New Style

Current Mood: Customization-y Still
Current Song: Puddle of Mudd - Blurry

Alright, now that we can change the color of the inner layout, my thing here looks so much better. This is definately the best layout I've had since I started I think. Except maybe that orange one I had with the graphical background, that was pretty cool.

Anyway, I was working on layouts some more today (because it's so easy to fix the coding after photoshop does an automatic coding job for you), and I made a layout similar to the one my schoolmate made that I linked to in my previous post. I'm definately going to use this as a v2 layout for my portfolio.

Screenshot

I'd really like to start trying flash layouts out though, but I'm sure it'd be incredibly hard, because I have no prior experience. We'll see what happens.

Websites galore.

Current Mood: Customization-y
Current Song: Bad Religion - Infected

Well now. I really like the new customization options that myOtaku has. The biggest things I was hoping for were the inner table color and site border. I hated that you could never change those, and now you can. The problem, is that I enjoy my current layout :p Once I get bored of it though, I'll test out the new options.

I also have a portfolio website now, where I post my artwork and past websites. Rhapsodi. The boxes on the actual layout are a play off of Tony's Binary layout, but I tried to keep them different. I just liked the effect he got, so I played around have.

It actually took me about one hour to make and code the layout, which is cool for me, because it's probably the best I've made. Or so I think anyway. Another layout that I've had for probably two years (the one I used to do my anime website on) is here. That used to be my favorite layout, but I love this one much more.

For the next version of my portfolio, I'm going to try a minimal approach, much like the other portfolios you see out there. A senior from my school last year (who I wasn't very fond of) makes websites for people, most of which are horrible (in my opinion), but his own portfolio site is marvelous. I want something like that. He's great at coding, and this is a very professional layout. You can see it here. He deserves a round of applause for that layout.

Current Mood: Bored
Current Song: Bad Religion - You

I decided to stop being a lazy ass today and post. New layout too because the last one sucked. I tried to do pink again, but it looked horrible this time, so I just went with a plain scheme.

Anyway, I've been doing standardized testing for the past three days at school. Boring as hell. I always finish in about 1 hour, then have to sit there for 2 hours in complete silence.

Luckily, I go to a kickass school and the teachers let us go down to the gym afterwards. I played some basketball and football, had a kickass time, lol. Not much to report though, just mundane, day-to-day stuff.

The guy I was fighting with (Nay-Nay) backed off, though. He's too much of a pansy to do anything, lol, and I told him that.

My school is having an Art show soon, but I really don't know what to bring. I had an awesome memorial piece that I did in chalk pastel that was my favorite this entire year, but my teacher threw it out because I left it in his room for a few weeks, lol.

I suppose I'll use my CD cover though. It's done in oil pastel, which was fun to work with, and it's another landscape piece. I don't know why I do alot of landscapes, I guess they're easy for me.

Oh yeah, I put a new song up on my little box over there.

Dead Kennedys - Nazi Punks Fuck Off

Most people will probably need a lyrics site to go with it, because it's really fast, but it's an awesome song.

E D I T: Nevermind, it's in mp3 format. Silly me.

Neoteric America

Current Mood: Poetry-ish
Current Song: The Offspring - Million Miles Away

Tired of this mindless daily bump and grind
Living through this methodical routine
Corrosion swimming in each human mind
But there's a vestige of rebellion in this habitual scheme
Our bodies could be hurled into a revolution
The country is on the verge of a forced evolution

Creating a new America
Running from our past
Sitting, ready to belly up
Into our last days
Our nights on the bay
And I'm ready to risk it all
For the chance at ridding you all
Of this horrid routine

Rebuilding the new America after our futile front attack
Changing the thing we're weary of, since we have turned our back
On the society of old, the tiring routine
The systematic bliss we lived in, now has gone to waste
After the first rebellion, it was all lost in the race
The race toward utopia, with blindfolds on our face
The blinding race with aspiration
Has led us to a near extinction

