There's never a sledgehammer around when you need one!!

Thursday.... hmm... "Thursday" is sort of a variation on "Thor's day".... Thor had a hammer...

Sorry I didn't get to sites again. I've been fighting with the firewall software again... or yet... take your pick. Just installed it last night, and have already had to uninstall & reinstall it. Now the anti-virus software is having issues.

I really gotta stop this late night computer maintenance.

*Looks around for something else to do that may not involve the computer* Oh look... writing stuff! That's a possibility...

Has it been that long already?

Even though the thing above says it's Thursday the 12th, it's still Wednesday the 11th for me!

My...how time flies when you don't know what you're doing! Yep, a year has flown by. It's hard to believe that I was just nosing around one night looking for an episode guide for Trigun when I found this wonderful site! Here's my very first post:
Hello!
I found this site while searching for an episode guide for Trigun. I'm looking forward to having some fun here and eventually getting some of my own stuff posted.

I've sure come a long way since that lame little post! My first theme was fox-related to go with my name.

And so, in thanks to all of you that have put up with my semi-psychotic ramblings over the past year, I give you this:

And now the update on what I actually did today: As little as possible! I did do some studying, but not much.

Late in the afternoon, my brother & I went to Sioux City to get groceries. We also ended up at Staples to get new firewall software for this beast.

I installed that and updated it right away, only to have the computer freeze up on me shortly afterward. After that, the firewall decided to work very well. I could connect and that was it! So, I uninstalled the thing and continued with my usual rambling around the internet. Ended up taking an hour longer than expected to go through email because of the freeze/uninstall episode. Aren't computers fun?

Oh! Kenshin has finally made his feelings known about the ongoing conversation:

Oooh...that doesn't sound good.

And Ishi, if you want to get caught up on my story, just click on the picture of Sam & Hikaru up in the intro area. That will take you to the whole thing! Well, the whole thing as what's been typed up and posted here.

I swear that one of these nights I will get to sites! This has been one weird week!!!

There is no dark side of the moon, really. As a matter of fact, it's all dark....

Tuesday... Dienstag...

Well, I didn't get anywhere on studying today. Are you surprised? I was all ready to come up to study when the phone rang at 11:30 this morning. The guy that we've been expecting to do some repairs around the house finally was able to come over today! So, I spent the afternoon hanging out in the living room so I could answer any questions he may have come up with. So... maybe tomorrow I'll get going on that E-commerce book! Woohoo!

Well, Sano has decided to speak his mind at last!

And now... as threatened yesterday... the next bit of story.

"The laughter of children, the sakura blossoms in spring, the pride one feels in the accomplishments of their sons. These are the pleasures I have known, Yonaha-san," Nakamura said as he looked out his office window. "I have never known the joy of grandchildren. Are you sure there's a grandson?"

"Not entirely, Nakamura-san," Yonaha said. "All that we have determined is that your youngest son Yoshihiro died in battle in the Satsuma Rebellion. This we have verified."

"Why have you not contacted my grandson?" Nakamura turned away from the window and returned to his desk. The news of Yoshihiro's death came as a surprise, but the news of a grandson was even more surprising. He had never thought there would be any children in that union. He remembered the woman Shizuyo that had come between him and his youngest son. She was not what he or his wife would have chosen for their son. Shizuyo is what had driven them apart and Yoshihiro from the estate.

"A servant turned Ashida away. He was rude and claimed Hikaru was ill and could see no one."

"Hikaru... a fine name," Nakamura mused. "What was the servant like? Aside from rude?"

Yonaha thought for a moment. "Ashida-san said he was an ordinary man. Perhaps in his thirties or forties for age. Still dressing in the traditional fashion. And an air of authority about him."

Nakamura smiled. "That sounds like Takeda. He was a close friend to Yoshihiro. They were inseparable. Almost like brothers."

"What should we do next, Nakamura-san?"

"Go back to Kamakura. Be discrete, but check into the health of my grandson. Ask the local doctor. If he is very ill, send a message right away... no, wait. I will send a doctor with you. My own personal physician will go."

"Of course, sir. When do you wish us to go?"

