   Gabba gabba hey!

Monday night at work. I've actually been kinda busy with all sorts of things. Sure has made the night fly by. I'm finally getting a little chance to take a breather. It's 8:24 pm and I've been here since 3:00. Only 2.5 hours to go!

Well, I think I will go do some more stuff that actually applies to work... like answer the phone. *grrrowwwl*

Sunday.

Well, I survived the weekend. I don't know how, but it happened. Here's the nutshell of what happened:

Friday: work. Was busy and not a lot of fun. The cool thing is, there was a live band playing in the bar, so we had some music! Woohoo!

Saturday: day off! My brother & I went to see Stardust. It's very good! I don't think I'll ever be able to take the orchestral piece Orpheus in the Underworld seriously ever again, thanks to the one scene with Robert DeNiro! I still start to giggle whenever I think of it! We also went to the mall. I got a Trinity Blood novel. Read it before bed last night. Then off to Target and I bought a new cellphone. My old one is getting a little weird. I got the new one activated. Now I just have to get the minutes transferred off the old one. Yippee.

Sunday: today. Working. Yahoo. Can you feel the excitement? It's very very very quiet. I've already cleaned up some of the papers that were left lying around from yesterday. I've also fixed some of the mistakes that were made by the guy that worked overnight last night. Some of his mistakes are going to take a lot more work, so I am going to ask my brother if he can fix them.

So... here it is. About 7:20 pm. I'm starting to get bored, but realize that there's probably something out there that I could do to keep boredom from taking over.

   I'm such a doofus sometimes!

Well, today being Thursday (despite what that says up there), I had decided what I was going to do while doing laundry. I decided I was going to work a little bit on my fiction site and get the prequels to Hikaru's story ready to post. I was doing a little rewrite on one of them and realized that I should double check some of the notes I had made quite some time ago. I suddenly got the feeling that I had screwed up the order in which things happened. So.... I ended up going online to research Japanese history. *sigh* Therefore, I ended up not getting anywhere on the prequels, but I did get some important information about Japanese history that is going to help me straighten out a few things.

So, that was the big excitement of my day. Now I'm sitting and playing around on the computer and online, half-watching TV. It's not quite midnight now... maybe I'll go find something truly interesting to do...

   Rainy day & slow internet...

Well, it's 1:40 pm on Wednesday. I'll have to consider getting ready for work here in about an hour or so.

It's raining right now. The rain on the roof in the kitchen sounds so nice. Very relaxing. *yawn* Great. I'm gonna be sleepy for work!

The drive to work will be interesting to say the least because of the lack of air conditioning and defrost in my car. The drive home last night was really different. It was quite foggy out. So... I had both windows open, wipers going, and the defrost turned onto the hottest temperature. Yes, I said the defrost doesn't work, but having it set to the hottest temperature makes it work like a blow dryer and keeps the inside of the windshield clear. Not a pleasant way to drive home.

*^*^*^*^*

Now, as for the slow internet. I think part of my problem there was the fact that I had OpenOffice Writer, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Mozilla Firefox and my solitaire game all running at the same time. Silly me!

I just put up another chapter in my story down below. It's been just a little over three months since I last posted any of it. I was truly efficient and got it onto the main website right away as well! Go me!

*^*^*^*^*

So, now I do believe I will leave you all. I want to check something else here quick before I absolutely must get offline and go to work.

Voices Again

Hikaru woke to find himself in bed. He had no idea how he had gotten there. He could recall going to see Samantha and Midori at night, but that was the last thing he could remember.

“Ah, you're awake,” someone said. “How are you feeling?”

Hikaru looked to his side and saw his grandfather sitting in a chair with an open book on his lap. "My head hurts,” he said. “What happened?” He tried to sit up.

Nakamura helped him sit up and plumped the pillows behind him. “I was hoping you could tell me. One of the servants found you on the floor outside your room late last night. He said you were in quite a bit of pain.”

“I don't know what happened. I went to talk to Sam-chan. That's all I remember.”

“I see. Well, speaking of Sam-chan, she's been quite anxious to see you since she heard about your collapse. I'll send her in and have lunch brought up for the two of you. Be sure to eat something. Also, the doctor said you're to stay in bed and not get excited.”

“Yes, Grandfather.” Closing his eyes, Hikaru wished the pain would stop. He didn't hear Sam come into the room.

“Konnichi wa, Hikaru-san,” Sam said as she sat in the chair by the bed. “I can come back later if you wish to rest.”

Hikaru opened his eyes. “No, don't leave. I'd like you to stay, please.”

“How are you feeling?”

“My head hurts and the room starts to spin if I move too fast... or at all.”

“Then it's good that you're to stay in bed. I don't think your grandparents would want you to fall down the stairs.” She leaned over and smoothed out the covers.

“No,” he said quietly, “I don't think they would.”

There was a knock at the door, and a servant entered with tray tables that he set up for each of them. A second servant came in and served lunch. “We will return in a while to clear things away, Hikaru-san,” he said, and they left the room.

Hikaru looked at the soup and frowned. “I'm really not hungry,” he said.

“You have to eat,” Sam said. “You need to build up your strength.”

