   Damn you, stupid site-builder thing!!!

Well...this is it for Monday.

As I said last night, I'm starting to rebuild Kohaku's Cosplay. The site-builder that I used for the pages originally put so much garbage into the pages that it's making me cross-eyed just trying to figure out what it was that it did to the HTML. I spent a couple hours scrutinizing hard copy of the code during the day and another couple hours straightening out the code on just the introduction page! Wheee!!! I'm starting to see HTML tags floating before my eyes!

Fatigue is setting in, but I think that's as much from the headcold that is still giving me grief as it is from the site. I think that may also be where my headache came from yesterday.

Well...I think I may have to give the code another whack here and then off to bed I go!

Additional: It's gonna be a while before Kohaku's Cosplay is back up... I just counted, and I've got like 8 pages to rebuild and 1 more to add to it. Arrgh....

   My brain hurts...

Spent Sunday afternoon studying Web Page Authoring Fundamentals! Whee!!!!

Have spent the past 2 hours trying to rebuild Kohaku's Cosplay site. I think an hour of that was spent looking for a picture. I'm also trying to get rid of the garbage in the code! No wonder I have a headache now....

That being said, I may just give up and go to bed.

   Okay... that was odd....

Saturday is officially over as of about 15 minutes ago.

My day was pretty uneventful. Mom had me vacuum the stairs. Whee. Then I went to the library downtown to see if the computers there have the latest Shockwave plugin. One didn't, but the other one did. So I'll be able to do the online tutorials down there, and they'll be a whole lot faster than here at home. The library has high speed connections!! After lunch I went to Sioux City to go to the library there. I actually found a 'recent' computer book on Java 2! Now I just have to crack the thing open and read it. Maybe I'll understand a lot more.

I discovered that the tests I'll be taking for my certifications all have over 200 questions on each of them. One of them has almost 300 questions. Eek.

I should go to bed!!! It's late and I have had an earache all day. It hurts way down into my throat, but my teeth don't hurt like they did that one day.

....he just phoned to wash his head at us....

Friday has gone by. It was a thrill-a-minute.... *falls over laughing wildly*

Well, I survived my Java class. Just don't ask me too many questions about the stuff right now. My brain is full! We got out of class at 11:30 this morning. That was nice, 'cause I then drove across Omaha to have lunch with my sister before driving back home.

Yeah. I'm back home and back on dialup. Arrgh. This connection is so slow. I gotta check the library computers. They've got a satellite connection or something like that. Not too shabby for a little town of around 1500 people.

I won this from Ishi-chan, a/k/a joeyw23, for getting all the questions right on her quiz. Cute picture!

Well, with dialup I only got through about half the posts tonight. I'd have gone for more, but I'm incredibly tired tonight. I think I may wander off to bed and sleep for a long, long time.

If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!?!

Thursday night ramblings of a Pink Floyd purist...

Yes, my mind has become one long Pink Floyd song again.

Class was not too bad today. I'm slowly getting the hang of Java. I'm definitely going to have to go through the book again, just to make sure I get a better grip on things. Well, on Java anyways.

I got out of class at 2:30 this afternoon, so I went to Borders out on 132nd street in Omaha to look at computer books. I found a few titles I'd like to have, but need to have money first.

I also went and wandered around in the manga section. I was very good and didn't buy anything, although I was seriously tempted by Trigun Maximum #4 and Rurouni Kenshin #11. I did sit and read the Trigun one, however. Oh man.... I gotta get that!!! Same with Kenshin. *sigh*

One thing I didn't post for Wednesday was that I ran into a guy that I used to work for during a break in class! He's going to be hiring in the area where I now live, so I got his work email address and sent my resume off to him. Wish me luck! After all the crap I've been through, I hope something comes of it!

I've got about a half day of class left, if even that much. All that's left is two chapters in our book! Then I'm gonna have lunch with my sister and then go home!!

Saw this quiz on Katocool's site and just had to take it. I like the result. It fits me.

Well, it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

And Wednesday winds down.

Today was a little better than yesterday. I was feeling quite angry at the world yesterday. Today I was just incredibly tired. The weird thing is, I was getting the hang of things in my Java class today. I guess I can program better when tired. However, late in the afternoon, I had to stop looking at the stuff. It was the end of class and I couldn't think anymore. My instructor didn't mind that I left my last exercise unfinished. She didn't feel good either.

Well...I got to all updated sites again. Dang! This cable internet stuff rocks!!!

Saw this on someone's site tonight. Had to take it. Don't have a clue who it is I'm supposed to kill...

   Tuesday night venting.

Warning: sort of a rant ahead.

