   Oh... well...

I think I'm gonna give up for the night. I got the download completed with no problems. Still no news about my fan art. *sigh*

Well.... time to try that software upgrade again

Since I'm waiting for things, I may as well try to download that software update I was trying to do earlier. May check back for my fan art much later.

   Arrrgh...

This waiting for my fan art to be approved is not good for my already frustrated soul!

I'm waiting... for lots of things:
For my job search to turn up with something... anything!
For money to support my manga/anime habit. (Trigun Maximum volume 1 in stores now! I actually sat on the floor at B&N reading it this afternoon!)
For my friends from Arkansas to stop to see me on their way to or from the family reunion in Montana.
For my friends from western Nebraska to visit the east end of the state for a change.
For winning the lottery.... oops! Gotta play it first!

*sigh*

Laters. I think I may go draw something.....

Is there Fan Art in your future?

If they approve what I just submitted, yes! I broke it down into three little files and they all were successfully submitted. Thanks, Teia, for your suggestion about 500 pixels!

Now the waiting begins.....

   Goku is MINE!!!

Well. I'm finally home. I had so much fun over the weekend. Drove up to the parents' house on Friday. That afternoon, my brother & I wandered around Sioux City for a while. We got rained on several times, but it was fun anyways.

Saturday we went up to Sioux Falls to my oldest brother's house for the annual family rebellion & cook-out. That was lots of fun. One of my sisters got t-shirts for all of us. Mom & Dad's shirts said "Who are all these kids, and why are they calling me Mom/Dad?" And for the siblings and me... my oldest sister: "I'm the big sister"; my oldest brother: "I'm the big brother"; the sister that got the shirts: "I'm the middle sister"; the other brother: "I'm the little brother"; and me: "I'm the little sister." It was so funny... my brothers are both over 6 foot tall & the oldest one knelt and put shoes under his knees so he looked short and my sister got a picture of them together like that. We also had a picture taken of all of us standing behind Mom & Dad and all wearing our shirts. My family is so crazy. My oldest sister and her family and the younger of my brothers couldn't stay for the 4th though. Saturday night we went out to a farm with a lot of fireworks. My nephews had so much fun, as did my niece and her boyfriend, with the fireworks. My nephews are 10 and 20 years old. The older one was lighting M-150s and holding them for a while and then throwing them into a barrel of water. Boom! Splash! Way fun! We shot off fireworks until almost 11 and then went back to my brother's house.

Sunday the 4th started out nice and relaxed. We went to Falls Park. There's actually waterfalls in own in Sioux Falls! I've been there before, but it's still a very nice park and it's a lot of fun to watch. There's a watchtower there so you can get a good look at the falls from the air. After the park, we went to the U.S.S. South Dakota memorial. The South Dakota was the most decorated ship of WW2. Sadly, the ship has been scrapped, but they built a wall around that shows the shape and size of the ship. They also have some of the guns, the tower, and the propellor on display. In the museum building there are models and displays about WW2 and the South Dakota. It's very moving to see a piece of the U.S.S. Arizona on display.

That night we all went to the fairground for a concert and fireworks. The concert was fun. It started out with the Sioux Falls Municipal Band. Nice traditional 4th of July music. Then it went to a group that had some fun stuff for the kids. It was fun to watch a bunch of little kids (and some big ones, too) dancing around. Then there was the two rock bands. One did a bunch of old 60s & 70s music... poorly. They did a bunch of songs I don't really like and did them bad. Their singer couldn't sing very well. The second band was more to my liking. They played some more recent stuff. My parents didn't really like them. *giggle* Then the fireworks went off! Oh, man, it's been ages since I've seen a decent display like that!!!

All in all... it was a great weekend. I've come out of it with a few bug bites and a renewed sense of something. Maybe it's optimism. My Mom gave me "magic bells." These bells came from a religious group that spent time at the conference center where she was doing volunteer work this spring. So, they're bound to have some special quality to them. ^_^

And the comment about Goku... my brother (the younger one) gave me the model of Goku he made a few years ago! Yay! I now have the posable Goku! Hee hee hee!!! Life is good!!!!

   Grrr....

I tried four times to get my picture submitted for the Fan Art. Each time it came up with an error. First one: needs to be smaller than 200 KB. No problem. Got it under that. Second try: needs to be smaller than 750 x 1000 pixels. Again, no problem, just resample it in CorelPaint. Third try: same error as second try. No problem: resampled it so it was 999 x whatever. Fourth try: needs to be JPEG. It _is_ already JPEG. Fifth try: needs to be smaller than 750 x 1000 pixels. Problem: ARRRRRGGGGHHH!!! I thought it was! I'm gonna try one more time to see if it will go through. If not, I'll wait until the weekend is over and fight with it at my place!

What time zone is this place in?

Hey...it's still the 2nd for me, but this will show as posted on the 3rd. Wha?

Anyhoo...I'm at the parents' house tonight, and I'm very tired. I should go to bed. But I did get the pictures scanned in. Yay me!

I think I'll try posting one of them. Just to see what y'all think of it. Sound like a plan? Good!

Laters, y'all!

   The upcoming holiday weekend

I'll be driving up to the Sioux City IA area to my parents' house. Then we'll be going up to Sioux Falls SD for the annual Family Rebellion. We tried calling it a reunion, but it just didn't work. *grin* Actually, you gotta know my family to understand... we're all a bit crazy. But in the best way! I probably won't post much until I get back. One good thing about getting to my parents' house: they have a scanner!!!!! I can scan in my pictures for my manga lesson! I may post them here.

w00t!
