   Woohoo!!!

My stats when I logged in today:

Hits: 1500
Rank: 266

w00t! Party time! You guys is the best!

Well, thanks to the weather and a sort of nasty cold, I stayed inside again. I took my Christmas stuff down finally. After lunch I did very little studying. I could have done more, but my cold was making me dizzy.

Well... it's been a while, I bet you're wondering what Kohaku has been up to lately. Here you go!

He has done some cosplay. A fox demon this time. Which one? ^_~

Then there was the New Years Party with a couple friends!

Piccolo can chug like a pro!

But Goku can't hold his soda!

However, after the party, Kohaku caught a cold.

And he's spending time with his teddy bear and a soft blanket.

So, there you have it. Click the cold virus below to learn more about where he came from...

   I am an evil genius!

Well, maybe. The news of the day is that I FINALLY got Demon Spawn to install and run Internet Explorer. I was actually doing a victory dance in my apartment. Oddly enough, the song Megalomaniac was on the radio at the time.

The weather decided it was winter sometime during the night. Yeah, there's a thin coating of ice over the world. It's supposed to snow tomorrow on top of that ice. Wheee.

Well, with Demon Spawn working almost properly, I hope to be able to get some studying done here at home instead of having to go across a good chunk of both Council Bluffs and Omaha to go to the center.

Vash: *yawn* What time is it?

Me: *whispers* Tell him 'Monday.'

Kenshin: Monday.

Vash: What?! Kenshin, you!

Kenshin: *grins* Kitsune-dono told me to say it!

Me: Kenshin! *chases Kenshin with sakabato*

Vash: *grabs bowl of popcorn and plops down on couch to watch* I'm glad it's him for a change. I get tired of being chased all the time.

   Thirteen and a half hours!!!

Yes... I spent thirteen and a half hours watching cartoons yesterday. I started around 11:15 a.m. and ended about 12:45 this morning, which was about halfway through Cowboy Bebop. My brain was starting to shut down.... And I think that is a personal best for marathon caroon watching.

Today was pretty mellow. I spent a few hours in the library doing a little research for fun. It was so nice to just sit and look through books and write down stuff for future reference.

I think I'm going to start writing again. I have this really cool book called 'A Writer's Book of Days.' It's got hints for writing and a topic for each day. Since today is the 2nd, I think I can start it up again with no big problem. I had tried to do it last year, but things sort of went to Heck in a Handbasket there and I got away from it. I'm aslo going to start working on my Ancient Greek and Japanese again. And maybe draw more, too. It's all about self-discipline, people! If any of the writing strikes me as being interesting, I'll post it.

Vash has been snoozing all day & Kenshin has been incredibly quiet. I think he's up to something.

   First post of 2005!

Woohoo! I could have posted in the wee hours of the morning, but decided that sleep was more interesting. And sleep was a lot more fun! So much fun that I did it until around 11 this morning!

I spent the day watching cartoons. All day long! And I'm still at it! Woohoo!!!!!! By the time I'm done today I'll have watched around 13 hours of cartoons.

Vash: Kenshin...there's something wrong with Kitsune.

Kenshin: Now what?

Vash: She's been staring at something all day....*catches sight of the TV* Ooh....Dragonball GT....

Kenshin: *waves hand in front of Vash's face* Vash-san? Vash-san? Oh no, he's gone. Kitsune-dono?

Me: Pull up a piece of the floor, Ken-san! It's time for Dragonball GT! And your show is on after that!

Kenshin: *grabs cushion and plops on floor next to Vash* Well, maybe this one will watch for a while.

Vash: Anyone got any popcorn?

Me: If you want some, go make it yourself.

   As threatened, it's the....(slightly long)....

END OF THE YEAR RANT!!

My brother once gave me some advice. He said, "If Life hands you a shit sandwich, it doesn't mean you have to take a bite." Gee, bro, that's great. But what if Life turns around, grabs you and stuffs that shit sandwich down your throat?

Well...2004 is coming to a close. And all I have to say is, "Good riddance!" Man this year sucked. It started out relatively all right. I had a job that I hated, then I tried to get onto a different project there and fell victim to one project being yanked halfway through the first day of training. Then I was switched to another project... which consisted of the most piss poor excuse of a training session on the planet. I lasted on that project a rather short time. Then I switched to yet another project there. It had adequate training. Shocking! However.... the prospect of being chained to a telephone for 8 hours a day left me physically ill. So... I ended up quitting before they fired me. That was the end of May. I should've let them fire me. At least that way, I'd be eligible for unemployment benefits.

Speaking of benefits and the like.... I have lost my faith in charitable organizations. Every time I called the Salvation Army, I was told that they were out of money. Same thing with a few of the others that I called. Then my sister told me that the Salvation Army is putting priority on people who have family members in the military overseas. That's nice. Also if they're out of money, what were the numbers I saw on those big signs showing how much of their goal they reached? Oh, well. I guess it isn't money.

Okay... so I wasn't able to find a job. In the middle of July, I decided to go back to school. Yay me. I'm going for certification in web design. I've got like one class left to take... and about 8 to 10 tests to take as well! I'm just a little stressed out by that right now. I swear that MS Office is out to get me... especially Access. That one really has it in for me!

I also have become unemployable. I don't know how, but it happened! Yep, with over 5 years of experience in retail, I was not able to get a job in the mall at Christmas time! Yay me! What were these people afraid of? The fact that I have 2 college degrees? The fact that I was assistant manager of a store? What?!?! I want to know!

And there's no NHL!!!!

There were a few good things about 2004, though.