I am so mad right now that I'm starting to question why I bothered to entertain the notion that I could do such a thing like attempt to make something of my life. Java is driving me nuts. I can't get any studying done for any of my tests. Why did I even think I could do this web design certification thing? I love making sites, so I thought I'd be able to get somewhere in a career by doing this. Evidently, I'm not supposed to be a web designer. Some cosmic force somewhere has decided that I'm not supposed to be successful or happy in whatever it is I'm doing with my life. Well, that can't be entirely true...I'm succeeding at screwing up my life to the point where I think it will be something like another 40 years before I can feel like I've made something of myself. Why do I even bother? I thought I wanted a career. I guess I'm just going to have to settle for a job.

This computer that I'm using is acting up so commenting on sites tonight is not an option. Sorry.

   I may have a clue....

...but then again, I may not.

Yep, Monday marked the first day of my Java programming class. I haven't done any serious programming in something like 20 years. So, I am having fun getting my brain wrapped around the whole programming thought processes. I should go over the chapters we covered today.

I made my sister check a couple manga books out of the library for me. I probably could have checked them out myself 'cause I still have my card for the Council Bluffs Library, but I had left my purse at her house. So, I'm gonna read Fruits Basket #2 and Shaolin Sisters #3.

A lot of you asked about how I managed to get the two Kenshin books for only $5. Well, I had a coupon for $10 off a purchase of $10 or more, and I have a Preferred Reader card that got me 10% off as well. So...two books at $8.99 each ended up only $5.31 with tax.

I'm staying at my sister's house... the room where I'm sleeping is the library and she keeps her son's hamsters in there. The little buggers kept me awake for an hour early this morning running on their little wheel! I didn't get the light turned off until around 1:00 a.m. as it was 'cause I was reading my Kenshin books!!! So...I'm tired, and it's really all my own fault.

So, here it is, 11:00 p.m. and I'm getting my post done while listening to the TV. Tiny Toon Adventures is on some weird cable channel that's showing NickToons. It's called filler until InuYasha comes on. Then... bedtime!

And now for something completely different....

...a man with a tape recorder up his nose.

So, Sunday is coming to a close. It was a pretty nice day. I didn't do much at home, except for packing. Then I drove to my sister's house in Council Bluffs. I have class tomorrow! Wheeeee!!!!

The weather was screwy all weekend. It's early March and the temperatures were running in the 50s. Today was in the 70s!!!! The weather guys are saying it's supposed to snow tomorrow or Tuesday. Of course.. I have to drive across Omaha for class!

The first thing I did when I got here was head to Waldenbooks in the mall to see if they had Rurouni Kenshin #9 in stock. They did!!! I was naughty and got it and since I had a few bucks of my own, I also bought #10! So... the two together cost me only $5.31!

I've decided to rename my car. I'd been calling him 'Neo' since I got him. He's a Plymouth Neon and I'd watched The Matrix once too often right before I got him. He's a white with a black "bra" on the front end. I decided that 'Onigiri' would be a better name for him 'cause onigiri are white with that black seaweed stuff on it.

I got to see my brother-in-law's tattoo yesterday, but forgot to take the camera over with me. So... it's gonna be Saturday or Sunday next before I can get a picture of it up. Sorry!!!

I also got to everyone's sites tonight! My sister has cable internet!!! Fast connections this week! Yay!

   I wanna be sedated!!!!

Listened to the Ramones tribute CD tonight. Seemed appropriate.

Well...Saturday is going the way of the Dodo. My brother and I weren't going to do much. Just a trip up to LeMars for lunch and bread & hot dog buns. It turned into a four hour jaunt.

We ate at Dairy Queen and then went to Walmart and wandered there for a while. Ran into our sister there and picked on her & her daughter for a bit. Then over to the grocery store for bread and hot dog buns. Then my brother decided he wanted to see if he fit into a two-door Ford Focus. He does. Then he decided we were going to go to Cherokee... which is about 30 miles away from LeMars. We walked around Cherokee for a while and found a little museum there. It was fun. He got a new digital camera yesterday and was looking for a card reader so he can download pictures quickly. He didn't find quite what he was looking for. Oh, well...

Tomorrow I go down to the Omaha metropolitan area.... yay! I hope I can find that book I want! Kenshin will be mine!!!

Vash & Kenshin: *peeking around the door behind me*

Vash: *whispering* Better go hide, Kenshin. It sounds like Kitsune-san's out of her mind again. She says you'll be hers.

Kenshin: *whispering* You're right, Vash-sama. This one may have to hide again.

Me: HEY! I hear you guys back there! Where have you been the past couple weeks?

Vash: Umm.... Tibet.

Kenshin: *looks at Vash like he's got three heads* This one does not know you.

Sorry I didn't get to all sites tonight, but my mom kicked me off the big computer upstairs, so I'm on the laptop downstairs and it's pitching fits. Grrrr....