“It won't make any difference,” he said quietly.

“What did you say?”

“It's nothing. Never mind.” Hikaru started on the soup.

“Don't tell me it's nothing. Something is wrong, Hikaru-san. I worry about you. I came all the way here from Boston just to find you so I can help you, and you just push me away whenever I show signs of caring.”

Hikaru stopped eating. Quietly he said, “I'm sorry, Sam-chan. I don't mean to push you away. I just don't know how to react. I've never been sick like this before. I don't know what to do.” He paused. Even more quietly than before, he added, “I'm scared.”

“I'm here, Hikaru-san,” Sam said. “You don't have to be scared. Takeda-sensei has told me things haven't been easy for you lately. I have no idea what you're going through, but I want you to know that I'll be here with you. All right?”

Hikaru nodded.

“So talk to me. It always helps me to tell someone what's wrong. And finish your soup.”

Hikaru began to talk about all that happened since the day that Satsuo knocked him out at the dojo. Sam would ask questions when something confused her or comment as needed. She was right, Hikaru found. He didn't feel as scared now that he'd shared his secrets with her.

They had almost finished eating when there was another explosion of voices in Hikaru's head. “YOU WENT BEHIND MY BACK, ASHIDA-SAN! YOU IGNORED MY INSTRUCTIONS!” Another voice, “I WONDER IF THE CHILDREN ARE FINISHED WITH THEIR LUNCH.” “WHY WON'T HOSHIWARA TALK TO ME?” Hikaru grabbed his head and screamed, scattering food all over the bed.

“Hikaru!” Sam yelled. She reached over to to try to calm him, but he screamed again and lashed out. Sam got up to run for help, forgetting her crutches, and fell by the chair knocking over her own tray table. “Somebody, help!” she screamed.

The servant who had brought lunch was returning and heard the screaming from Hikaru's room. He entered to find Sam on the floor and Hikaru convulsed with pain on the bed. He went to Sam first. “Are you all right, miss?”

“I'm fine,” Sam said. “Take care of him.”

The servant looked at Hikaru. “I will be back,” he said. “I will get Nakamura.” He nearly ran from the room.

Nakamura came in a few minutes later. He helped Sam off the floor. “What happened? Did he hurt you?”

“No, I fell. I was going to get help and forgot my crutches,” she said as she sat on the chair again. “We were talking and he just screamed suddenly. I don't know what happened.”

Nakamura went to restrain Hikaru. “Can you reach the table there?” he asked Sam. “In the drawer is some medicine.”

Sam stretched over to the table. She could just reach the drawer. She found the package and handed it to Nakamura. “Here it is.”

“Thank you, Samantha-san. Ah, your tea has spilled, too. I need some water.”

Sam reached for her crutches. “I'll find someone. Just wait, please.”

“Two days, Nakamura-kun, two days,” came a voice from the balcony.

Nakamura and Sam turned to see a tall man with green hair standing just inside the room. He walked over to Hikaru's side and sighed. Like the night before, he touched Hikaru's forehead and whispered something that calmed the boy.

“Who are you?” Sam asked. “What did you just do?”

Nakamura held his breath and watched as the man turned to look at Sam. He reached out and lifted her face so he could see it better. Much to Nakamura's surprise, the man smiled.

“My name is Tôshi, young lady,” he said. “I quieted his mind. He'll rest now, but he needs to go somewhere else. Nakamura-kun knows where. You may go with him. I will allow it. You're quite special, dear heart.” He bowed to Sam and turned back to the balcony. “Two days,” he said as he left the room.

“Who was that?” Sam asked.

Nakamura sighed with relief. “I'm so glad you're all right,” he said. “I was afraid he was going to hurt you.”

“Who is he? How did he know to call me that? Only my grandmother calls me that.” There was slight panic in her voice.

Nakamura started to clean up the spilled dishes and food. “I think he's Hikaru's other grandfather,” he said. He stopped and looked at the bowl in his hand. “Do you know about Hikaru's mother?” he asked.

“I know she disappeared when Hikaru was small. Takeda-sensei told me that.”

“You've been staying with Hikaru and Takeda for a while now, right? Have you noticed anything unusual about my grandson?”

“What do you mean?”

“Appearance? Behavior? Anything like that?”

“Well, yes, I suppose I have. Why do you ask?”

Nakamura sighed. “I suppose he really should be the one to tell you this, but he's asleep now. His mother was a yôkai... a demon. Her people live on a hill on my family estate. Have you seen Hikaru's other form?”

“The silver one? Yes, he's quite... handsome that way.”

“That comes from his mother's clan. They're a rather beautiful race.”

“But Tôshi is different, isn't he?”

“Yes,” Nakamura said, “and that worries me. I suppose I should see if Doctor Hajime has arrived. I'll send someone to clean this up and change the coverlet on the bed. Will you stay here with him?”

“Of course I will. He stayed by my side while I was ill just a few days ago. It's the least I can do to return the favor.”

“Is there anything you need?”

“Yes, I'd like my sewing. Midori-san knows where it is.”

“Certainly, my dear,” Nakamura said. He left and a servant came in shortly after to take away the remains of lunch. Nakamura returned a little later with Sam's sewing and Doctor Hajime.

