Anime Expo reclaims its position as largest anime convention
Otakon has updated its attendence statistics for 2004 today. The final tally is 20,899 paid memberships, a growth of approximately 20% over last year, or 3500 attendees. Earlier this summer, Anime Expo announced over 25000 attendees.

Last year, Otakon edged out Anime Expo for largest anime convention in North America, with 17388 attendees to Anime Expo's approximate 17000.
