to every teen titans cartoon fan in the world:
the teen titans cartoon currently running on cartoon network is NOT an anime. plain and simple. it may look like an anime, the characters may act like anime characters, but the series is NOT an anime series.
now i hear all of you saying "W-T-F, alishon, whachu talkin'bout? teen titans iz tot'lly anime, it looksh it and it'sh all that action shtuff! L-O-L'z!"
but you see, there is this teensy, tiny, but oh-so-crucial little detail you're forgetting:
ANIME IS A GENRE OF ANIMATION CREATED AND PRODUCED IN JAPAN PRIMARILY FOR A JAPANESE AUDIENCE (i.e.: using japanese cultural references freely and originally created in the japanese language).
so why the japanese opening song? ::scoff:: it's totally NOT to make attract the rather large audience base anime fans have now suddenly created. no. not at all. crazy. also crazy to say that the whole art choice is merely riding the popularity of anime currently and capitalizing on an audience with fat pockets (look at the utter cheaply made crap we fans will buy. and yes, i'm included in this generalization. i've bought my fair share of crap)...
::sigh:: i feel so much better. that sort of global-ownership bit a lot of americans have toward so many thins