Hajime fussed over Hikaru for a bit and gave him some more medicine. “I gave him a stronger sedative,” he said. “It should keep him calm for the rest of the day and into tomorrow. Give him more if he seems restless.”

Nakamura left with Hajime, but came back a little while later. “I brought you a bell. If you need anything, someone will come and take care of you. Is that all right?”

“Yes, thank you, Nakamura-san,” Sam said. “I'm sure I'll be fine here.”

Nakamura took his leave, and Sam sat patiently at Hikaru's side, sewing and watching.

   Yes... we have no bananas

Well, that was a semi-random subject line...

As for the previous post. That was a little rant from work Sunday night. I was a little annoyed by how many things weren't functional for some reason or another.

Monday was a day off. Hooray. I repotted a plant, cleaned up after my seriously barfy cat, watered the other plants, washed a rug, got the mail, worked on a little bit of Japanese, and made dinner. I did a lot of stuff, really.

Now it's just past midnight, so it's Tuesday. In the past hour or so, my sinuses have decided to hurt so much that my teeth hurt on one side of my head. Ouch. I think my sinus medicine wore off....

Oh... so now what to do? I think I will go check one more thing online here and maybe go to bed...

   Rear end's broken... Axle's draggin'....

Yep. Things aren't working again.

1. The exercise room is temporarily out of order. It has been for a while now. The equipment had been in really bad shape. It was actually dangerous. People really piss and moan about it being out of order. It's either that or have a lawsuit on our hands. Deal with it, people!

2. The hot-tub is temporarily out of order. It's going to be painted. That happens every year at this time. The indoor pool will be drained and painted, too! We always paint it this time of year. There's an outdoor pool, so go use that!

3. The courtesy van is dead. I don't know what the guy that drove after me last night did to it, but he killed it. It won't start. We have to call cabs for the railroaders. Hey, they're not paying for the cabs, so don't complain. But... that's first nature for many of them. *sigh*

So... there ya have it. One busy weekend and the place goes to hell.

*^**^*^*

So I'm lazy. I just cut & pasted my post from deviantArt tonight. Hell, at least I posted.

Well, then.... what happened to Kitsune?

Yes, I have returned. I apologize for not being around for several days. It's been a weird week.

Sunday: worked as usual. It was pretty quiet and I was actually able to do stuff on my own computer that night. Hooray for wireless!

Monday: worked as usual. This was the 4th day of 6 in a row. It was busy like Mondays normally are. I was ready to strangle the psycho within 5 minutes of his arrival. I may not have felt very well that night. That's when the apathy had started to set in.

Tuesday: worked again. It was busy, but not as busy as last Tuesday. It was busier than Monday, too. I really did not feel good that day at all. I actually should have stayed at home. That's how horrible I felt.

Wednesday: worked yet again. The last of 6 days in a row. Felt better, but still was a bit on the apathetic side. Maybe even annoyed with things. There's a class reunion in the motel.... Central High School Class of 1947! Yes, the motel is filled with old people. These people are all the same age my parents are. My parents aren't old! Sheesh!

Thursday: Day off. Hooray! I slept in to about 10:20 and spent the day doing laundry. I also finally had someone come over to look at our upstairs bathroom. It's only been three weeks since the one guy came over and put a hole in our kitchen ceiling to figure out where the leak is. *shakes head* I must admit that I am a little frustrated with them for taking so long to come over, especially since I had to call them up to see why they hadn't come over! The carpenter guy that came over told me he thought working on our bathroom would be a "nice winter project." Yeah, right! I told the one person I called that my parents are out of town until November, it would be nice to have the leak fixed and everything done by the time they got back! Considering the plumber guy is the one that put in the new garbage disposal in the kitchen two years ago... then took another year to come back and fix the leak he caused under the sink! The only reason they chose this guy is because they're local.

Now it's early Friday morning. Just about 1:15 am. I should be sleeping or reading some manga, but I have a couple more things to say.

1. Warm thoughts go out to Minneapolis and St. Paul and all the people affected by the collapse of the 35W bridge on Wednesday. It's such a tragedy. Words fail me as to my thoughts of what happened there.

2. More warm thoughts go out to the truck driver that was burned when his truck blew up in Sioux Center, IA, on Tuesday. I'm very thankful that no one was killed in that explosion and that firefighters were on the scene quickly to get the fire under control. It could have been a lot worse: the explosion happened at the Co-op and was within yards of several ammonia tanks and railcars full of gasoline and ethanol.

So, now, I will leave you. Happy weekend to you all.

   Still apathetic.

I didn't want to come to work today. Moreso than usual.

It's hot out... again.

I suppose I could do some actual work again.

   Apathy sets in....

I'm at work as usual and apathy has set in. It's only marginally better than how I felt about 5 hours ago when I was slightly homicidal.

Yes, the psycho has gotten on my nerves. I want him to just shut the f**k up and leave me alone. It will never happen.

That last post was done while working, too. I was in a rather weird mood.

I really hate this place sometimes. Hell, I really hate this place most of the time! I just need to have something to go to for a job before I leave here.
