How old is too old?
Someone asked me a very good question in my guestbook and I feel that I should address it right here. I'm sure that alot of other people are wondering what a 22 year old would be doing at a place like MyOtaku. This person asked if I was a little old to be here. So, am I too old to be hanging out in an anime community? I like anime and I like interacting with other people so, I thought that this site would be great for me. I don't think that there is an age limit for this sort of thing and as I'm typing this, my grandfather comes to mind. When I was very little, my grandpa had VHS's of what I thought were weird cartoons. Back then, I didn't understand why somebody would watch cartoons in a different language(his stuff wasn't subbed, it was just japanese dialogue). In 1992, he had planned a road trip to California. My mom had the idea of me going and spending some time with him. Our destination was an anime con. Some people were dressed up as anime characters and alot of others were wearing plain flannel. I thought it was a weird place. My grandpa bought me a copy of Devil Hunter Yohko and he himself brought home a few LD's. Devil Hunter Yohko was the first anime that I was able to understand what was going on. My grandpas' LDs however, were still purely japanes. Yes, a 72 year old man(at the time) can enjoy anime like anyone else and it was he that got me to start watching it. Are me amd my granpa immature? What's your opinion?
