There's a hole in the middle of it all...

Well, actually, there's a hole in the kitchen ceiling. The plaster has been coming down for quite a while because something in the upstairs bathroom has been leaking. When I discovered water on the scanner and computer in the kitchen, I called the guy that we're supposed to call if something goes wrong in the house. The repair guy came today and checked it out. He cut an eight inch hole into the ceiling in the kitchen to try to figure out just what leaks up there. It took a while and he finally narrowed it down to the bathtub. He also said that the way our shower is set up is kind of dumb. I agree with him about that, but it's really the only way we can have a shower in that bathroom. The shower was put in not too long after we moved into this house... we've been in it for almost 18 years. Things are bound to start leaking after that long.

Well, anyhoo... here's pictures of the hole in the ceiling.

Fascinating, aren't they?

   Arrrrrrgggghhh!!!!

Nothing in particular making me say that. I'm just at work and am almost bored. I do have my kanji and kana with me that I can practice my writing. (a/k/a really bad penmanship!)

However, there are a couple things making me say "Arrrrrgggghhh!!!!"

1. I can't breathe very well right now. The maintenance man will sit in the back office and smoke. My lungs have decided to try to shut down. Not fun.

2. My little finger on my right hand hurts in the knuckle where it attaches to my hand. I have no idea why. I woke up with it hurting this morning. I don't remember hitting it or bending it backwards or anything. I don't remember anything happening in a dream at all. Weird.

Well, that's about it for me. I'm excited for the new Harry Potter movie starting tomorrow. Also for the new book coming out on the 21st. I still have to read the 5th & 6th books before then. Wish me luck on that one!

   EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

I have no idea what I'm screaming about up there, so don't ask.

As promised, pictures.

Here's the pink sky from the other night after the thunderstorm. My camera makes it more red than pink.

Here's the tree by the church. The town cop was really surprised by how much green was on the branch considering how rotted the thing was.

So... there you have it. Pictures! Now I think I'm going to go downstairs and find something for lunch. I'm not really that hungry, but I better eat something before I go to work.

   Chicks dig giant robots!

Went to see Transformers on Friday. It's way cool and a helluva lot of fun. Much better than both Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Spiderman 3! It's now very high on my list of movies that I must have on DVD.

*^*^*^*^*

And now, something I haven't done for a while... comments on comments!

JungWoo: I'm serious about the turnip thing. I also feel I'm being a little cruel to turnips by saying that. It could also be that I'm being kind to whatever woman would go out with the guy by saying her IQ would have to go UP to that of a turnip.

Iruka Sensei: The only ways for it to get better would be for one of two things to happen: 1. He gets a better job; or 2. I get a better job. I'm not holding my breath for number 1, as the man is almost completely unemployable because he's such an idiot at times.

Shadows Cast by Dusk: You don't know how many times I've wanted to do just that to the guy. I usually end up listening to that little voice in my head screaming, "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" when I work with him. Either that, or just imagining folding him in half and stuffing him in a cupboard somewhere... or a box.

*^*^*^*^*

The excitement of Saturday evening was kind of interesting. My brother & I were lying on the floor talking when the doorbell rang. I got up to see who it was, and the town cop was standing there. I said, "Waa?!?! He did it!" and pointed at my brother. The cop laughed and asked if we have anything to do with the church next door. Well, we sort of do have something to do with it, and he said a branch fell off a tree just to the north of it and was blocking the sidewalk. So I grabbed my sandals and went around to take a look. A truly huge chunk of tree is lying on the ground across the sidewalk next to the church! The cop said he was driving up the street and saw it fall. My reaction was "Holy cow!" My brother came around the house and said, "Holy cats!" I got the camera and took a bunch of pictures. I'll put them up in photobucket when I'm at work tomorrow. I'm at home on the dialup and there's no sense in wasting another half hour on waiting for uploads.

It's now past 2:00 in the morning. I'm going to go to bed!

   Oh...my aching head...

Yep. Once again, I have a headache. It's related to the weather. It's hot & icky out there, so my head hurts. My sinuses were all stuffy this morning, too. I hate my respiratory system sometimes.

Something else that has contributed to the headache: the constant whining and complaining of the bitter, bitter, little man that I am working with tonight. I am ready to grab him by the ear and drag him off and tell him to shut the f*** up. NOTHING is good enough for him about this place. He has nothing good to say about anything. And he wonders why he's still single at the age of 46. Well, if he wasn't such an idiot, he might be able to find a woman. And any woman that would go out with him would have to have the IQ of a turnip.

Well, sorry for ranting there. I realized I haven't done it for a while and needed to vent. I feel a little better, but my head still hurts.

   It finally rained!!!

It's been about 10 days since we last had some rain. It finally rained Tuesday! There was a thunderstorm around 8:30 pm. It was so nice. I was looking out the dining room window and my brother told me not to look at it so it wouldn't go away. I went out after it stopped raining and took a couple pictures of the sky to the north. The sky was pink. Once I get onto a higher speed connection, I'll upload the pictures and you can see what I mean.

It's now 15 minutes past midnight. I'm tired. I guess having the cat decide I needed to get out of bed about an hour before I wanted to has something to do with that.

