Uggghhhhhhhh
*drops down dead* Yeah, okay, I'm not that much into blogs. SORRY! I don't have much of an interesting life as it is, but that's my own opinion, so bug off!
Random Person: "Wha...?"
Alright, alright, maybe I do. Me and my two best friends, Lorenza and Meghan, are dressing up as waitresses for Halloween.
Huh?
Wait, I forgot some words...we're dressing up as waitresses from Azumanga Daioh (if you haven't noticed, I'm a freak about that show). It's from the third volume of the manga, when the second culture fest takes place, and the girls run a "stuffed animal cafe". Anime wise, it's episode 16. (I'm definetly taking pictures of us and will hopefully post them up here after Halloween).
School-wise, my grades have been in the sink. Uh, wait, no...that'd just be my science grade. -__- I swear, I'm gonna fail that class and break my eight-quarter-in-a-row record of being on the gold honor roll. It seems that, even when I try my hardest, it isn't enough. Luckily, I got a B+ on the last test, and a 63/64 on our latest big project. Hopefully, my grades will average out to at least a B. My big lifesaver, though, is the fact that I'm getting an A+ in pre-algebra. ^^ Go extra credit! I'm pretty much doing well for myself in every class.
The funny thing came yesterday: It was the Friday before Halloween, so of course the school lets us wear our costumes. The ultimate question of "What are you supposed to be?" and "What's with the hat?" haunted me and my buddies the entire day. And, confusing people by making them say "Azumanga Daioh" was a treat. ^^ In Lit class, we were doing a word search to kill the rest of the twenty minutes in class. Well, we had one of those student-teacher observers in our classroom and my teacher, Ms. McCoy, sat down with him and began chatting. That's when I heard it:
"-Ginger, Lorenza, and Meghan are dressed up as characters from an anime series-" (Yes! She said it right!)
At which point, I turned my upper body around (she was barely five feet away from me) and said:
"Huh? What? What about me?"
Student Teacher Observer Dude: "What anime are you from?"
Me and Lorenza: "Azumanga Daioh!"
STOD: "...oh."

theOtaku.com Revised - Not such a good idea
I dunno about you guys, but here's the one word I can use to summarize the new version of theOtaku.com: Stale.
Okay, it's great that they have tons of anime descriptions, but I honestly don't care about those! I enjoyed going through various sections and finding things, such as screencaps and artscans.
What's the big deal with this launch if all it does is make like an anime encyclopedia rather than theOtaku.com I used to know and love. I remember coming here when the splash page was "rejected product number 271: Pikachu flashlight". Grant it, I was eight at that time, so I thought it was hilarious. Anyways...
I'm not sure just how this launch is going to better this place. That, and I hate the layout. Way too grey, and TOO MANY FRICKIN' ADS! For the love of God, if you're on a paid domain, then it shouldn't have this many ads! Kuso!
That's all from me. Later...

ToS 'n school
O_O I wonder if they got the whole "you must be thirteen or older" part after Adam came to my site. *sweatdrop* Okay, I highly doubt it, but still...Boy am I glad I turned thirteen before the ToS came out.
Well, my Azu quiz is doing pretty bad. -___- 78%, last time I checked. Maybe I shouldn't have made them so specific or sommin'...boy, I can feel my Guru respect dropping.
I start school tomorrow. -.-; I'll be glad to see my friends everyday, but I don't want to wake up early or have to deal with running the mile in gym, or living through science class with a teacher I can't stand. His name's Mr. Zippe, and he was one of the seventh grade science teachers. WELL, he transferred to eighth grade (probably to make the lives of kids who hade him a living hell). I don't get why teachers do that! Why do they want to see the same kids two years in a row? *sighs*
Eh, they should outlaw that. 'You can't transfer grades!' Oh yeah, like THAT'S ever gonna happen...
Not much to chat about, really. Summer's over, so I'm spending the last day of it hiding in my basement, glued to the computer monitor. *sweatdrop*
Ah well...Hope you school year doesn't suck...

   WOOT!!!
*slurps up some coffee* WHEE! It's my birthday! I'm thirteen!
But that's beside the point. I finally finished the Azumanga Daioh quiz! ^^ Here are links for the results.

Woah. I'm finished. ^^ Please enjoy; I'm off to the land of e-mails...