  • I got to see something I never thought I'd see unless I went to Toronto: I got to see (and touch!!!) the Holy Grail of Hockey... the Stanley Cup. It was so cool. And there was a hockey player to go with it: Ruslan Fedotenko!

  • I got to see my best friend and her family! It had been two years since I'd seen them.

  • My best bud and his wife started a family! Yay! Welcome to the world, little Christoph!

  • I found this place and rediscovered my love of anime and manga, which had been suppressed for quite a while. I must admit that I was unsure of what to expect here, but now that I've been here since the middle of May, it's been a blast. I've met a lot of really cool people. Hugs to you all!

Anyhoo...I think I've ranted and babbled enough. Vash & Kenshin are threatening to break out the bubbly to celebrate the New Years. I find that interesting, 'cause I don't have any bubbly! Happy New Year, everyone!

I think Kenshin is surprised that the year is over already.

   One of those days....

I was the only non-staff person over at the learning center today, I think. Spent not quite five hours studying the expert levels for MS Word & Excel. Word is good. Excel is shaky at that level. I got a helluva lot of studying to do.

After that, things went a bit downhill. Traffic was the main pain for me. Again, people were having issues with the speed limit. And again, the issue was getting up to the speed limit. Then there was the accident on the street I like to take to get home. It's a three land street where the accident was, the police could have been directing the traffic around the spot. But they weren't, so I had to turn around and take a long alternate route home. The way traffic was this afternoon made me want to go to a hockey game to blow off a little steam. But, as the NHL is in a "lockout" and the Lancers are on a two-week break in their schedule, there was no hockey for me to see. *grrrowls*

Vash: *offers me a piece of dark chocolate covered caramel* Here, this will make you feel better.

Me: *grabs caramel and consumes it with glee* Hey...that was one of the caramels my sister brought over! You're not doing anything extra special. *grabs sakabato and chases after Vash*

Vash: Yikes! She's at it again! Kenshin, help!

Kenshin: If you insist, Vash-sama. *grabs own sakabato and chases after Vash as well*

Edit: I feel I should warn you... there may be an End of Year Rant tomorrow. I don't know yet.... aw, who cares? *sigh*

   How to torment a Kitsune....

Force her to go through incredibly boring and confusing tutorials for Microsoft Access 2000!!!

Yes... I just spent about 5 hours going through about half of one tutorial! I'm really not looking forward to having to take a test on this thing.

Vash & Kenshin: *no longer hiding behind the couch*

Vash: Okay...I think it's time for her to go to bed.

Kenshin: This one agrees.

Vash: All right, Kitsune! Stop playing around on that computer and go to bed! Kenshin and I will take care of things out here for you!

Me: *looks at them with great suspicion* Kenshin I can trust not to break anything. You, on the other hand, will probably leave destruction in your wake!

Vash: *gets that incredibly cute hurt expression*

Me: Stop that! You know I'm powerless against that look!

Kenshin: Come along now, Kitsune-dono. You need to get some sleep. You're starting to babble again.

Me: Maybe you're right. I do need to get some sleep.

Vash: *gives Kenshin the thumbs up*

Me: *allows myself to be propelled toward the back of the apartment*

Sorry I didn't hit sites today! Access and Demon Spawn got the best of me.

   Lazy lazy lazy

Yep. That's me! I was going to work on my tutorials this afternoon. I didn't. I fiddled around with Demon Spawn for a while this morning and actually got IE off of it, sort of. I even got it to start to reinstall IE! It made it to 81% of installation before stalling! Woohoo! Go Demon Spawn! I think I'm going to try it again while making & eating supper tonight.

So... this evening is going to be spent hanging out in the tutorial site. Yippee skippy.

And now something a little more serious. Let's all take a moment from our busy lives to remember all those who have been affected by the tsunami in southeast Asia and India. I really wish I could do something to help the relief missions, but at this point in my life I'm just not able to. So, say a prayer for them, if that be something you feel all right with. Thanks.

   Late night postyness

Okay.. as an experiment, I'm putting up my email and a brand-spankin' new AIM name. I just have to remember to log into AIM now.

I may have to go to bed now. I'll be back in the evening sometime. That is if I don't go stark raving mad from spending the day in my study sites.

   Stuff and nonsense....

Not much happened today. I went over to the center to get some lab time in on the computer again. Spent pretty much the whole day there. Had some issues with the website thing, but I'm getting used to that. So...I guess that means that one of these days I'm going to have to take the real certification tests and not play around with pre-assessments.

An answer to a question Mamma Vash had: No, we didn't have any snow for Christmas at all. This December has been really weird weather-wise. The temperature has been above normal. Today was in the mid-40s again. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid-50s. All this nice weather is leading me to think one thing: we're going to be socked hard later on in maybe January or February.

I really should draw something. I spent the weekend at my parents' house and they have a scanner. Do you think I could have had something done to scan and put up? No! I didn't do a thing! I am such a lazy individual.

More laziness: I haven't worked on my writing since May. I haven't worked on either my Greek or Japanese since October. What the heck happened to me? Why am I so lazy?

I have sort of been working on an idea for my character Hikaru. I'm thinking more along the lines of putting him in the Meiji era. Some of the ideas work better there, but I may do some thinking about the modern times yet. I'll let you know more as time passes by. To see Hikaru, scroll down & look at my fanart. He's the two newest ones.

And now... after a short hiatus...

Vash & Kenshin: *hiding behind the couch*

Vash: Hey, Kenshin! Was it a good idea giving Kitsune that sword?

Kenshin: This one is thinking it may have been a bad idea, but at least Kitsune-dono won't take this one's sakabato any more.

Me: *running around waving new sakabato* Woohoo!!!!!!! Give me donuts!

Kinda lame, eh?
