I got me a Chrysler as big as a whale and it's about to set sail!!!
*dancing to that "tacky little dance band from Georgia"*
Yes! It's the B-52's!
Well, aside from tormenting the computer by using it as a stereo, my Saturday was mostly uneventful.
Got up around 9 am. Did nothing all morning. Right after lunch, went to Le Mars with my brother. He had to do some grocery shopping up there. What fun!!! He put my bed together this morning. That was nice of him. I just have to vacuum off the mattress and I'll be able to sleep in my own room finally!!! Yay!!! Mom said I should use the trunk that's in there as a bed table...I think it's too long to use that way. I still have to get a 6 foot long bookshelf in there. I won't be able to open any windows in my room.
After we got back from Le Mars, we went to Sioux City and hung out at the library for a while killing time before the movie we wanted to see started. I found 5 books on Japanese history, culture and language. Then we went across to the Orpheum to see a movie that was rather surprising to be playing in Sioux City! We saw A Very Long Engagement. It's one of those movies you have to read. Yep, in French with subtitles. Very good movie and totally different than what I expected it to be. It's sort of a detective story as a young woman is searching for her fiance that disappeared during the First World War. I cried a little at the end. It had a happy ending.
Well, I may not hit too many sites tonight. I'm rather tired. That's one of the signs that I need new glasses...I get tired after movies. At least I don't come out of them feeling like someone's stuck their thumbs in my eyes for a couple hours.

Fuh-rye-day!!!
Well...not anymore. It's just past midnight.
Anyhoo....I didn't do a thing to organize today. I tried to study a bit for my first CIW certification test. It didn't work very well. It was too nice outside, so I walked downtown instead. Went to the local public library. Man...it's pathetic. They've got 3 computer books: one on Macs, the Internet for Dummies, and a book on Windows 95. I almost cried. I did manage to find a book on counted cross stitch to check out. It's got lots of stuff in it that I want to do.
Notes on yesterday's pictures...
The poker game: Kohaku's playing partners are Cthulhu and the Rabbit with Big Pointy Teeth. Kohaku actually won that hand. He had a Royal Flush, whereas Cthulhu had a Full House and the Rabbit had a Straight.
The cat in the plants: That picture was taken about 16 years ago. The cat's name was Friday and she was a tiny kitten at the time. I was outside with her and a camera. She was playing in the vines along the foundation of our house and I called her name. The picture came out perfect.
The knotwork: Every Spring I give my Mom a dandelion. I've done it for years. She goes out to the East Coast in the Spring now, so I have to find other ways to get her the dandelion. I've sent her a weed-killer advertisement and set up a picture of one on a website. That's why there was supposed to be a dandelion flower at the top of that knot.
There are now over 100,000 members on MyOtaku. That is a lot of people!

It must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays....
Not much happened. Dad was cranky and sore from yesterday's fall. I got the east wall of my room covered with the stuff I want over there. Still no bed set up, so I'm still on the floor in the office.
Since nothing noteworthy happened today, I will give you pictures! Enjoy!
Many of you have probably been wondering what Kohaku has been up to since we moved. Well... I found him playing cards with a couple friends.
Look very closely at this picture. What is in this picture?
Besides anime/manga, I like to do Celtic knotwork. This was supposed to have a dandelion flower at the top, but it just wouldn't turn out right and I left it off.
And that's it for Thursday!

Another Wednesday down the drain....
Hi everyone! *waves* I hope you all had a good Wednesday. And Happy New Year!!!!
Yes, it's now the Year of the Rooster! Wheee!!! *lights a few firecrackers in celebration* I hope the Rooster is kind to this humble little Snake, 'cause the Monkey sure was flinging poo at me last year!
Well... Dad fell again today. He was feeding the outside cats when his knee gave out. Cut his hand & bumped his head. Nothing serious, but left him cranky for the rest of the evening. Now we think his knee is probably what went out on him the other morning. *sigh* One of these days, we'll know what to do with him!
I got a little more done on my closet this morning. I now have my laundry basket on the floor in there! Yay! Maybe in the next couple days, I'll have made room for my bed! I won't hold my breath though...