LATER: Quiz sent! I hope it gets up soon. ^^

S'more ramblings ^^
Ah yes, July 31, 2003. I remember the day clearly. In fact, I remember the summer clearly, because that's when I was cheesed off about how long theOtaku.com was taking to make the new thingie that turned out to be myOtaku (whew, long sentence). For God's sake, I was even thinking about it in the car whenever I went grocery shopping or something. -.-;
Well, anyways, tomorrow's my birthday! YIPPEE! ^^ I'll finally be turning 13, at least four months after my youngest friend, Meghan. -___- I've always, always, always been the youngest in my classes becase of my late birthday, and people always wonder why. Well, I was ready to go to school back in preschool when I was four. And I can easily say I was the youngest. It's actually kinda odd, because I would be this six-year-old in a class with kids already seven. I never skipped a grade (who wants to do that and say buh-bye to your friends?), but I always excelled in every grade I was in.
See, I would scan my Stanford scores from fifth grade, but those are sommin like "highly confidental" because they list my name and crap.
Sad factoid of life, though, is that two of my friends went to pre-first, and you'd've never guessed it. One is Lorenza (who you've heard so much about here...) and the other is my buddy Liz (from numerous other posts). Lorenza turns 14 August 13th (hehe...Friday the 13th) and Liz turned 14 a few months ago. If they hadn't, my only friend would be Diane, because I met Meghan more through Liz than anyone else.
Going back to a year ago...
I remember when Adam launched myOtaku. I had been haunting the site for two months, waiting for it to happen, and when it did, I whisked to the sign-up to get my name. Katana's my trademark online, ya know. ^_~
More Azumanga Daioh quiz! I have completed Tomo, Sakaki, Yomi, Osaka, and Kagura, so I only have to do Yukari and Nyamo! ^^ Every file except for Chioy-chan's is in Photoshop format so I can go back and edit something if I need to. I'm hoping to have sent the quiz and the results to Guru by tomorrow night, at the very latest. Keep watching Guru for the quiz! ^_~

Progress report! ^^
I finished the actual Azumanga Daioh quiz last night. All I need to do now is create eight images. -.-; I have one done as of now, and it's Chiyo-chan's. The other possible results for the quiz are Tomo, Yomi, Sakaki, Kagura, Osaka, Yukari, and Nyamo. Sheesh, it's hard to find the right words for a quiz result. You can't describe the character exactly, you can only put down stuff from answers on the quiz and explain them a tad and I mean a tad.
Oh well, here's the link if you wanna see the image.

http://img61.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img61&image=Chiyo-chan.jpg

Wha'cha think? ^^
Also, I rumaged around my Backroom and found out that my site is 176th in popularity out of 10,104 active sites. Go me! :D
(The rating keeps changing. Yesterday I was 175, and last week I was 178, so...)

Azumanga Daioh quiz
I'm thinking about making a new quiz for Guru. Obviously, it's gonna be an Azumanga Daioh quiz. Why? Well, lemme explain a bit...
I've tried to send Azu cards, but its anime isn't even listed (even though I haven't heard of half of the animes on the list). I'm curious to know how you get a new anime up there, because Azu cards can really cheer a person up. ^^
Then I decided last night (while trying to fall asleep at 2 am -.-) to make a quiz of it, because with quizzes, you just submit the info and it's there! ^^ No scrolling the list to see if you can submit it! Yay!
Hope you Azumanga Daioh fans are happy. ^_~ Later!

...*looks up* ...Why is there always sword advertisments on my page? Very funny Adam...-.-;

