Friday sees the possible return of

Kitsune's Movie Quotes!

My brother & I went to see Kung Fu Hustle today. It is great. I am definitely adding it to my list of movies that I want on DVD. Like the movie poster says, it's "Jackie Chan and Buster Keaton meet Quentin Tarantino and Bugs Bunny." It's a live-action cartoon at times. Very funny and action-packed!

Otherwise... today was cold!!! I don't think the temperature broke 50 at all. I did get a couple chapters studying done... JavaScript is fun! DHTML is interesting. I would like to have more than just a chapter on each of them, however.

I don't know what else to say now, so I leave you with a quiz result:

HASH(0x8c6296c)
You got Sesshomaru! LUCKY LUCKY YOU! He may seem
cold and uncaring on the outside but you can
see right through him! He may not be one to
comfort you or anything like that but he'll
always protect you and keep you safe. Plus, who

I think my mind has gone......

Thursday night is winding to a close and I'm incredibly mellow. I may be getting in touch with my inner relaxed person tonight.

I feel so bad. I didn't get a bit of studying done at all today. I had to do laundry. Our laundry room is on the first floor of our house and the computer is upstairs. I have to be on the same floor as the laundry room for two reasons:

  1. If I'm not there, I tend to forget about it and the laundry doesn't get done.

  2. The washing machine is not the greatest and it goes out of balance in almost every spin cycle.

I had five loads of laundry to do, so it took up a good chunk of my day. I sat and read my Kenshin manga all day!!! I could have done something constructive while waiting for laundry, but I didn't! I feel so bad now. I don't know how I'm ever going to be ready for those certification tests!

I was trying hard to get to everyone's sites tonight, but my computer froze up again. I'm really getting tired of that happening. I need to run a spyware check & virus scan again. I may do that in the morning, 'cause now I may just wander off to the soft thing across the hall and play Gameboy until my eyes fall out.

Additional: I am such a space cadet! I forgot to mention this: I broke 2300 hits! Virtual cookies and milk for everyone!

   Pogue Mahone!

Wednesday evening and I'm getting in touch with my inner angry Celt!

Ah... three hours of post-punk Irish music is such fun.

Well, I'm still a bit bummed out by the hockey card water fiasco. I also under-estimated the number of cards last night. It's closer to 3500 cards that were in that box! I just have to print out my list of what was in that box, get the cards and try to see if any are worth saving.

Today was pretty mellow. I woke to the sound of rain on the kitchen roof. I love the sound of rain on the roof. No... I wasn't sleeping in the kitchen. My bedroom is on the 2nd floor and our kitchen is a porch that was closed in, so it has a flat roof only one storey high. It extends out below my one window, so I hear the rain on it. Very peaceful sound. I fell asleep last night with that sound & woke up to it. So cool.

I got through the last of the chapters in my book about software that I don't have! Yay! I get to play on the computer with the next stuff. Wheee!!!

I also discovered today that I may have to drive to Omaha to take my certification tests. My oldest sister wants to go down there with me when I take one of them. I'd gladly drive down, but she'd have to find something to do while I was taking the test. Maybe I could drop her off at Westroads. It's a mall that's not too far from where I have to go for the test. Hmm... I'll burn that bridge when I get there.

I did get some more of my story done today, but I'm not ready to post any of it yet. Just not in the mood for all that typing, so I leave you with a couple of these things:

   ....

Tuesday night....

Not a lot happened today, either. This morning I went and applied for an Internet Sales position at a car dealership in another town. I'm not holding my breath. This afternoon I did some more of the practice test for my first certificate. I am really convinced that Networking is out to get me.... This evening I watched an old movie with my brother. Such excitement.

Well...since I moved up here, I've been storing some of my stuff in the basement at my sister's house. We had a heavy rainstorm yesterday and my brother-in-law called to let me know that some of my hockey cards got wet. "Some" happens to be approximately 3000 cards. I could have cried when I heard the news. I was hoping to sell them. I need to go through what's there and see if any can be salvaged. There was a box of cards that I was saving for myself. Except for the ones that are in little plastic sleeves, most of them are beyond hope of saving. I have been collecting cards for around 15 years, so there's a lot of cards there. It just makes me so sad.

Oh... I forgot to tell you what that set of lyrics was yesterday. It's the lyrics from The Flesh Failures (Let the Sunshine In) from Hair. As you can see, it's not really a happy song. So whenever you hear the 5th Dimension's version of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In, it's totally out of context. What is going on with that final song is basically a symbolic representation of the death of one of the characters in VietNam. Hair was produced during the VietNam conflict, so it has something of an anti-war message.

Sorry to bore you people with this, but I'm of an age where I can remember a little bit of that time. And some of the things brought out in the musical apply to life today.

Hmm... I seem to have waxed philosophical at you there. I apologize if it confused or bored you.

I leave you with this: I was 3 hits away from 2300 when I got here tonight... and I broke into the top 200 in the ranks. Okay, I actually broke that barrier late last week. I just wanted to make sure I stayed under 200. Thanks to all of you that have come here to read my latest psychotic babblings.

Om mane padme om.... Om mane padme om....

Monday night... getting in touch with my inner hippie...

We starve-look at one another short of breath
walking proudly in our winter coats
wearing smells from laboratories

facing a dying nation of moving paper fantasy
listening for the new told lies
with supreme visions of lonely tunes

singing our space songs on a spider web sitar
life is around you and in you
answer from timothy leary deary

let the sunshine in
let the sunshine in
the sunshine in

let the sunshine in . . .

let the sunshine in . . .

