I rock XD
Squeee!!! My article about FMA has been posted! ^^ I worked pretty damn hard on that thing! >.> Lots of internet research 'n stuff. Da net is your best tool in these cases. XD And I'm glad to see ya people like it! I'm all gidy...
We got Hikari in band on Monday. Well, actually, Mr. V had put three new scores in the folder slots, and there, right on top, was Hikari. =^.^= I'm so happy! We played it during Tuesday - the entire band period ('bout forty-three minutes). I'll be honest and say that it needs a lot of work. I think it would be helpful if Mr. V actually played the track to the band a second time...he played it for them, but way back in Janurary. It's very choppy in places. But me, Meg-chan, and Lorenza were all pumped on playing the piece.
Hikari is totally different from what we normally play. With a lot of the pieces we get, various groups of instruments are featured here and there. But not Hikari - nope, Shimmumura-san seemed excited and wanted the piece to flow. MAJESTIC!!! It sounds extremely different from everything else...and I love it.
For once, me and mah buddies in band (that would be me (duh), Lorenza, Meg-chan, Liz, and Ryu-chan) have an advantage over the whole band - even Mr. Vandenbosch. We've heard Hikari way too many times and know how everything fluctuates (*giggles*). We frown upon parts that sound craptacular in band that sound awesome in the music. Our favorite mis-hap, though, is the huge symbol crash. Okay, lemme try and desribe the part...
Where it would be in the lyrical part, "Don't get me wrong I love you, but does that mean I have to meet - your father" is this excited flurry of soft but strong brass. Then, right at the gap of "meet - your father" is this huge symbol crash and it sounds spiffy. Well, the symbol player kinda sucks (because most drummers don't have too many brain cells in 'em >.>) and played it not only weaky, but a beat AFTER! >< Holy crap I was pissed.

We also got our report cards Monday. ^_^

I was dancing around my homeroom while some kids stared me down to hell after I exclamied about my 4.0. Mrs. Hogan (the one who told me to go ahead and take over the world last quarter XD) gave me the "atta girl!" compliment. I even told her about my myOtaku AND the comment on how crazy she is.
Mrs. Hogan: Well gee, you should just go and teach 'em a lesson!
Me: I dunno...I kinda like the position I keep on that network...=_=;;
