Prologue

A night, a dark night. Only the stars shone very dimly. The moon reflecting more light than anything else in this dark night. A boy, a boy is out on this night wandering the streets in this cold frosty January. A box lays in front of him, a brown box pointy on all edges old with dust and webs. The boy moves closer to the box and reaches his hand +toward the bow and picks it up. Brown box in the boy’s hand, light as a feather in the light breeze. A temptation in the boy’s heart tells him to open it.
As swift as the night breeze that send a shiver down the boy’s spine made the boy open up the box. Green light encircled the boy the boy felt frighten as he saw demons and a ton of other terrifying creatures.
“Thank you for letting us free, boy, I respect you,” boomed a voice out of the green shadows. The boy stood still, frightened of who this voice belonged to. “Now boy let me use your body as my vessel to rid this world of all that’s good”! The boy then seen who the voice belonged to as it came closer and went into his body.

Chapter 1
The night something NEW happened

Another day at school, a 15 year old boy by the name of Kudan was once again staring out the window of his English class. He had black hair and brown eyes. He is not the brightest of all, but when he is in trouble his brain knows what to do.
Brrriinnnggg! Went the final bell of the day, now everyone cane go home and do their homework. Kudan goes to a Japanese school called Kyoto Jr. high and he hates it there. His attitude is all right, but don’t get him too mad.
The walk home is the one thing he hates the most about the day. He gets mad and jealous because other kids go home to parents or siblings, but he has neither. Kudan lives in a two bedroom and half bathroom apartment. Kudan turns the corner to get to his house and climbs the steps to get there. Inside is a reddish color carpet that seems to have a lot of stains in it. His room was small and had two windows that where full of dirt that it was amazing that he could see passersby. Kudan put his stuff on the small coffee table and went for the couch to watch TV, not even caring about homework.
“ Another day passed and the same thing always happens.” said disappointed Kudan. He lay on the couch with his brown tee shirt and blue jeans, not a care in the world about the things around him.
“How could you!” yelled Kudan’s neighbor as a huge bang was heard through the wall shaking a picture off the wall, making it crash on the floor. Kudan went to go see what it was and saw it was the picture of his late family. There was a man on the right , his father, who looked a little like Kudan the height, hair, and eyes. The woman on the left was his mother. She was a very pretty woman with a little like brownish gold and only like an inch shorter than Kudan or his father. With the broken glass on the floor Kudan could not just leave it so he went straight to the broom cupboard. Inside was a brown broom that looked it could have been used in the middle ages. Kudan starts sweeping when he heard,” You bitch!” and another object fell off the wall. The only problem was that this was 10 times the size of that picture and it came straight for Kudan.
The object hit the floor like five feathers. BAM, another hit against the wall from the neighbor that probably caused the whole apartment to shake. This time it caused a piece of the wall to come down that was 10 times the size and weight of an 10 pound picture frame heading straight for Kudan’s head. Kudan barley missed the chunk of wall , but it got the broom instead, breaking it in half. The only thing to do now is to buy a new broom, so he left for the store.
The store was packed as usual and it was hard to even move there. Mothers holding their children’s hands making Kudan feel a little upset. Kudan found the broom and started leaving for home. The sky and the things around Kudan have gone dark. The only things that can be seen are the dim flicker of the street lamps and the shine of the moon and stars. The rout that Kudan usually takes to his house is through the park and he doesn’t care if it is dark or not.
The park was just as dark as the streets and maybe even darker. Kudan started to walk when he heard the sound of crunching grass. Kudan turned to look and seen that it was no one , not a piece of grass or a bush.
“Must have not that big then,” concluded Kudan and he continued, but the second he started to move he heard the sound again. His heart racing Kudan continued to walk, but the faster he will walk the louder and closer the sounds will come. Finally Kudan said,” Okay come out who ever you are, show yourself”! Not the next second later a boy about Kudan’s age come out of the bushes not two steps away.
“ Hey don’t harm me Kudan, it’s me, you know Sai,” said the boy.
“ Who are you?” replied Kudan not even recognizing the boy’s face. The boy, Sai, wore a blue shirt that said “none of your business” and blue jeans.
“ You know me I’m in your English class, do you remember?” asked Sai with grief in his eyes. Kudan did seem to know him a little bit, but not all that much, in fact he had only seen him twice.
“You’re right I do know you!” said a shocked Kudan.
“Yea and do you know what else I am besides your peer?” questioned Sai.
“No I hardly even know you, I’ve seen you like once or twice, if that.” answered Kudan.
“Well then I think it’s time I show you what I am then isn’t it?” said Sai with the strangest look in his eye that only Kudan has seen in werewolf moves. Kudan blinked to try to get the look of Sai’s eyes out of his, and when he opened them the new broom in his hands was split in half through the middle where the wood is the hardest. The thing, though, in front of Kudan’s eyes made his eyes open wide in horror to the monstrosity that stood in front of him.

Chapter 2
Soul and the Hunter

The broken broom was still held in the hands of Kudan. Kudan felt frozen there on that spot. He couldn’t move, for some reason the thing in front of him mad him still as concrete. His gray color eyes stared in front of him looking at a monster that used to be Sai. A grayish color creature stood in front of Kudan, eyes wide, ready to pounce. Claws 6 inches long and eyes that have a red gleam to them. The monster had no more shirt on for its mass has tore it apart. Kudan knew he had to get away, he wanted to run, get help, and stay alive.
“Today, today is going to be the day I die… I guess.” Kudan said to himself, “but, I’m not going down without a fight!” Kudan got one half of the broken broom and charged at the monster knowing that he stood no chance against it, alone.
“Good boy, throw yourself at my claws and let me eat you, bones and all.” said Sai.
WAIT!!! “Eat me?” asked Kudan to Sai.
“Sure, why waste good meat. Especially when its coming right at you. That’s what I did to this boy Sai, why not do this to another person. Because this is fun and who knew humans tasted sooooo good?” replied Sai. Kudan stopped in his tracks, sending a little cloud after him. Do I want to do this. Kudan asked himself. If I try to attack he can easily tear me to pieces with those claws of his. God, what to do?
“Fine kid, if you don’t want to become my free meal, then I will make you come!” Sai charged for Kudan with no other thought in his head beside food. At that moment right when Sai was about a foot away from Kudan, with his jaws open, a purple light came in front of Kudan, shielding Sai from him. As the light started to disappear Kudan saw a figure stand right above him. This… whatever was floating, which could mean one thing, this guy was a ghost.
“who are you?” Asked Kudan to the man.
“A phantom of souls, or should I say, a soul hunter.”