I'm soooo silly!
I almost forgot to post for Tuesday!
Well...Tuesday is about over. Not much happened today. I cleaned out some stuff from my closet. Now maybe I'll be able to put the laundry basket in there instead of leaving it on top of a small bookshelf. Eventually I hope to be able to sleep on my futon again! And watch my TV... etc... etc...
Dad's feeling somewhat better. The spinal stenosis is one of those things that can be relieved somewhat by surgery. It's a narrowing of the hole where the spinal chord goes through a vertebrae My Mom had it and had surgery to alleviate the pain a few years ago. It was such a relief for her. If Dad has to have the surgery, he's hoping to have it done soon.
Well.. off to bed again. I gotta figure out how to do my internet running around. It's hard to squeeze all I want to do into about 2 hours. Hmmm.... will think on this further.

A rare appearance prior to 11 p.m CST
Yes...I am posting early for Monday! That's because I'm probably not going to maintain consciousness too far after 11 pm. That's what happens when one has only about 1.5 hours of sleep the night before!
Here's what happened:
- I went to bed around 1 am.
- I woke up around 2:30 thinking I needed a drink of water.
- I was lying there debating whether or not to get up when I heard a noise downstairs.
- It took a few times, but I finally realized it was my Dad calling for my Mom.
- Went and woke Mom up so she could go down to see what was happening.
- Went downstairs myself to see what happened.
- Dad had fallen down... *sigh*
- Mom called the ambulance to take Dad to the hospital.
- Got dressed so I could drive Mom to Sioux City to the hospital.
- Scraped off my car only to find I couldn't get it out of the driveway. *growl*
- Mom gets their car out of garage & we drive to Sioux City.
- Takes an hour to drive 30 miles! Remember it snowed yesterday....
- Arrive at hospital around 4:30 and sit there waiting to see what's going on. Got lots of Gameboy playing done.
- Around 7:30 brother arrives to take me home again, but we stop at McDonald's for breakfast
- Get home around 8:30 and try to get ahold of a friend to have him take clothes into Sioux City for Dad, then remember friend went to Tuscon!
- Call brother-in-law to have him take me back to Sioux City with stuff for Dad. He buys me a pop to help keep me awake.
- Got stuff to Dad, find out what's wrong and that they won't be keeping him at hospital.
- Get back home around 11 am and fall asleep in recliner watching TV.
- Mom & Dad arrive home a little after noon and we have breakfast stuff for lunch... Mmmm...gotta love Aunt Jemima Breakfasts!
- After lunch go out to living room... Dad is in recliner, Mom is on her glider/rocker, I'm on couch.
- Tell Mom that I'm really not that tired at the moment, which is around 1:30, then promptly fall asleep for two hours.
So...that's why I'm tired. We now know why Dad's leg hurts so bad. He's got arthritis in the lower back and spinal stenosis. Mom had the spinal stenosis thing a few years ago and had surgery to take care of it. We don't know yet if Dad's gonna need the surgery, but if so, he wants it done as soon as possible.
So...it's now shortly after 10 pm. I'll see what sites I can hit before my brain shuts down. But I'm fading fast....

