thought."
"Aie." She smirked back. "Are you one of his mindless drones? Or, were you, should I say?"
"Neither. I've been looking for you. You are as beautiful as the stories say." He touched her cheek.
A line of blood ran down his hand, as her blade dug into his palm.
"NEVER touch me." She said coldly. "I don't know who you are, or why you've been looking for us, but I warn you, any interferance in our plans, will get you killed. Do I make myself clear?"
He smiled and, tipped his hat. "Good'ay, ma'am." He walked away. The wound on his hand, healed.
"He's a threat." Ivey thought as she ran to warn Ivan.

"Do you really think he could be Damien?" Ivan said as he bit into an apple.
"Certain as I'm standing here." She took the apple.
"So, where could he have hidden Kera?" He reached for the apple.
"Not sure. Nor do I care. We have to get out of here, before they can use their dirty little tricks on us." She pulled the apple back and tossed it into the air. Slicing it in half, both halves landing in mud puddles.
"That was unfair." Ivan looked at her.
"The world is unfair. We're now on the run, once more. And to think, life was going so well." She licked the juice off the blade.

I zoned back in as the memory stopped in my mind. The man was still rambling. Now, he had survived four of their attacks. Yet, he had never even seen the two. Nor had the two killed in over three hundred years. This man wasn't a day over eighty-nine.
I stood. "Sorry to end the story so soon." I smiled at him brightly. "But I should really be getting home."
"Be careful out there. Those two are still ready to kill." He said through half closed eyes.
"Yes sir." I walked out. "This man has no idea..." I thought as the door slammed behind me.
Ivey's voice answered me. "He's not what he seems. A shape shifter... Posseser. Be careful, Reena. If you get yourself killed, you'll kill me. Or, should I say, I'll have to kill you, before you can kill me."
I felt her grasp on my heart, as she squeezed. "Y-yes, Ivey." I said silently as I struggled to stay standing.
"Good." Her grasp loosened. "Now, Ivan has found us, and that boy knows too much."
"Keith doesn't know anything."
"That's what you think. He's been talking to that old man. I know his mind is being manipulated."
I sighed as I walked home.

That's all you get for now. Mainly, I got bored, and I have to get offline soon. Well, Next chapter will come in a day or two. Don't fall asleep reading now. ~.-
