Spring Break, Day 1
If you read el comments from below *points*, you'll see somebody called Angel of Life. Well, that's my friend Ben. Err, from school. And if you're wondering about "placing third" and stuff, then...don't. ><;; He'll insult me to no end, and that's what I'll do to him. *grins crazily*
Buwahaha, it seems most of you are fooled by the fact that I am only in eighth grade! XD See my freinds, having good writing skills is a great way to trick people. But this is me:
Random Person #1: "Woah, I thought you were in high school."
Random Person #2: "You're only in eighth grade...?"
Katana: ...*sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop* "LOOK AT MY DOB! August 2nd, 1991! I'm only 13!"
XD
Well, um, anyways...
Like the title says, this is the first day of spring break for me. Yes, we got Good Friday off, but as an "institute" day. You know, seperation of church and state and all. >.>
I didn't win Young Authors, which made me pissed. I know one of the kids that won the fiction category, and he's in sixth grade. He was the second person announced, which means the first person was also in sixth grade. So tell me, how do two sixth graders win over my Revival? Although, I think I didn't win because I won last year, and, well, you know, "equality for all". But the good news is that my buddy Lorenza won for the non-fiction category.
Non-fiction goes totally against our writing styles. Hell, we ONLY write fiction! But she wrote a book about her dog Dakota during the week following his death. Dakota was a German Sheperd/Husky mix, and he was barely one year old. He had one blue eyes, one brown eyes, and he was a hyper pooch with a big heart. I liked to call him Numbnut because he was kinda dumb, but still so sweet. Well, he got hit by a car and died on his way to the animal hospital. As Lorenza put it, "Heh. He got a good chunk of their bumper." She wrote the book about his life, but mainly about the accident, and I can fully see why it was chosen as a winner. I will always miss Dakota, and their house seems empty without him.
