Can't find an appropriate smiley
I need one that has a truly crazy expression. That's the type of mood I'm in right now. I should try to settle down and go to sleep....it's pushing 1:00 am.
+_+_+_+
Okay. Monday's InuYasha almost made me cry. I was glad no one was trying to chat with me on MSN messenger through that episode. And I still swear that Sesshomaru is getting mellow! He even told Kagome something ..... nice!
+_+_+_+_+
I haven't wound down enough to go to bed yet, so I just left the TV on. Lupin III is on now. I haven't watched it for a month or two.... It's the same episode that was on the last time I watched it! Ack!!!!
+_+_+_+_+
I am hungry. I should find food. Maybe that blueberry muffin that is calling my name from the fridge. Yeah...that will do nicely.

Nothing in particular, but GRRRR anyways
Stupid wacked out class schedule. Got night classes today & tomorrow. Blah.
Traffic sucked as usual. The west part of Omaha will be nice if they ever get it finished!!!!
+_+_+_+_+_+
And on a lighter note...I may have another picture to go up eventually. Just gotta figure out how I'm gonna finish it off and find a scanner. Heck, I should just break down and buy one of them printer/scanner combo thingies.
Oh well...back later tonight. Maybe. Don't be hurt if I don't visit tonight. I may do it tomorrow during the day.

Okay....
I went to the zoo Saturday. I saw this sign. I looked and I looked and I looked, but I just couldn't see any gun-toting, cigarette-smoking, sunglasses-wearing priests hanging out with spikey-haired, red coat-wearing, donut-scarfing gunmen!

Why I won't go to a mall on September 11.
Three years ago today I was the assistant manager at a bookstore in the mall in Sioux City. I had been on vacation and it was my first day back. The manager went on vacation that day and didn't leave me any notes about anything in the store and it was a rather confusing morning. The calendar kiosk was set up the day before and things weren't quite right there as well. I was scheduled to work with the biggest airhead on the staff. I was trying to get things figured out when the phone rang and it was one gal that would be considered next in line in the management heirarchy. She was all panicky as she said an airplane had just hit one of the towers of the World Trade Center. She is not the type of person that gets panicky. Really. She was saying stuff like, "It's world war three!" I was not paying close attention to what she was saying and snapped back that I was having enough of a crisis in the store. After we got the store open I went to the bank. The mall entrance that was closest to the bank had a TV store right next to it. I didn't pay attention to the TVs as I left the mall to go over to the bank. As I got back to the mall, I stopped to look at the TVs as I passed. The second tower was hit just as I stopped. I stopped by the kiosk and told my Mom what happened. "It's bad, Mom," I said...and went back to the store. The girl I was working with had made one sale while I was gone. I told her what happened.
She was shocked, but I don't really know how she felt about it. A half hour after the store was opened, the announcement came over the mall P.A. system that due to the events of the morning, the mall would be closing. We were out of there around 11:00 a.m. My Mom & I drove back home. Things were just not the same after that.
The following year, without even asking for the day off, the new manager actually gave me the day off. Last year, I was working over in Omaha. Today I went to the zoo with my brother.
If he hadn't come down, I would probably have gone to the library and to the Western Trails center or to Lake Manawa. Anything but a mall. I have to be outside or doing something else.
I also go against the "norm" by not wearing red, white and blue. I wear black. It's not that I'm "anti-American." It's just that I'd rather show respect for all that was lost in the attacks: lives, families, trust, open-mindedness.
And so, in closing, I wish you all health and happiness. Keep an open mind....but not so open that your brain falls out.

