today i went 25.5 feet in the air to change a light bulb.
i am coated in garbage juice. oh dear lord. that's the bad thing about door. taking out trash bags bigger than you. i also scared the manager and the other guy taking trash out with me by cussing the bags of trash out.

soda is heavier than you think.

hmm hmm hmm, what to say what to say.

well. batman begins (i finally see it after everyone else) kicked 20 kinds of crazy ass. it rocked my socks off. the only thing was i saw the closed caption one so in tense moments when 'suspenseful music plays in the background' it kinda ruined the effect. so i'll have to see it again.

not because i want to or anything. for full dramatic effect. seriously. not because i'm in love with that movie, and subsequently christopher nolan and christian bale or anything of that nature.
...
oh. and also not because i get in free. it's all to get the full dramatic effect. yeah.

and speaking of batman: i saw some batman comics at barnes that were looking damn nifty. Batman Hush, some by i believe the name was Loeb, and another by Akimiya or something like that. are any of these worth checking out? cause alison saw some stark b&w cover art on some of those, and we all know what a skank she is for stark b&w art.

by now you should realize how disdainful i am
if you haven't read snow fox's latest article, you really ought to. especially if you're one of those folks that thinks manga is always superior to any other form of sequential art (and if you do, i'm sorry, but i think you are damn stupid and missing out on some great comics (which gasp manga is in the long run)).

to every teen titans cartoon fan in the world:
the teen titans cartoon currently running on cartoon network is NOT an anime. plain and simple. it may look like an anime, the characters may act like anime characters, but the series is NOT an anime series.

now i hear all of you saying "W-T-F, alishon, whachu talkin'bout? teen titans iz tot'lly anime, it looksh it and it'sh all that action shtuff! L-O-L'z!"
but you see, there is this teensy, tiny, but oh-so-crucial little detail you're forgetting:

ANIME IS A GENRE OF ANIMATION CREATED AND PRODUCED IN JAPAN PRIMARILY FOR A JAPANESE AUDIENCE (i.e.: using japanese cultural references freely and originally created in the japanese language).

so why the japanese opening song? ::scoff:: it's totally NOT to make attract the rather large audience base anime fans have now suddenly created. no. not at all. crazy. also crazy to say that the whole art choice is merely riding the popularity of anime currently and capitalizing on an audience with fat pockets (look at the utter cheaply made crap we fans will buy. and yes, i'm included in this generalization. i've bought my fair share of crap)...

::sigh:: i feel so much better. that sort of global-ownership bit a lot of americans have toward so many thins

if you give a mouse a cookie.
if you give alison a twenty dollar bill, she will want to go to the book store.

if you let alison go to the book store, she will want to buy a book.

if you let her buy a book, she will undoubtedly head straight for the comics.

if you let her head to the comics, she will of course want Trigun Maximum v. 2.

if you ler her get trigun maximum v. 2, she will then wish to return home to read it.

on the way home, you will pass burger king. she will of course wish to purchase a happy meal to take home to eat since there's really nothing good there. not really. nothing she won't have to cook anyway. it's certainly not for the toy anyway. ::cough::

if you let her get her happy meal and go home, she will eat while reading Trigun, making quite a mess since she's not watching what she's doing.

once she finishes reading trigun, she will reawaken her dormant addiction to the series and wish to purchase another.

if you let her fulfill her desire, she'll undoubtedly go to the bank and get a 20 dollar bill.

...
this sums up my day. ::sigh::
i loved those books as a kid.
