blame kina
i am now completely and utterly addicted to a j-rock artist named Miyavi. stinking tariffs and what not, making Miyavi c.d.'s expensive...
hehe, fun Beatles quote i learned at gov school:
reporter: so, how do you find america?
john lennon (?): turn left at greenland.
and that's what we call a matrix cross! ::slaps forearms together in 'x' shape:: (ph34r the inside jokes of gov school). come on, any place you can discuss the philosophical significance of monty python's flying circus and mystery science theater 2000 is AWESOME. (ironically, both lectures were given by the same guy, walchak (who kicks!))

hoo hum.
well, i finally made a decision i've not been wanting to for a while. i've decided to quit my museum. you know the one, i've talked about it before, children's museum close by to me, worked there since 8th grade. see, thing is, i can't make 200 dollars a month there, which is what i'll need to make my part of the car payment. yeah, i'm getting a car. inheriting my sister's old one, anyway. actually, the main thing is that i hate my boss. part of the reason i enjoyed the museum so much was the social aspect of it, and the new boss has ruled that there will only be one volunteer in the museum at a time (the thing i did for money was host children's birthday parties, developing a hatred for cake and the birthday song), thus completly removing the social aspect. i made some of my best friends there, and will hate to leave itbut i have to move on sometime i guess, but still, it's really depressiong that i'm leaving it because of a new stinking rule and boss. she doesn't like me too much either, probably because i often seem to think i know more than she does about the museum (which i do considering i've worked there for 5 years and she's worked there for what, 2 monthes?, but that's beside the point). sadness. i'm going to go fill out the common app thing now.

returned! wooaw!
Governor's school was AWESOME. seriously, U.S. folks, if your state offers a governor's school program, GO!! if it's anything like arkansas' it'll be awesome. heard some really great people, interesting ideas, just all around GREATNESS.
aaaanywho. i'm back, aren't you all thrilled? i'll try to post some form of art, but i don't think i did anything at all suitable for here at AGS, so i haven't got much... whatever, you should all be overjoyed at my returned presence.

heh heh.
been home for the 4th of July break since sunday (go back this afternoon). totally forgot to post, ^_^;;. so yeah. governor's school is really fun. the visual arts program was a bit disappointing at first (we're stuck with charcoal as our ONLY media), but i'm starting to get used to it, so yeah. ^__^ worked a bit on a Metropolis paper Rain Phantom requested, but i'm really not happy with it. think i'll just go ahead and submit it, i'm too annoyed with it to do much else with it. i'm getting the hang of painting, though, much to my own glee.

Donald's middle name is Fauntleroy. You need to know these things.
well, got my driving permit today. i know, 17 and only just now getting the permit (for people outside of the states, legal driving age is 16, but you can get a permit at 14, and i assume you can guess that a permit allows one to drive in the company of a liscensed adult (21 and up where i am, 18 in most other places). but yeah, i'm a disgrace to my age group, i have no interest in driving whatsoever. ::shrug:: now i'm going to scamper off and hunt for Metropolis images. whee.
hm. 2 minutes later. pittling about on the metropolis official site, and discovered that Astro Boy was born of April of last year (his b-day is 4-7-03 according to Tezuka's story) and is actually being made into a hollywood live action film. craziness. course it looks like this site is about 2 years old, so there's no telling. more factoids. huzzah.

holy crapola
i've only seen the first part of the Real Folk Blues once (finale to Cowboy Bebop). i just saw the last part. I LIVE IN EFFING ADORATION OF THOSE ANIMATORS AND SHINICHIRO WATANABE. my effing GOD that was awesome. (remember, folks--alison's an animation buff! lives and breathes it, life long dream since age 3, it says so over there ::points::. this reaction out of me to a TV animation is incredibly rare, haven't really had the same reaction since the premiere of Samurai Jack).
oh Trigun's coming on. i despise them for sticking that fantastic manga with such a subpar anime for it. Trigun's anime is almost worse than FoR's, and that's saying something (yes, the FoR anime's quality is pretty sad, considering Studio Pierrot also did the Saiyuki and Fushigi Yuugi animes, both of which are MUCH better (i assume for FY anyway)). Diablo's one of their best episodes in my opinion, quality wise (and story wise), and i think the reason i'm always 'curse them! we hates them, precious!' on the Trigun anime is because of Escape From Pain. (Murder Machine has moments of crapdom too. poor Wolfwood) that one's quality (Escape From Pain i mean) was horrendous. i dunno, they're all tolerable at least. gah, i'm ranting. i can't really make a good opinion on trigun at the moment, it's been too long since i watched the whole series. ::shrug:: yes. yes i am over analytical. just think though, you just have to put up with me till saturday, and then you'll be kephren-free for six glorious weeks while she's gallavanting around governor's school, trying to figure out what the crap her friend meant when he ordered her to 'discover the ducky' when she got there. and painting. lots. oh ho ho.

flying monkeys!
finished rurouni kenshin wallpaper for articflames43--am going to submit it in just a moment. and before you ask, yes. i used another george eliot quote. "consequences are unpitying. our deeds carry their terrible consequences, quite apart from any fluctuations that went before--consequences that are hardly ever confined to ourselves." i promise, it's the last one. i think. i hope. probably. yeah. woo, tomoe! now i'm going to go pop some more tylenol for the killer head ache in my head and mourn the One Piece anime (which i just found out--via rustym's site--has been liscensed by 4kids, the pokemon people). ::sadness::

and then the world blew up.
heh heh. let's clear one thing before i go on. i am INSANELY competitive as far as my wallpapers go. i've no idea why. each time i'm on here, i check most of their download stats, and if i'm particularly fond of one, i check to see how many more it needs to beat the next and then hope a couple more people download it. and each time i note that one has gone up in standing, i just kinda go 'score!' in my head (and occasionally aloud). i know i shouldn't, but i still do. which is why i'm INSANELY pleased with my Cowboy Bebop wallpaper, which is in the top 3 of all the Bebop wallpapers! i know, i know, i shouldn't be so happy about it since it's really not a big deal, but i am! i love making wallpapers, and i love the fact other people like mine enough to use them on their own computers! ^_^ thanks to all who downloaded it, and any of my others for that matter! also note, if you have a 1280x1024 resolution monitor, and would like one of my wallpapers to fit that resolution, just drop me a line via e-mail, and i'll e-mail you the size you want, since i convert most to that size for my own use. i even make some to fit locked start bars (on top or bottom, no sides) so you can still see the whole image (and on 1280x1024, it also helps with the stretching look some take when expanded). i also take requests on wallpapers, so if there's a certain anime/image/sentiment you want in one, just leave a comment on it and i'll do it. the kare-kano wallpaper and sacrifice FoR papers were both requests, for example. i've got a lot of time on my hands, what can i say.
