Chapter 3: Flash Back
Chapter 3; Flash Back

"Mommy!! Mommy don't go!! You gotta wake up! Wake up, mommy!!!" a little girl is by her mother's bedside and crying,
"I remember... it was raining that day...when my mother died..."
"Mommy, I promise I’ll get better! I promise!" the little girl fades away....
"It all started when I was born..."
"It’s a baby girl, and look, she has your eyes Kiza." a father, proud of life, is leaning over his newborn child and her mother. "I know, and she has your hair.... I’m sure she'll grow up to be a fine lady." the mother holds her up in the air and it fades black again."
"Then...my father left us..."
"Mommy, when will daddy return...?"
"Soon enough Miki.... soon enough." her mother smiles and picks her up, "now, lets go." the little girl nods and they start to walk toward a village. When they reach there, they are met with disdainful glares as they find their way towards the elder's hut in the center of it all. "Excuse me, but elder, may we, my child and I, stay in your village?"
"After that, my mother told me to go and play with the other kids while she talked to him.... we went from town to town, village to village in search for a home, but we never really found one... we stopped for a day in each town, and I got and education, but I was always picked on, by everyone there, my mom was busy alot so she couldn't walk with me, and everyday I came home with bruises, but I hid them, I never told her I was being bullied. Never. When my mom came home from work, she always helped me practice my skills in swordsmanship and in raising the dead...."

The images of Mikomi's childhood fade away and she returns to the present. She makes Sita stop and Bankuri, who was riding on her, looks at Miki, "so, you're back huh? I always find it so amazing when we're walking and all of a sudden you zone out, but still manage not to fall."
And yet another rock goes flying and hits him in the head and he falls off, "sorry, I saw another bug." Mikomi snickers, "now, what do you say we pay attention to the task at hand? Our friend headed west right? And where are we headed?"
"West?"
"Wrong, north, I’ve got some stuff to take care of, and besides, we should meet up with him sometime."
"Should we send something after him? You know, to keep an eye out?"
"Do as you wish..."
Bankuri whistles and a jet-black raven swoops down, Bankuri gives him the directions and it flies off towards the west. After watching the bird fly off they continue on their way and Bankuri looks at Miki, "Mikomi...what where you thinking about anyway?"
"It was nothing." Miki doesn't even bother to look at him; she just walks onward and pays no mind to him looking at her.
Bankuri looks back to the horizon and is pulling Sita along by the reigns, as Miki starts to drift off once again into her own mind...eventually they rest for the night (or at least Bankuri decides to nap on Sita as they continue on their way). After a while of traveling, they come upon a small, abandoned campsite and Miki looks around,
"Foolish humans...." she talks quietly as she sees blood all over, "they never should have been out here if they could not handle a little competition." Just then a swam of ogres come out from hiding to try and ambush her and the sleeping Bankuri. Mikomi takes a look around her and laughs mockingly "ha! Humans! Defeated by a band of low class ogres!?" Mikomi throws another rock and hits Bankuri again, "Bankuri! Wake up you idiot! It’s your turn to do the work!"
Bankuri falls off Sita and manages to fall back asleep again, so Miki calls Sita to give Miki her sword, "thanks Sita," Mikomi's sword is a halberd, with a club, the symbol of death, engraved in the blade. With one swing Mikomi wipes out the ogres in front of her. She decides to take mercy on them and leave the rest to Sita for her dinner. Once done, ever more blood is around, "guess I should have used a cleaner technique...oh well, what's done is done..." Mikomi pokes Bankuri with the sheath of her sword, "wake up you bum!!!"