   ...*coughs*...
It's been nearly two months since I last posted. O_O SLACKER!
Well, the band trip I mentioned in June 9th post was tons of fun. The worst part was the bus ride there, because we had to sleep on the buses. ~_~ Nothin' like being on a bus for 13 hours, getting yelled at by chaperones (because the Pennsylvania Posse sat near the front), and trying to fall asleep sitting. (I just can't do that). Oh, and not to mention putting on my retainers (they look like those invisible braces from a few years back)and having to take them off two hours later because someone offered me food. ^^; In the morning, I just popped them off, wiped the spit off on my shirt, and shackled them back into their cases. Yayyy...
I really can't say too much about the actual trip. The bus rides actually seemed to be the most entertaining part, because we had to go on them everyday to get somewhere. Ugh, but going to Arlington, Virginia from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania really sucks the life outta ya.
We call one of my friends Waffle-chan. And there was a Waffle House being renovated right across the street from our hotel. ^^;
The hotel we stayed at (Wyndham) soon got the nick name of the Flying Pig Hotel. (Wynd = wind, flying; ham = pig;...get it?). What was really weird was that it was one of those luxorious hotels. Ballrooms, a fancy restaurant inside (mind you, we never used it ~_~), and a sauna! A FREAKIN' SAUNA! ^^; I spent tons of time in that steamy room, but the pool was awesome. There was an indoor one and an outdoor one, connected by this waterway with an opening in the wall to swim outside/inside. I preferred the inside one, mainly 'cause it was warm and every single time we used the pool, it was around 8 at night.
Hershey Park. Damn, the place is WAY cooler than Six Flags! ^^ If you go to Pennsylvania, don't forget this place!
Hershery Land was really cool too. It was like a place to learn about the "history" of Hershey chocolate, and buy tons of it. Lorenza bought a five pound chocolate bar (about three feet long) for her family. Me, Meghan, Liz, and Lorenza went on the tour thingie four times. It was a day well...er, wasted. -.-
Lastly, I'll throw in this tidbit about the Pennsylvania Posse. There's ten of us (two boys and eight girls o_O), with five now in eigth grade and five now freshman. Four girls and a guy on each side, too. ^^; We're nutty people, kinda insane while you're at it, who kept quoting Azumanga Daioh, Dr. Demento (mainly "singing" his songs), and playing Mad Libs. Oh man, if you have a bunch of friends with you and you're going on a trip, bring Mad Libs. The ten of us alone filled out every single story left in Liz's book. -__- And now, the members:

Me (Oboe) (8th)
Lorenza (French horn) (8th)
Allyson/Waffle-chan (Alto sax) (Freshman)
Erin (French horn) (Freshman)
Aaron (Alto sax) (8th)
Liz (Flute) (8th)
Meghan (Flute) (8th)
Logan (Alto sax) (Freshman)
Marissa (Baritone) (Freshman)
Rochelle (Trombone) (Freshman)

Unique, neh? ^_~

   Drumroll please!
You knew it was coming to this, so....*drumroll in background*
TA-DAAAA! Fourth quarter report card! ^^ (No surprises there, huh? My report card seems to be the feature of this place...)
Science: A!
Literature: A!
German: A!
English: A! (*nearly dies from shock*)
Social Studies (History): A!
Math: A!
Gym: A!
Band: A!
OVERALL GPA: 4.000!!!

*does the happy dance in her happy pants* The German teacher, Mrs. DeVries, gave me two comments: "Good class participation" and "Excellent effort". *!Shock!* 'cause I hated German!
Mr. Vandenbosch (band) also gave me "Good class participation".
And it keeps getting better for me! Tomorrow, at five (pm) I leave my house and won't return for SEVEN DAYS! SEVEN DAYYYYS! Why? BAND TRIP TO PENNSYLVANIA!!! *squeels, scaring the hell outta Mr. Vandenbosch*. We're going to Hershey/Gettysburg for about five concerts, and the rest of the time is spent at the Battle of Gettysburg battle grounds, screwing around the hotel, and scaring the hell out of innocent pedestrians! But the most definite best part of the trip is...
I'm making history.
I'm making history as being apart of the FIRST, lemme repeat, FIRST civillian band to EVER play at Arlington National Cemetery. You thought that honor would be reserved for some high-class university band, or a highly-rated group of adults instead of a bunch of hyper-active sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth graders, huh? Nope, it's all for us.
Your dearest Katana is playing the Oboe under the name of Ginger H*****(rest of last name bleeped for security purposes).
*sighs* You can't even begin to comprehend the feeling that someone like me, some arrogant, amateur 12-year-old is making history instead of some polite, professional 43-year-old. It's a feeling of overwhelming joy and fun, but most of all, honor, pride, and importance.
I think I'll quit before I go on rambling again.
See ya next Thursday...
-Katana
PS: If you can't tell, I drank two cups of coffee before writing this post...

Mmmm...working on a history project, and thought I'd take a little break. Like two minutes.
We're doing the civil war, and it's lots of fun. Kinda. I'm a Confederate, only because my two best buds are Confeds. And I act out dying pretty well. ^^
Today, we played battle Jeopardy...and a once 110 point lead we had is now down to fourty. O_O AHHH!!!
Gotta get back ta work...later!