Sunday... sundae... I want ice cream.
Yes! It's the Sunday post! Aren't you excited now?
Well...yet another lazy day. Didn't do a darn thing at all! It snowed a few inches. A nice slap in the face by Old Man Winter after several days of 50 to 60 degree weather. My sister came over and Mom cut almost 24 inches of her hair off. Yes, you read that right. Locks of Love is getting another donation from her. Then she, Mom, my neice and I sat around the kitchen table and talked for a while. It was fun.
Watched only the first half of the Super Bowl. I was pulling for the Eagles, but the Patriots won in the end as I saw the score elsewhere on the 'net.
Dad's got an appointment tomorrow at the hospital in Sioux City for some tests. He's still not feeling the greatest and still has some pain. I hope they can figure out what's going on. I'll stay at home and work on arranging my room more than likely. I really need to start to study for my CIW Web Design certifications, too.
Meanwhile.... Thanks to Wolfwood1, Vash, Kenshin, InuYasha & Kagome have been released from the box. All are stretching to get the kinks out.
Vash: I'm hungry where are the donuts?
Kenshin: Never mind the donuts. Where are we?
InuYasha & Kagome: Yeah, where are we?
Ranma: Welcome to Kingsley!
Akane: Yep. We've been here for a while now. It seems Kitsune kept losing us and just found us again the other day.
Vash: Kitsune would lose her head if it weren't attached.
InuYasha: That isn't the way I heard it. I heard someone say that about you.
Vash: *pouts*
Everyone else: *laughs*
1Wolfwood showed up in a comment from Mamma Vash the other day and got everyone out of the box.
Yeah... my Ranma 1/2 books surfaced again. That's what's been giving me my manga fix. I did locate the other books in my sister's basement, but I'm not ready for them to be here yet. I gotta get my room organized!

*Insert witty subject line of your choice here*
This is the Saturday post...
Didn't do much in the way of organizing/unpacking again. What a waste of three days!!!! I got up almost at 10 this morning and ended up going to Sioux City with my brother. We went to the library and I found out my card is still good, even though I hadn't used it for 2 years. I've got one thing to say....I miss the Council Bluffs and Omaha Libraries already!!!! Then we stopped over at my sister's house and brought my bed over here. Didn't get it set up, so I'm still sleeping on the floor in the office.
I'm going to try to hit sites of everyone who updated on February 5th on my list!!! Wish me luck!

Additional: I got about halfway through the posts before my brain gave out. I think I did rather well to get that far.

What do you mean
The Thursday & Friday posts rolled into one!
Well.. Thursday can be summed up this way: Went shopping with my Mom and got nothing done on unpacking. The computer monitor decided to freak out on me and I got offline before I put my fist through it.
Friday was this: Didn't do very much unpacking again. Hung some stuff out on the washline because it was way nice and the stuff needed to be aired out. Went to my sister's house to find my Musketeers jersey (see my fanart self-portrait) and a few other things. Went to the Musketeers game against the Sioux Falls Stampede. My Muskies let me down tonight!!! *sigh* My first hockey game since October and they lose.
Well... the monitor decided to completely go wacko on me earlier, so I'm now on the laptop. My brother took the monitor for Olivia up to the beast upstairs. Good thing I have that monitor!
I apologize for not hitting sites the past week. Once I get settled in a little better, I hope to get around again. Thanks for being so understanding!!!
Now I'm going to go to bed. I'm tired!!!

Stupid factoid post for Wednesday.
My hits are at 1711.
My ranking is 243.
There are 20,106 active sites.*
There are 96,358 members.*
So...that means:
My ranking is within the top 2% of all active sites.
Active sites make up just under 21% of all members.
*At the time of writing this.
Okay... now that I've shown that I have too much time on my hands, I think I'll get to the real stuff for Wednesday.
I'm feeling better. Sinuses are still a bit stuffy, but the headache didn't attack like the past 2 days.
Dad's still having blood pressure issues and still has pain in his leg. His kneecap hurts. Odd. He'll have some tests next week. Thanks again for the well-wishes for him. It's so frustrating for him because he wants to go out East at the end of the month. My parents do volunteer work in a conference center in Maryland for four months every year.
My great organizing feat of the day was getting the entertainment unit over to where I want it in my bedroom. I had to move a bunch of stuff to get it there, so I don't really know if that was progress or not. I could get my TV into place on the thing as well as my stereo.... aaaaaaaarrrrggggh!!!!
Meanwhile, in a box somewhere...
Kagome: Are we ever gonna get out of here?
InuYasha: I don't know.
Vash: Why don't you use your sword and cut a way out? Same goes for you, Kenshin!
Kenshin: Well, this one's sakabato cannot cut very well.
InuYasha: You could shoot our way out, you spiky haired idiot!
Outside the box....
Ranma: Who's making all that noise?
Akane: I don't know, but it seems to be coming from that box over there....
