Sidequests, sidequests, and more sidequests
Sidequest is really just a flashy word for busy work. They're also the bits of the story that aren't "required" but if you want to get anything done you gotta do 'em. In this case... I think I'll list what they were in rpg victory fashion (cue victory music of your choice)
Double Semester Book Return: O
Brian gaines: +1 Srength, +2 Patience, $126
Prep for Parental Return: O
Brian gaines: +3 Stamina, Parent's Respect+
Hunt for a Job: X (on going)
Brian gaines (it says gain even if it's negative): Parent's Respect (Mother)-
Now a little explaination. The book return consisted of me carrying 2 semester's worth of books about half a mile over to the student Union, then standing in line with said books for just under an hour. Hense the gain in strength and patience. Good news is that I made $126. Which... isn't that much, considering.
Prepping for Parental Return? Yeah, my parents were away for a wedding over the weekend. I thought it would be a good idea for them to come home to a clean house and a freshly mowed lawn. Yeah >.> I finished inside with plenty of time. But, I only had about 20 min. to do an acre's worth of mowing with a lawnmower that breaks down every so often. I was running around franticly for a good 3 hours, thus the stamina, and you can't gain stamina without strength (it just works that way).
Hunt for a job: I'm jobless as of right now. I blame Gamestop for this one (at least most of it). I put in an application almost a month ago and they haven't even looked at it yet!!!! So I have to look for other options. Problem is, I'm kinda picky, no fastfood, never again busch, and something with technology. I have a job set up, but they aren't hiring until June. It's a sure thing that I'd get the job, but my mom got all pissy that I wouldn't have a job for a month. So now I've got to mope around and see if ANYTHING is hiring.
That's not really what has me angered though. It's my room mate. This lazy irrisponsible dumb @$$ hasn't had to work for anything in his life. He calls his mother stupid right to her face and what does she do? ... Buys him a damn phone!!! He's failing and she feels that he deserves a Zune. On top of that, he was handed a job for the summer to. Which, I may need to go and sabotage before he recks something. He's going to be "responsible" for mowing the sports fields all over the city's schools. For this (sitting on his butt) he gets paid over $9 an hour, 50 hour work week, the last 10 hours of that being time and a half, making $495 a week... if he shows up for work. I mean, that is completely unfair. I vow to get a better job than that, and I won't just keep it for the summer. I will show him up! I'll prove that hard work can pay off better than luck.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a job to find... and for some reason this guy wants me to collect 17 rabbit tails for some spell... stupid wizards. (no bunnies were harmed for the sake of that joke)
