oh yeah. here's an interesting little factoid i heard at the portfolio day last weekend from scad. if you can draw hands and feet, you can draw anything. anybody think it's true? or a complete load of crock?

garragh!
okay. DO NOT BUY JASC PAINTSHOP PRO 7. it SUX. i REALLY wish i had gotten adobe photoshop or illustrator. i mean, just to simply color an image in Paintshop, you have to have 3 layers. THREE! GAAAH! and then if you want to color pencil, forget it. unless you LIKE sitting there for countless hours cleaning the thing. siiigh. i'm gonna save up and buy photoshop i think. grarrgh.

but...on a better note. my mom's going to have the compy formatted over x-mas break. and have an external hardrive and cd burner installed. meaning i can download manga w/o feeling guilty.

   Portfolio day!
i went to the local portfolio day today! it went pretty, i think. they all said i was pretty good, that i was in a good place for a junior. but best of all, the SCAD representative seemed REALLY enthusiastic about my stuff, he told me to work on backgrounds. the Maryland Institute College of Art guy also said backgrounds and to use my sketchbook to draw from life. the AR State person wasn't quite as helpful, neither was the Memphis College of Art. Henderson University told me to be more confident in my lines (yeah, i'm still not sure what he meant). the one piece the all really seemed to like was my hand study, which is VERY good.

   aaah!!!!!
i forgot to tell you guys this but guess whaaaaat?!!! I GOT NOMINATED FOR GOVERNER'S SCHOOL FOR LANGUAGE ARTS!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! i am like crazy excited! ahahahahaha!!!! but i still hafta go nominate myself for visual arts, and poke my art teachers to give me recommendations. still. YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! seriously. just GOING to a governor's school type program is such a good thing for scholarships. ehehehehe! i am freaking ECSTATIC. (yeah, if you haven't guessed by now, i am a book GEEK and PROUD OF IT! future bosses of america, bay-bay!)

being the wonderfully kind person i am, i'm digging through my sketchbook (my current one!) to find something to post. actually, it's pure self-satisfaction. i just feel like it. because i don't want to do chemistry homework. yeah, i know. procrastination is baaad. ::shrug:: crap. i have a test in there. eh heeeh... oh! umm. 207 visits. yay. no this isn't about MKR so don't get excited. i just like the noise. GUESS WHAT?!!!! there's gonna be a National Portfolio Day in my town this saturday!!! aaah! now. for those of you who don't know, a Portfolio day is for students that want to go into the art field for a living (like meee!) and what they do is they can bring in their stuff, and have it reviewed! and there'll be a lot of different art schools and it'll be sooo cool! XD i am SO going. and i'm going to be so happy. ecstatic. like jumping out of my sox! also, i'm going to be applying for employment at a local target tomorrow. wish me luck!
