four-eyed, blue-winged, symbols of god's knowledge and fury = fat babies with ineffectual wings
angelology is interesting. been talking to a catholic friend and asked her about cherubs. she went and looked it up, and tells me they're "pictured as four-eyed, blue-winged, and presenting a book, representative of their great knowledge." and they went from that, to fat babies with tiny wings. what has history done to the cherubim, i ask you.