Yeah...I've been listening to music that my oldest sister can't figure out why I listen to it. It's the music of her demographic: those that graduated high school in the late 1960s! Tonight's listening treats have been: Shine On Brightly by Procul Harum, the original Broadway cast recording of the musical Hair, and Disraeli Gears by Cream. Yeah, I know... this is all stuff you've never heard of!

Well... my day consisted of watching four episodes of Angel before, during and after lunch. Then I left the tube on and half-listened to a couple episodes of Law & Order while trying to study. I actually got through 5 chapters! Yay me!

Other than that... nothing exciting happened. The church next door is going to have roof work done.

   Whatever....

Sunday night.

It was another beautful day outside. I didn't study. I went to LeMars with my brother. We had lunch at Dairy Queen and then stopped at Wal-Mart. We also needed ice cream... So, it was off to the ice cream parlor at the Ice Cream Capitol of the World Visitors Center for huge ice cream cones again. Got another stretched penny! We've got only one design left to go.

Later in the afternoon after we got home, we went out for a walk 'cause of how nice out it was. As we were walking along one street my brother shook his arms and turned around and looked at the sky behind us. It was sunny and he was feeling raindrops... there was a big grey cloud behind us that was raining slightly and we both could feel it. But we were both thinking it wasn't raining. We both ended up laughing about it. We thought we were hallucinating until we verified that the other felt it too!

Otherwise, it wasn't much of an exciting day.

   Voobanahana Vop Bop!

S-a-t-u-r-d-a-y Night!

So...how's things for y'all? I'm fine... a bit wacky, but what else is to be expected? I think it may be from the minimal sleep last night. Playing on my GBA until almost 3:00 am can do that to a person.

Well, not much happened today. I won a some microwave popcorn at a March of Dimes fund-raiser thing at KMart. I'll probably have it sometime in the future. Just not tonight.... I don't think I could eat anything. I've had a bit of a stomach-ache all evening. Blah.

Today was the day my brother-in-law had the color put into his tattoo! It looks so cool. It's still a bit puffy in places 'cause he just had it done today. The characters alongside it are his wife (my sister) and daughter's names as I found them on a site with names. The original artwork is here.

Well... I will leave you with that. Have a great whatever!

Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell

Friday!!!!

The clouds came back overnight and sucked all the energy out of me this morning. I didn't want to get out of bed at all. Then once I was out of bed, I didn't want to do anything quickly. I think I got dressed somewhere between 10:30 and 11:00 this morning. I didn't even bother trying to study 'cause I knew I wouldn't get anywhere on it. So I finished the book I was reading and walked to the library and got two more.

My brother & I went to Sioux City late in the afternoon. He needed to take a couple things to where he works and some grocery shopping was needed to be done. The public library book sale started today!!! Talk about heaven. I bought three books. I shouldn't have bought any, but I couldn't resist. (Hey, I did good to resist Rurouni Kenshin #13 over at B&N!) I got a book on Japan - history and current stuff. I also found Java Programming for Dummies. I got it for only 50 cents! It even is relatively up to date with Java 2! w00t! The other book was the really cool one. It's a copy of Aesop's Fables.... in Greek! The preface is in Latin, and it was published in Germany. The printing date on it is 1901. And all I paid for it was $1.00! How cool is that?

And now I leave you with a scene cut from the upcoming Star Wars movie:

   Mrrrabble!

Thursday night. Big whoop.

How to tell you have a slow dialup connection:

  • You find yourself reading books while waiting for pages to load.

  • You find that a rousing game or eighty of Freecell is a great way to spend the time waiting for pages to load.

  • It takes 2 hours to do a simple thing... like load a page!

Sorry... just a little frustrated with the dialup tonight.

The day wasn't too bad. The sun was out again, but clouds are threatening to show up again. Noooo!!! I want more sun!

As threatened.. er, promised, here's pictures of tulips. Didn't take them long to open up.

I had a helper while taking those pictures... a cat! A stray cat has adopted us. My brother named him Holler, 'cause he hollers at us! Well, he's got a respiratory problem, so it's more of a squeak now. He's very affectionate and kind of pretty. He can't come in the house, though. Inside the house is the domain of the fatcat! Neko has priority in the house!

Well... I think I may go to bed relatively early tonight. It's just past 11:00 and I am vaguely bored.

   Umm....

Yes, it's Wednesday evening and I'm at a loss for words for my subject line! I guess that's what insanity is all about!

Well...I only got through two chapters today studying, but I did discover something interesting at the library this afternoon that helped out studying. The one computer down there has FrontPage2003 on it!!! I spent about 2 hours going through one of the chapters. Tomorrow I'll do the last chapter on FrontPage down there. Then I have to just look at the pictures in my book for the Macromedia stuff. *sigh* I could download a trial version of the program, but it's an 80 or 90 MB file and I'm on dialup!!! It would take about a week to download.

Well...I emailed my Kakashi picture to Shonen Jump a little while ago. I just hope I hear back from them aside from the automatic response that I got shortly after sending the message.

Speaking of pictures... I just submitted yet another Kenshin picture to fanart here. It's a bit different than the others. It's completely of my own design and the style is also mine. I also left it as pencil only... no inking this time. I don't usually like to leave stuff as pencil because of being left-handed and dragging my hand over things and smudging them up. But this one actually turned out okay despite the large shaded areas.

Well... for someone that was at a loss for words up there, I sure babbled a lot here.

Now... in which direction haven't I left a wake of destruction? Southeast! Look out, here I come!

Additional: I just edited that post with the daffodil pictures down there... I was getting annoyed by the huge size of the pictures! Will possibly have tulip pictures for you as soon as more of them open up.
