   Story time!
here is the next little bit of my story!!

Khrys gulped nervously. They had stopped in front of a plain wooden door. It looked quite forbidding. Trista said without turning around, “This is your room, Khrys. It has been furnished as we thought you might like it. You can make any changes you wish. I will come get you tomorrow at 7:30am. You should be dressed comfortably, though not for training. Understood?” Khrys said yes quietly. Trista opened the door without any ceremony.
The first thing that struck Khrys was the beautiful dark blue, silver, and black colors. She loved those colors. The simple yet elegant furniture was all made of ebony and the dark blue bedspread had silver dragons embroidered on it that you could see only if you looked closely. Khrys looked around harder and saw that there was a lot of the subtle silver enhancements. There was a large fireplace at the end of the large room; two bookshelves stood to either side. The shelves were filled with all of her favorite books. “Close your mouth, girl, or you might catch a fly,” Trista admonished. Khrys’s teeth clacked together as she complied hastily. “I shall see you tomorrow,” Trista said, and left the room.
Khrys explored the rest of the room, and the spacious bathroom and full closet. She wondered dazedly onto a balcony that looked over a gorgeous garden and an ocean shore. She watched the sun set, and felt a stab of loneliness and homesickness. She knew she would never see her family again. Trying to escape her pain, Khrys went to bed early that night.

C&C appreciated very much!

   meh
I'm......kinda bored. kinda happy. kinda sad. I'm complicated...My personality has lots of opposites in it. Its very confusing for me. I have WAY too many beginnings of stories lying around. Most are less than five pages. I don't have any homework, which is a very good thing. I don't know what else to say, so, that's all, folks.

   'nother poem
this one came into being when we had to write an extended metaphor poem in school last year. I entered it in an art contest that our English teacher made us enter, but it didn't win any prizes. oh well. here it is:

Thunderstorm

He shows his anger and might
Through his growling and roaring.
Glaring daggers at the sea,
But never truly scoring.
A boat scrambles from his power,
Oarsmen strongly rowing.

Winds whirling wildly,
His breath pummels the ocean.
The water cowers away,
The surface whipped to motion.
He revels in his massive strength
And releases pent up emotion.

He saddens as the sun returns
And pelts the sea with tears.
His short reign is ended
By the appearance of what he fears.
The sun reclaims the sky as hers
And the clouds, banished, clear.

well? what do you think? oh, yeah, would you please give me a hug? I'll be very happy every time I get one!

   er, poem
here is a poem I wrote.

Fate

The tapestry before you
Depicts your life,
With its ups and downs,
Smiles and frowns.
Yet you are caught up
In one little knot
That is a single problem
In a whole life of glory.

You can’t feel the storm for the breeze,
Just like you can’t see the forest for the trees.

You try to untangle
The minor difficulty,
While opportunity knocks,
And destiny calls.
Your future slips
Into a dark void
As you are lost in details
That are trivial.

You can’t feel the storm for the breeze
Just like you can’t see the forest for the trees.

Fate culminates.
Everything screams for you to look past the knot,
To see your impending destiny come
Rushing down on dark wings.
Lives intertwine around you
In a maelstrom of
Thoughts and feelings.

You didn’t sense the storm for the breeze,
Just like you overlooked the forest because of the trees.

I'm seeing how y'all like it, then if you do like it, I might post some more...

   beginning
ok, here is the beginning of one of my stories. This is all I have so far. I have written some poems too, if anyone wants to read them...here goes!

Ch. 1

Khrys stared at the raised dais at the end of the hall. Seven stern looking adults sat in chairs on the decorated platform. Each chair was different, ranging from plain and stark to comfortable to throne-like, depending on the personality of the person sitting in it. Six of the adults were men. The one sitting in the middle on a tall wooden chair with carvings of griffins on it was a woman and obviously the leader. Khrys gulped nervously. She had been trying to go to sleep one night and was staring at a star. The starlight grew brighter and brighter until she couldn’t see anything other than the light. Then she had a strange feeling of disorientation. When the light faded a few moments later, she was in an unfamiliar room. It was stark and white. A man she had never seen before walked up to her and said, “Welcome, young one, to the headquarters of the organization called Crisis. You have been chosen to train as a warrior of Crisis.” He went on to explain how the organization sought out people who had power in them and brought them to the headquarters to be trained when they were of the right age.
That was a few days ago. Now she was in front of the High Council of Crisis to be tested and find out how she would train for the next few years. Khrys eyed the woman in the middle chair warily. The woman had an almost visible aura of power. Her dark brown hair had silvery edges and was tightly pulled back in a braid. Her eyes were a strange color, a blue-gray around the edge and a light brown, almost yellow, in the center. They possessed hidden depths and a spark smoldered within them. She was tall and muscularly slender. She radiated confidence and majesty.
“So,” said a man to the left of the center. He had graying hair and a rugged look about his person. Khrys tore her eyes away from the woman and looked at the man speaking. “We have found another girl with so much potential that we, the High Council, have to test her.”
“That’s what, the fifth this week?” said a blond man at the far right end of the dais. His eyes were bright blue and he was very handsome.
“Enough of this chit-chat! Are we here to talk or test this girl?” the woman spoke. Her voice was dark and beautiful while at the same time being commanding, harsh and cold. Khrys wondered how anyone’s voice could have such different tones in it at once, but she loved it even while being scared of it. The spark in the woman’s eyes suddenly burst into flame. Khrys felt a strange awareness enter her mind. It felt of a raging fire that nothing could put out and a freezing cold that nothing could warm or dispel. It fit the woman perfectly. Other awarenesses entered, but they were less powerful than the first. Khrys gasped as a feeling almost like pain, but much more exhilarating rose from within her, strong enough to overwhelm the other consciousnesses if it hadn’t stopped suddenly. Khrys found herself lying on the floor, panting. The men on the dais looked haggard. The woman looked satisfied for some strange reason, but the expression was covered by a calm mask so quickly that Khrys wasn’t sure if she had actually seen it.
“This is quite unexpected. I shall have to teach her myself,” the woman said. The others stared incredulously at her. “The last girl was sent to the only person stronger than me that I trust to teach her, and this girl’s abilities match my own more closely,” she snapped at the men. She then turned to Khrys and her expression lightened into something almost like a smile. “My name is Trista. From this day, until you are ready to join Crisis as a fully-fledged warrior, I will be your teacher. Come with me.” Trista got up and stepped off the dais, nodded curtly to the men and led Khrys out of the hall. She strode through many different corridors and rooms that were strange and wondrous to Khrys’s eyes. Khrys stared at all of them, for they held odd and powerful-looking objects along with wondrous works of art that drew the eye. Others held even stranger things, such as one room that seemed to be in deep space and one that looked like the ocean floor. These were apparently holograms since Trista led Khrys through them like all of the others and nothing untoward happened.

what do you think?