"I need to get some things in order first. Send a cable to Ashida-san. Have him look into the state of the dojo, but remind him to be discrete about it. I know how he can be. Send for Takeru, I have some things to discuss with him." A wave of his hand indicated that Nakamura was through speaking to Yonaha.

Yonaha bowed, "Yes, Nakamura-san. I will do that right away."

Nakamura returned to the window and looked out over the streets of Tokyo. A grandson, he thought. I have a grandson. What is he like? How much of his mother is in him? He was deep in thought when Takeru entered the office.

Takeru cleared his throat to get Nakamura's attention.

Nakamura did not turn from the window. "The last time I saw my son Yoshihiro was the day he left with his wife," he said, speaking aloud, but mainly to himself. His tone was not entirely sad, but there was a touch of melancholy to it. "Now word has been brought to me that he has died in battle. Both of my sons are dead, and I have only a rumor of a grandson as heir."

Takeru was not sure how to answer his superior. "A grandson, Nakamura-san?" he asked. "That is good news."

Nakamura sighed and turned back to his desk. "Yes, it is, Takeru-san, however it has been brought to my attention that he is ill. I have Ashida and Yonaha looking into things."

"Is that wise? Ashida-san is faithful, but his methods can be questionable."

"True, but they are thorough. If anyone can find out anything, it will be those two," Nakamura said with a small smile. "Now, we need to finish this." He waved his hand at the paperwork on the desk.

"Of course, sir," Takeru answered.

The two men went about business as usual, but Nakamura found it hard to concentrate fully on the business at hand. His thoughts kept returning to his grandson. He couldn't help but wonder how much of the demon would be in the boy, and it worried him more than he realized.

Hmm... Old Nakamura knows what Hikaru is!

Well, I think I may call it a night. Not entirely true... I may just go offline and turn off this idiot box. We're under a tornado watch. Haven't even had any thunder yet! Don't want to run the risk of being in the middle of something if the power cuts out.

   Mr. Cheese Nacho, Stay Away!!

Monday, Monday... Can't trust that day...

Just spent about three and a half hours redoing my fiction pages. Somewhere along the line, I got it messed up, and decided to redo the whole thing to repair it. What I did to it will be nice in the future when it comes to adding more chapters. I really need to make sure all the links work on what I did tonight... but I reserve the right to do that tomorrow!

I think Kenshin & Sano are plotting what to say to Hiko-sama and Saito about the whole "idiot" thing and the defective book.

Now I go to bed. There will probably be another part of the story up tomorrow.

   Remember, I was vapor....

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Well, it was another exciting day in the life of a Kitsune. My brother mowed the lawn this morning before services started at the churches we live between, so I woke to the sound of the mower. But I stayed in bed until I heard the church bell ring at nine.

Later in the morning we went to Sioux City again. Wheeee! Didn't do anything terribly exciting there. We did go to Target and wander around for a while. *sigh* Now I wish I had $40 plus tax to spend there. Two Fullmetal Alchemist DVDs available.... *sigh*

Well, this thing with the defective book is getting out of hand. I wonder if Sano & Kenshin are going to defend themselves any time soon...

Well, I think I may actually go to bed. I'm just not in the mood to hang out online tonight. I didn't get up here until after 10 pm and it's only 11:30ish now. I may go to my room and write for a while.

Time is an illusion.... Lunchtime doubly so.

"You know, it's at times like these, when I'm trapped in an airlock with a man from Betelgeuse that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me."

"Why? What did she tell you?"

"I don't know! I wasn't listening!"

Saturday....

Went to Sioux City and exchanged the book with no problem! They had a copy there and I made sure it was all right before making the exchange. Saito has something to say about Kenshin's rant yesterday:

It was Free Comic Book Day. We were going to go to the local comic book shop to check it out, but when we saw the line stretching around the building we gave up. Unfortunately, we think they were all there for the "free" and not the "comic book" part. *sigh*

Well, today was a pretty nice day out. I actually pulled out a pair of shorts! It was really windy though. I don't like it when it's that windy! Got dust in the eyes and hit in the shins with small pebbles while out for the evening walk!

Sorry I didn't get to all sites today... got online a bit late and, well....

