*sigh*
man, I had just typed up most of this post when the screens all disappeared. so now I have to start over. *ahem*
yesterday evening was crazy. we had to pull up some asphalt (horible spelling, I know) that used to be our carport and isn't now. first I started pulling it up with a pick. not fun. then Dad and I figured out we could put this thing on our tractor and it would pull it up easier. so we did that. Dad drove the tractor for a bit, then I drove it for the first time while he went and dumped the asphalt we had already pulled up in our creek. that was my first time driving the tractor.
~~Tractor issues~~
the shifting was really hard. the clutch had to be all the way down to shift and all the way down for the break to work, though pushing the clutch down at the slow speed I was going worked as a break. the clutch was hard to push down, though, especilly since I was too short for the seat. I had to practically stand on it for it to work. driving in reverse at times is really hard...especilly since that was my first time doing it. I also had to keep twisting my head around to watch what was going on. and my back was attacked by bugs. and then I got tired and wanted to get off, but I didn't know how to turn it off and couldn't figure it out.
~~other problems~~
we had to load the pulled-up asphalt onto a trailer. some of the pieces where pretty heavy. some my Dad couldn't even pick up. so I had to break them for him while he held them part of the way off the ground. the first time I broke one I used my foot. when it broke, Dad accidently dropped the part he had been holding onto my foot. after that I used a pick to break them. which hurt my hands and arms. and I got all sweaty and tired and I got a headache from the tractor.
whew. so now I'm a bit sore, tired, and my back itches. but I'm still pretty happy. I ordered the first Rurouni Kenshin box set for only $40 and I just drank a Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino. yum! sorry that was really long...hope y'alls week is going well! *hugs!
