A young boy who went by the name of Shinta, was traveling with his family and village when they were all atacked by bandits. Everyone was killed except for Shinta who was left to live on his own. Soon after the incident Shinta was found by a master swordsman named Seijuro Hiko. Siejuro takes Shinta under his wing and gives him the name Kenshin and teaches him the Hiten Mitsurugi sword technique. After years of training, Kenshin decides to leave his master and go to protect people with his sword. Not before long Kenshin becomes Hitokiri (assassin) for the Ishin Shishi. He kills many people and i s then known as Hitokiri Battousai. He then befriends a lady named Tomoe who Kenshin eventually falls in love with but as his life goes on this love only kills him inside causing the rest of his life to be very tragic and painful.
