   i are smrat.
finally figured out what 'confidence in my lines' means (from way back in february at a portfolio day, one school said this and i was mystified). it's like, knowing WHERE you want your lines to go, instead of just placing them everywhere and fixing it later. this was also a thing gov school tried to teach us, now i think about it. maybe that's why we only ever worked in charcoal (can't really erase)... anywho. submitted new fanart in trying to make myself do this. did alright, but was a bit awkward on placing the top of the head (clickit). i erased the few faded lines from my shammy when i was fixing the smudges i made when scanning it. that should teach me to scan charcoal w/o spraying it w/fixative. yes indeed. actually, what made it click was this drawing over at fred gallagher's art site (y'know, piro from megatokyo? the man's got a name you know, and considering he's as successful as he is, might as well use the real one). see? webcomics DO teach you things.

   redefinded rocks my socks!
adam, creating staff of this glorious update, i love you. that's all there is to it. best part: there's now an articles section. meaning i can expound my theories and thoughts on all the anime and manga i waste my time on. (and chew out all the people that claim kikyou to be evil--this bothers me for some weird reason)

don't tell your mom, or she'll think you're insane...
i'm out of school thursday and friday! although, i think this will technically post on thurs. myotaku's on eastern time i think. anywho. been wandering around wolf's rain sites, and i discover something i find odd. kiba wears chuck taylors. now, all i could think was, say wha? post-apocalyptic world, where people can barely feed themselves and there's a guy (wolf--whatever) running around wearing shoes as flimsy as chucks?! where'd he get them? find an abandoned chuck taylor factory?! ... hooray, i'm over analyzing! i'm just proud of me for making dinner without burning my house down. i even used the stove top! i am a GOD of hamburger helper!

santa claus IS real! he's really, really, real!
Flame of Recca anime OUT ON OCTOBER 26!!!!!! I MUST SPEND MONEY ON PURCHASING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O______O apparently, Animerica did a story on it and had a dvd of the first episode in it. I MUST GET THE ANIME SO I MAY WHINE ABOUT THE DUB AS ALL INSANE FANS DO! i also need to get volumes 6-9. see, i downloaded a scanslation on the promise to myself that if it were ever released in the states, i'd buy it. and i intend to keep that promise. i just hope that with the anime they put more than 3 episodes a disc... viz has a bad habit of that i've noticed. (just checked. they did. jerks.)

in other news, am hopelessly addicted to Hot Gimmick by Miki Aihara. shoujo city, buddy. now i believe i'll go draw Ryoki... or Wolf's Rain, as i've wanted to for a while. or Recca, as it would reflect by boundless joy. or i could go make dinner as mommy's working late. hm. think i'll go ahead and finish dinner. or fry another egg. yum, eggs. i always feel bad about eating eggs. i really DO eat babies... yet i don't feel bad about eating chicken. huh.

No, Gir! These piggies are for science!
i miss invader zim (even though i just watched it. hoo ha!). in other news, i just discovered stephen hillenberg (creator of the spongey phenomenon of the square trousers) worked on Rocko's Modern Life back in the day. remember, with the wallaby that said "Laundry day is a very dangerous day," and male cow named Heifer raised by wolves, and Filbert. the turtle. y'know. "i'm nauseous, i'm nauseous, i'm nauseous..." sigh. back in the day of good nicktoons. never liked ren and stimpy though. REALLY ought to be working on my drawing assignment, or my studio homework. or calculus, for once. bad move to make math homework optional with me, which is what the teacher did. ::shrug:: hmm. think i'll go find the lyrics to "Valse de la Lune." (got wolf's rain soundtrack! listened to it for like 2 and a half days straight. it's that good. ::slobber::)

   yeeeeee-haw, we all gon'die!
in the styles of jeff foxworthy, i will describe what has happened to me, so to speak. ahem. you might be a redneck if you put a little t.v. in front of the big t.v. to get picture in picture! this is what is happening in my home. the big t.v. (the 13 year old one that's moved 6 times) finally died. so, my mom moves the little one from her room to the living room, but instead of moving the now dead t.v., she just gets my bedside table and sticks the little t.v. on top of it. we decided this is the arkansan's p.i.p.

in other news. i'm stupid. wolf's rain isn't over at all, as several people have been gently hinting/telling me. i'm just dumb. go me! and j-pop is good for working. i just wrote my response to Grendel, and cleaned the kitchen in under an hour and 15 minutes. and i listen to it in comm art, and get lots of work done. actually discovered this via my friend kina (a.k.a. the miyavi supplier) as she loaned me j-pop c.d.'s in Area 1 (the art class. classes were called areas. odd yes. oh at governor's school, remember, where i was all summer). but this has been a good weekend. got 11 hours at work (this is a lot for one weekend for me), saw new Wolf's Rain, new Samurai Jack (LuLu. Sweet thing), AND new Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. AND my friend burned me a copy of the wolf's rain soundtrack! plus, my grandpa and grandma are giving me their old van once i get my liscense! AND to top it all off, i had ice cream and didn't get sick! (i've a slight milk allergy) ::happiness abounds::

now i'm off to see if my milk luck holds, i.e. veez-a-vee, get some ice cream. doubt it does, but it's caramel turtle ice cream, and i'm getting it while we've got it.

pantyhose and jujyfruits
don't kill me. apparently, wolf's rain DID have one more episode. dur dur dur. yup. there's the closure i was looking for. and i cried. i REALLY think it's over now. adult swim's schedule isn't up, but last weekend all it said for the episode title for tonight was 'Wolf's Rain' so i assumed it was over. i lost count somewhere or something. either way. i did cry. don't laugh. it was sad. not all out bawling mind you (it is only a t.v. show) but i did cry a little. am so buying this after paying my passport application fees.

   pantstastic!
started photoshop 'painting' in honor of the end of Wolf's Rain. note the phrase 'in honor.' Wolf's Rain is one of the most beautiful television animated series i've seen. i'm an animation nit-picker, and i can't find a thing wrong with it. which makes me so happy i could cry. one i'd actually buy. and i don't buy anime. at all. i'll buy movies, but not the anime itself. i'm so going to try to get myself this anime.

sigh. i want painter so bad.