Now we rebuild this wasted land
We hold our routed plans
In our ambitious hands
Living in the days of yore
We try to reinvent
This new life is such a bore
We have to implement
We work long days and nights
We've got to recreate
A fleeting paradise
But we won't close our eyes
We keep pushing on
And as I sing this song
The mother comforts her fawn

The only thing that matters now
Our offspring pay the price
We can only hope
That they can catch the light
And cast a bright wave of might
They must pay for our fight
But they do not have the right
To tear away the night
And at the sight of a tight aurora
They build a new euphoria
A lone child starts an aria
Showing what we're not weary of
But now we keep our eyes peeled
As we replant the fields and forests
No longer will there be unrest

No more unrest
In our new America

I've got this thing that I consider my only art of fuckin' people over

Current Mood: Hungry Again
Current Song: Modest Mouse - 3rd Planet

So I was bored and made another layout. The secondary background is tooooo plain though. I'm going to suggest that we can add images to that section to make it look more interesting in the myOtaku v2 wishlist thread.

Ok, I'll spill my drama, if there is any. I'll try to find some.

There isn't any. Well, there's one thing, but it's more action than drama.

There's this guy at our school named Nathan (read: Nay-Nay) and we joke around with him alot, and he jokes back. Every now and then I'll throw something soft at him and yell "I'm Rick James Bietch," as seen on Dave Chappelle's Show. Hilarity ensues as he chases me around jokingly, either grabbing me or throwing stuff at me.

So, in my brain, as well as others, repetition can be funny when done right. It had been a few months since I threw something at him and he left a cookie on the floor during lunch (no cafeteria), and Taso was supposed to tell Nay-Nay to throw it away. The teacher stepped out for a minute, so Taso told me to throw the cookie at Nay-Nay and yell "I'm Rick James Bietch." I though, "Genius, true genius."

So, I walked into Nay-Nay's class (right next to ours) and threw the cookie at him. Apparently it was a hard cookie and I threw it hard enough to crack on his face. Keep in mind that Nay-Nay's about 100 pounds heavier and half a foot taller than me. He tries to pin me up on the wall and I push him away (apparently he's not that strong), and we get into an argument. He's acting all crazy like and stuff.

So, to add humor to the situation, I blurt out "Nay-Nay, if you threw a cookie at me, I would not be reacting like this," and my entire class laughed, as expected. The teacher came back and told Nay-Nay to leave.

Next Day

I walk into 2nd period Spanish and I see him, waiting for me. The teacher is sick and gone with no substitute. I immediately say "Hi Nay-Nay," and proceed to fall into his headlock. I couldn't get out, so he was a little stronger than I thought.

I'm struggling to get out and nearly break free, so he throws a punch at my face. Luckily, my arm was wrapped around his body and I was able to stop it before it hit me. This shows that he's really weak for his size. I break free and push him away, then we start arguing again. I say my joke once more (repetition is humorous) and Nay-Nay gets pissed off and leaves.

I'm glad we didn't get caught fighting because it's like a $600 fine and I'm poor, lol. I hope he tries something again though, because I want to embarass him for reacting so badly. He thinks he can take me because I'm smaller, which is usually the case, but not here. I can't wait for Monday.

I told you I'd find some drama.

Back in Full Swing

Current Mood: Comfortable
Current Song: Creed - With Arms Wide Open

Ok, I'm finally getting back into myOtaku again. After my image host went down, I just didn't feel like updating anymore. Now I'm gonna stop going outside and become a slob again :p

I'll be making a few rounds to check out some people's sites today.

I'm really, really getting into design and art now. It's a true passion for me at this point. We're about to do CD covers in Art1 at my school and I'm going to do one on Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. While being their obviously most famous song and I might be criticised for using it, it has some deep religious symbolism.

I'm getting more and more into religion every day. It's really interesting for me because I've never truly studied it. My family never really gave me a large opportunity to become religious.

The song is mainly about Jesus, and how you can redeem yourself and ascend into Heaven after a life of sin if you recognize Jesus as your savior and lord. I'm sounding sort of like a baptist on T.V. ^_^;

Here's a link that analyzes the song:

Click here if you're not a hermaphrodite.