Traffic rant
Well...the traffic today was the same as yesterday: a pain in the arse!
My rant actually applies to night driving. I'm incredibly nearsighted. As in, I'm so nearsighted that I see about 6 inches clearly without my glasses. Well, one of the drawbacks to being nearsighted is a slight sensitivity to bright lights. I drive a 1999 Plymouth Neon Expresso...a small car. Well, oncoming headlights are a bit painful thanks to being nearsighted. Just add to the mix a fullsized pickup or SUV. Their headlights hit my car dead center in the windshield, or right at my eye level. Or when they come up behind me at a stop light, the lights hit my side mirror just right to blind me. My brother couldn't understand why I complained about headlights of trucks & SUVs until one time we went to Sioux City and I was driving. I pulled into a parking space at the mall and there was a honkin' huge pickup in the facing stall. I told him to look at where the headlights are and where they line up to me in the car. He then understood. He doesn't have the problem because he's 6 inches taller than me and the lights don't hit him the same way.
Anynhoo... this was supposed to be a rant. Maybe I just wasn't as worked up about it as I thought. Maybe I just wanted to whine a while. Now I'll go find some cheese to go with that whine....

OMG!
I'm 39 years old...you'd think that by now I'd know my left from my right. The panel I was referring to is on the upper LEFT corner, not the upper right.
*smacks self in forehead for being so baka*
+_+_+_+_+
It's break time at class. I'm learning stuff about Word 2000 again. Yay. I'd rather be home watching TV.
Better go...people are filtering back into the room.

A lighter view of things.
Florida Hurricane Season Notes:
We're about to enter the peak of the hurricane season in Florida. If you're new to the area, you're probably wondering what you need to do to prepare for the possibility that we'll get hit by "the big one." Based on our experiences, we recommend that you follow this simple three-step hurricane preparedness plan:
STEP 1. Buy enough food and bottled water to last your family for at least three days.
STEP 2. Put these supplies into your car.
STEP 3. Drive to Nebraska and remain there until Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately, statistics show that most people will not follow this sensible plan. Most people will foolishly stay here in Florida. We'll start with one of the most important hurricane preparedness items:
HOMEOWNERS' INSURANCE: If you own a home, you must have hurricane insurance. Fortunately, this insurance is cheap and easy to get, as long as your home meets two basic requirements:
(1) It is reasonably well-built, and...
(2) It is located in Nebraska.
Unfortunately, if your home is located in Florida, or any other area that might actually be hit by a hurricane, most insurance companies would prefer not to sell you hurricane insurance, because then they might be required to pay YOU money, and that is certainly not why they got into the insurance business in the first place.
EVACUATION ROUTE: If you live in a low-lying area, you should have an evacuation route planned out. (To determine whether you live in a low-lying area, look at your driver's license; if it says "Florida", you live in a low-lying area.) The purpose of having an evacuation route is to avoid being trapped in your home when a major storm hits. Instead, you will be trapped in a gigantic traffic jam several miles from your home, along with two hundred thousand other evacuees. So, as a bonus, you will not be lonely.
Of course these are just basic precautions. As the hurricane draws near, it is vitally important that you keep abreast of the situation by turning on your television and watching TV reporters in rain slickers stand right next to the ocean and tell you over and over how vitally important it is for everybody to stay away from the ocean.
Good luck, and remember: It's great living in Paradise (a.k.a. "The Sunshine State").
+_+_+_+_+
Just remember, in Nebraska you'll have to put up with tornadoes in the summer and blizzards in the winter.... and Cornhusker football in the fall. There's not much in the way of spring...usually skip that season completely.

Blah.
Man... the traffic across Council Bluffs and Omaha sucked today/Tuesday. It took me an hour to get across town. Blah blah blah.
+_+_+_+
I did get a haircut this morning. I feel about five pounds lighter!! I had about 4 inches cut off. I also was really naughty and bought the Punisher DVD and the first Case Closed manga. Haven't watched the DVD yet, but have read the manga. I liked it. But one thing I noticed, Rachel's hair doesn't have the pointy part!!! Also, I still keep laughing about Jimmy's thoughts in the upper right panel on page 59.
Well...I think I'm gonna head out now. Maybe tomorrow I'll get some more stuff done. I'm not looking forward to that traffic again. Blah.
