Well, then..... what now?
It's Monday. I'm at work... I'm slightly out of it.
The carpenter said he was going to show up today, so I got up early so I could let him in. He never showed up before I left for work. *sigh*
Well, not much else is going on here, so I think I will wander off for now.

This is not a test....
It's Sunday!!!! The second of two days off in a row. *gasp* Well, what have I been up to since Thursday? I'll tell ya...
Friday: worked. It was busy, I didn't have time to get through all of my email. I'm still not through all of it right now. O_o
Saturday: day off. It was really nice out. I spent about $25 on batteries and film for my 35 millimeter camera, so I suggested to my brother that we go outside and find something interesting to look at and take pictures. We ended up at Stone State Park. I didn't take a lot of pictures, so it's gonna be a while before I can post any of them anywhere. We walked a lot. We heard lots of birds while walking around in the woods. We also saw a couple deer! Cool! Didn't get any pictures of them though.
Sunday: another day off. We went to LeMars. Ate at McDonald's & ran around Walmart. Big excitement. Now I'm laying on the floor with the computer. The cats are starting to beg for their treat, but they gotta wait a few minutes yet. The show I'm watching isn't over yet!
Umm... nothing else exciting is going on. Hopefully tomorrow the carpenter and plumber will show up to start getting the cabinets and fixtures in the bathroom. Whee!

Progress has been made again.
Well, some more progress has been made again on the bathroom. The floor guy got the linoleum put in. It's so cute!!! The room is starting to look like a bathroom again. Now we have to wait for the cabinets and fixtures to come in.
Other progress in my life... Um, it's Thursday, so there was progress in the laundry department. But that's not important. I did find a helpful site for kanji. One thing about it... they don't list the kanji in any order that I can make sense of, so I spend a lot of time looking through it for what I'm after. I end up spotting things that I found a little, well, odd. Like the kanji for crotch. O_o
That was the excitement of my day. Now I'm laying on the floor with the computer and watching TV. I should finish reading my email.

I got up too early....
...but I had to. The painters came today. It's actually a little past noon right now, and they just got back from lunch. At least I think they got some lunch.... Oh well. Anyhoo... the kitchen ceiling has been painted and looks really nice. I haven't looked at the bathroom yet. Once the painting is done, I can get ahold of the floor guy.
Otherwise... I have to work as usual today. However, I don't have to be there until about 4:15 or so. I went in early yesterday because the morning girl had a doctor's appointment. She'll work the amount of time she missed yesterday.
Not much else is going on right now. I've got an old movie on TV. I didn't see the beginning of it, so I'm not really sure what's going on. I know the people are in a submarine. The admiral is a little on the crazy side. Missiles were just fired at them. Hmm... I think it's almost over.

Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow!!!!
Well, it's still Sunday for me. For another 17 minutes anyhoo....
It was a day off. Hooray! After last night, I needed it. It was busy last night and I was the only one behind the desk that was able to do anything. Yep, I had to work a busy Saturday night with the little psycho. He had a friend with him last night, so he was out of my hair for the most part. It made for a better night in the long run. However, the screaming lady was not entirely fun, but I did end up laughing at her in the end. Well, not to her face. I could lose the job for doing that. But we did end up laughing about her. She was upset because she didn't get fresh towels yesterday morning. I just think she wanted to scream. What made it amusing in the end was the one guy from the wedding party leaning on the counter with a complete look of disbelief on his face as the lady screamed her head off. After she left and a couple of his friends came into the lobby, he was "Dude! You missed it!!! It was great!"
Well, most of my evening has been spent watching Doctor Who. My brother recorded the new episode from Friday night for me and I started out with that. Then there was another episode on PBS at 6:00. I tried to watch a show about how the Earth was formed on the History Channel, but found the narration to be rather boring. And that is pretty bad, considering I'm a geologist! Then I spotted a couple video tapes on the floor that said Doctor Who on them. That was about 7:30. It's now 11:52... I've been watching those tapes for almost 5 hours! I have to take a break from them at midnight. The Dead Zone is on then. I think it's the season finale.
Well, I seem to have babbled about TV here. Cool.

OMG!
I was channel hopping a while ago and came across one of my favorite movies on TBS: The Fifth Element with Bruce Willis. I cannot believe how horribly bad the editing was on it. They had cut out so much stuff that some of the continuity was lost! Arrrgh! Fortunately I have it on DVD and started that up. Now I'm watching it uncut! Hooray!
Well, it's still Thursday for about 15 minutes. A little progress was made on the bathroom remodel. The guy from the local floor covering store came down and measured the bathroom. My brother & I went down and I picked out the linoleum for the floor. It's really kind of pretty. It's a light tan with a green flower design in it. Then the lady that's gonna do the painting came and we picked out a color for the walls. She also discovered that the kitchen ceiling was not painted in the first place. So... that spot that got redone doesn't match the rest of the ceiling and painting just that spot won't work. The whole kitchen ceiling may have to be painted. This remodel sure is turning out to be more than they probably thought it would be!
Well... my movie is getting to the end part that is really good. I think I'm gonna watch it out.

Ever have one of those days....
... where you just feel like slapping people for being stupid? Today seems like one of them. I'd have a sore hand from all the slapping.
Anyhoo... I'm at work as usual. I'm just over halfway through my shift now. It's not going fast enough. Can't wait for 11:00 pm. Then I've got tomorrow off! Whee! Will do laundry as usual. Maybe do some other stuff as well. Maybe work on Japanese stuff that I've been avoiding for a week because of having lost my ability to concentrate due to lack of sleep. Maybe do some writing.
*gasp* Writing!!!!
Actually, I've been doing some writing the past few days. I was going to post part of my story here, but decided the part I have done needs more added to it. There's a gap between it and the next part. I gotta fill it in!
Well, it seems to be time to move along to other more exciting things... like reversing phone charges! Yeeee haaaaa!!!!!!

Six years.....
Today is September 11, 2007. The 6th anniversary of what has been called the largest act of terrorism on American soil.
Has it really been that long? What have we done in those six years? Has anything made a difference?
I know that there are many people out there that see the United States as this great evil entity, but that's not what I want to talk about here.
I just think it would be nice if we all could remember the tragedy of that day six years ago. It touched the entire world, not just the United States. The World Trade Center was home to many international businesses as well, so many foreign nationals died there, too. Think of all the lives that have been changed by that day.
I wasn't close to anyone that was killed or injured that day, but I did worry about my best friend's father. I knew he worked in security in Washington DC, but couldn't remember where he worked. Thankfully, it was not the Pentagon, so he was all right. I told my friend and she thanked me for my concern.
Anyhoo... I think I'll just close this for now. I hope everyone is all right today.
Never forget....