*yawn*

   Ugh... tired.

I'm tired all of a sudden. I don't know why. It's only 7:40 pm!

It's rather quiet for a Monday. I think it's because of the holiday on Wednesday.

So... that's about it. Oh, Hobby Lobby was nice and replaced my dry marker.

Oops. Forgot about the decaf! BRB

Back... I think I figured out why I'm tired now. The raspberry mocha frappuccino must've worn off.

   Somehow I survived the weekend.

It was a busy weekend at motel-hell. Friday night was really busy. I had a headache and was feeling pretty much crappy. Some wench decided to rip me a new one a couple times because things weren't perfect for her little softball team. I was almost to the point of walking out the front door and not looking back. That's the second or third time this month that the sales director has "promised" groups something that she's got no right to promise. One of the other girls that works the front desk thinks the sales director needs to work one of these weekends and see what we go through.

Saturday wasn't quite as busy. It still sucked that I had to work. I could have gone up to Grandview Park to see B.B. King! But no, I was stuck in the motel with a slightly psychotic coworker and a bitchy lifeguard. The big kicker about the B.B. King concert: IT WAS FREE!!!!!!! Every year on the weekend closest to the 4th of July, there's an all day long free concert up at Grandview park. There's lots of bands playing & one big headliner. One year it was Brian Setzer. And now the sad part... I've never been able to go to these concerts in all the years they've been going on!

Other sucky thing about the weekend.... I bought some Copic markers at Hobby Lobby the other day. I needed some brown markers because I want to do a picture that involves a brown-haired girl. Also because I didn't have any brown markers at all. Well, one of them is completely dry. I wasn't happy. I discovered that last night and have to wait until tomorrow to go back to the store to see if they'll replace it. I hope they do. I wouldn't be very happy if they don't replace it for me.

Well... that's about it for me. I suppose I should actually work on something constructive instead of playing on my computer. It's still too early for me to do anything actually related to work right now. Sunday nights are great.... really dead compared to Friday & Saturday.

23 days to go!!!!

Yes. That's the number I saw at Barnes & Noble today (thursday) until the new Harry Potter book comes out. I still have a little less than half of the third book to read, as well as the fourth, fifth & sixth ones, before then! Wish me luck!!!

*^*^*^*^*

Well, I solved the tire issue today. I called Wal-mart Automotive and spoke to the manager. He seemed to be aware that the Douglas tires weren't any good and said they'd replace the tires at a cost pro-rated against the wear of the old ones. That was acceptible to me only if they'd upgrade me to a brand of tire that I know is good. They did that, too. So, it ended up the guy that replaced the tires couldn't judge how much to pro-rate because he had to do it based on the amount of tread left on the old ones. Well, there was NO tread left. They ended up giving me half off each of the new tires. It the long run, I basically got a tire for free. However, I probably won't be going back to Wal-mart for tires.

The fun thing is, while waiting for the tires to be done, I was wandering into the electronics section and was about to look at cell phones out of curiosity when someone behind me said, "You don't want that!" I turned around and it was one of the guys that I go to for oil changes sometimes. He works part time in the games department at Wal-mart or something like that as well as owning his own auto service business. So I talked with him about cell phones and video games for a while. Oh yeah, and Harry Potter books.

After Wal-mart, I went to the Pizza Hut across the street for lunch. I was really really hungry by the time I got to Wal-mart in the first place! Then I went to Hobby Lobby and got myself a few more Copic markers. I now have a darker flesh tone and a couple shades of brown! (Yay!) After that, it was off to the mall to see if my book was in at B&N. I also looked for a comic book and some manga. None of what I was looking for was in yet, but my special order book was. I've got yet another Japanese language type book. Whee! Then to Target for a new bath mat (exciting!) and other stuff. Then home to do the laundry.

I bet you thought I forgot to do laundry on a Thursday, didn't you? Hahaha!!!!

*^*^*^*^*

Well, now I must go and find something interesting to do. Either that, or go to bed. Anyhoo... I have to work all weekend. It's a busy weekend. Fortunately, I have someone that has half a clue to work with on Friday. But Saturday is going to be pure HELL! We're overbooked and I have to work with the psycho by myself. I am not happy about it at all. And on top of that, the guy that's supposed to come in at 11:00 on Friday and Saturday nights thinks it's hilarious to come in late. I think he's a complete and total IDIOT! I have absolutely no respect for him whatsoever.

Anyhoo... I'm off now. If I don't update for a few days, you'll know why!

   The Pizza Man Cometh....

Too bad I already had chicken!

So... how's everyone today? I'm all right. A bit pissed off that I need to get new tires on my car. Word of advice: DON'T get Douglas Tires at Walmart. They're crap! I've had them just over a year and they're completely bald. I'm debating whether to go back to them and complain and tell them to put new tires on my car and not to give me the crappy ones or just to go somewhere else and leave the horrible beast known as Walmart alone. My other options are Sears (which I hate almost as much as Walmart), Squaretire, or local places. I need to find somewhere that won't charge me more than half my paycheck! Wish me luck.

I got tomorrow off, so I think I will be doing some serious tire shopping then. Whee.