Hope you enjoy. I'm a sucker for symbolism. I just wish I could recognize it all of the time.

Fixed post BG

Current Mood: Work-y
Current Song: Bad Religion - You

Fixed the post BG, working on the main BG now. Gotta remake it because I deleted it -_-

E D I T: Well, as you can see, I made a new background, but it sucks big fat monkey balls, so I'm starting over.

E D I T 2: I made a new one, a little bright, but it'll do because I'm tired of angelfire's slow load times. Wish my host didn't die -_-

E D I T 3: God that background I made is bright and ugly. I don't care though, I've been in photoshop enough for one day.

So, I had a high school prom. Whoop. Didn't have anyone to go with, but I had fun. We were in downtown Fort Worth, right across from the Water Gardens.

Halfway through the dance, like 1/4 of the kids went to the gardens to walk around. A guy came out of nowhere and introduced himself to them. He was homeless and lived out there, but then one of the kids said something (I'm not sure what) and he told he to watch what she said or she might end of dead. The kids proceeded to leave, but he followed them around for a bit. They got freaked out and ran off.

Later, my friend and I came out because we were tired of dancing (it was like a 5 hour thing), and we ran around the gardens trying to find those kids because we knew they were out there. We found them and they were all freaked out and told us the story. Most of them went back because they were scared, but half of the guys (including myself of course) decided to let our sense of adventure take over and we went out looking for the guy who threatened the girl. We never found him, but we did find another homeless guy sleeping and we didn't bother him. I felt really sad for the guy.

At the gardens, there's this scalable wall (you're not supposed to climb it, but we did). Scotty was coming down from it and was about two ledges up and he fell. I wasn't close enough to catch him, but I was close enough to feel bad for not catching him. He was alright though. It was a fun night.

Anyway, earlier, I decided that I'm going to make a portfolio site. I looked at a few tutorials on metal templates and I made a cool little layout. I coded part of it, but the rest I don't know how to do, so my friend is going to finish it for me. I'm going to have my graphics on there as well as some comics I'm making. They're pretty funny. Anyway, here's the link if you want to see it:

Mundane-ness

Current Mood: Bored
Current Song: Foo Fighters - Learn to Fly

Well, things are confusing with the "people situation." Taso seems to only be pissed at me when I'm with Erin. At other times he just seems to joke around with me. I really can't tell what he thinks, lol.

Anyway, Erin and I are still going out, and we're going to the High School Prom together. My school is really small, so they have to let everyone in the high school go to the prom instead of just Juniors and Seniors. She's out shopping for her dress right now (hopefully). It seems like she's lying (or lieing, not sure) to me sometimes, but I really can't tell. I need to take Psychology class ^_^;

Not concerning drama though, we're reading Antigone in English class. It's a pretty interesting story so far. What we do sometimes in our English classes when we're reading large stories, is we choose a character and read the parts. I always choose a difficult one because I want to practice. I wouldn't mind being in drama next year. It'd be an interesting experience.

In Art we're doing brush and ink. It's pretty fun so far. It's kind of hard because I don't have a steady hand, but it's definately a fun thing to do.

Speaking of Art, we're going to matte our best works of the year and put them on display for the school at the end of the year. I'm going to use my memorial piece, dedicated to my dog Sarah. I did it in chalk pastel and it looks pretty cool.

That's about all, I'll write more later when my dad isn't staring over my shoulder, lol.

SHIT LUCK!

Current Mood: Aching
Current Song: Modest Mouse - Shit Luck

Don't let the title confuse you, that's the name of a song by Modest Mouse. It's really awesome. I have the lyrics in my introduction now. That's the entire song too. They'll say the first line, play for about 45 seconds, second line, play, and so on. That's the right amount of "And My"s too :D I love that song. It's great. Download it. Now. Got it? Good. Do it.

Anyway, I haven't worked out for so long, and I decided to start again today. Bad idea. I'll work my way in more gradually next time ^_^; I'll be un-achey in a few days. Tomorrow's school. We'll see what happens with my little people situation. If you don't understand what I mean, you should visit my journal more often and shame on you! Lol j/k :p