I would like... to feed your fingertips... to the wolverines.

Friday ends...

Well, of course you're all dying to know how my test went, aren't you? Well.... I PASSED!!!! Yes, I got 86% and needed only 63% to pass. I am now a CIW Associate! And only three more tests to go.....

So, that shows I did actually do something today. I had to go to Omaha to take the test. My oldest sister went along and we had lunch with our other sister. I never told the one that lives in Council Bluffs that the other one was coming with me. It was great.

I dropped my sister off at Westroads while I took the test. After the test, I met up with her there and we wandered around. I had a $5 coupon for Waldenbooks and picked up Ruruoni Kenshin #13. Well... I'll let Kenshin himself express things:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yes, the book is defective! I got to page 96 and it started over! Right in the middle of the fight between Sano & Anji! Now I gotta see if I can get it exchanged at B&N in Sioux City. I'm gonna say it was a gift and I don't have a receipt.

One other thing I saw at the bookstore in Omaha was a plushie of Sesshomaru. I showed it to my sister and said, "It's Fluffy and he's missing his arm!" just as two teenage girls walked up to the manga section. They looked at me like I was nuts. So, if either of those girls was someone from the Omaha area that is on MyOtaku, you got to see KitsuneTsuki at her best!

Well... I think I may have to call it a night here. I've had to put up with this stupid computer freezing four times tonight, and I'm a little fed up with it. Aside from it having Windows ME on it, I can't figure out what the problem is....

   I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay!

Thursday comes to a close...

Did a lot of nothing again. Watched a slightly dull Humphrey Bogart movie. Man... I was disappointed. I love Bogart movies.

I finished my picture finally. It's up in the fanart. I ended up coloring it in, 'cause it was begging for it. It's Sam & Hikaru again. I haven't got to that part of the story yet. Well, not on paper, anyway. If you look closely at the words below, you'll see it's actually a haiku!

Speaking of haiku. I wrote three last night. I was actually doing some writing while babysitting this beast as the anti-virus software was scanning. The topic was "You see a shooting star." And here's the results:

A brief flash of light
Streaks across the midnight sky.
A spark fades away.

Stars fell from the sky
Leaving just the memory
Of where they had been.

I watch the stars fall,
Burning their trails in my eyes.
Magical beauty.

Well, tomorrow is the big day. The CIW Foundations test will be attempted for the first time. I'll let you all know how it went.

I've got a problem today... my brain cell is on hyperdrive!

Wednesday night and I am at the mercy of an over-active brain cell. Have been all day.

Didn't do much. Watched a videotape: The Manchurian Candidate with Denzel Washington and Liev Schreiber. Very good movie for a remake. I didn't get quite as vocal at the mother character (played by Meryl Streep) in this version as I did at the one in the original (played by Angela Lansbury). I was actually screaming bad words at Angela Lansbury when I watched the original.

I also read Kenshin a while today. And that's when my brain cell kicked into hyperdrive. I was reading the part with Isurugi Raijuta and started to think. That is not a good sign. I came up with The Big Question, and I put it to you....

I was going to work on my picture today, but ended up sitting around watching TV all day. I'd work on it now, but it's downstairs on the dining room table taped to a lightbox.

Well, I did pass 2400 hits. Thank you all for stopping by. I really appreciate it. In celebration, I give you a banner made by joeyw23. Thank you, Ishi!! I love it!!

Well, that about covers my day. I leave you with.... a gorilla playing accordion!

   Poke out my eyes....

Tuesday finishes with a whimper.

Well, not much going on here as usual. It was very noisy outside this morning. For the past week or so Mid-American Energy has been doing "Utility Work" at the mouth of the alley that goes by the house. They were cutting concrete this morning. I told the one guy that I'm glad my brother is on vacation and not home to try to sleep through all that noise. (My brother works nights, so he sleeps all day) I wonder when they'll be done with it.

I'm sorry that I disturbed you guys with that picture yesterday. I was surprised that it came out so huge! The actual picture in the CD liner notes is only about an inch across. Must be the way the scanner is set... oh well.

I'm going to leave you with a survey that I found on joninfox's site.
