   Finally!

It took me just over three hours, but I just finished getting my story up to date on the fiction site! Now I just need to get the rest of the site finished up. Such a sense of accomplishment!

Well, in response to comments from the last post: I tend to use "arse" instead of "ass" when referring to one's backside. "Ass" is usually used to describe a person. It's not only Australian, but British as well. One of my all time favorite movies has the word used in a particularly delightful scene. If you've ever seen the horse race scene from My Fair Lady, you'll know that "arse" is quite British.

So... the time is now 12:42 am. I may go to bed soon.

   I am so amazing!

Well, I just posted four more chapters on my fiction site! Wow! I'm impressed. If I keep at it, I'll have the thing completely up to date by the end of the week! After that, I just have to get my arse in gear on the rest of my website!

Work Tuesday night was pretty boring. The little psycho babbled nonstop as usual, and I had to bite my tongue to keep from telling him to just be quiet for a while. I've come to the conclusion that he talks on end just to hear his own voice.

Well, it's now about 1:30 in the morning. I should go to bed. Yeah. I think that's what I'm going to do now.

Time for something... maybe bed.

However, I had a lot of iced tea earlier this evening, so I may be a bit wired right now. The other excitment of the day was burning popcorn in the microwave. Nasty!

Ummm. I suppose I could do something more on my fiction site tonight, but the show I'm watching on TV has caught my attention.

Well, I'm at work again. The little psycho is reading the paper and commenting on it as usual. We just had a discussion about the show Little House on the Prairie. He watches it every day. O_o. I was into the show when it was originally aired... over thirty years ago! I've never even read the books. My mom wouldn't let me. I don't quite know why. Maybe she thought they were beneath me. Oh well, I no longer have any interest in them.

Last night was fairly nuts around here. I didn't have a lot of check-ins, but I had to field a lot of complaints. That wasn't fun at all. I'm actually glad of the fact that it's Sunday and it's really quiet right now. Tomorrow is going to be busy. We have a tour group coming through. Hopefully keys will be made up for me by the time I get here.

Now, all I have left to do right now is wait for my food. My stomach's been growling since about 4:30. *sigh*

Well, time to do something else. Maybe work at the fiction site. I've not been there for about a week.

   blrrrrrrglll!

Well, I see you all missed me. I haven't posted since Tuesday and I didn't even get any comments on that one! *sigh*

Anyhoo... here's a quick recap of the past few days.

Wednesday: work. What else? Was pretty busy driving the van for a change.
Thursday: day off! My brother & I went to Omaha and surprised my sister at work for lunch. We were even surprised as it was Take Your Kid to Work Day, so my nephew was there, too. He's thirteen and taller than me!!!! Yeeek!
Friday: day off! My brother & I went to SUX for a little while.
Saturday: today. Work. Busy with lots of complaints. Someone didn't do something last night and I ended up looking bad because of it. I want to strangle someone for that.

So... here I am. It's just after 7:00 pm and I'm making my dinner. *sigh* I'm halfway through my shift and wanted to go home three hours ago. Anyone have anything interesting for me to do now?

   MUD!

I don't have pictures or anything (yet), but there was a mudslide here in SUX! I was on my way to work and could see the traffic on the interstate was not moving in the northbound lanes at all. Lots of cop cars and such were visible, too. I thought there was an accident. Turns out there was a mudslide just up the road from work! Someone said there was actually two of them. They also said there was something like 5 feet of mud across the northbound lanes and 15 feet on the railroad tracks next to the interstate. YOW!

Well, it's Tuesday night. I'm at work. Whee. Blueberry yogurt is yummy. That's about it from this one.

   All good things gotta come to an end...

And that means that in about 14 hours and 37 minutes, I'll be back at work. *sigh*

Saturday night was pure HELL. That's the best way to put it. It was a busy weekend at the motel and I was scheduled to work with the psycho as usual. Friday night, at least, a second desk person was called in and I was able to cope. Saturday night, no such luck. I had to put up with the little psycho all by myself all night. We had a full house again and there was a wedding reception in the back. The worst part about the reception was the handful of small girls with high, shrill voices screaming at each other in the hallway. I was sure my ears were going to start bleeding by the end of the night. I did end up with a headache by the time I left. It didn't help having the little psycho piss and moan about everything and then get defiant on me when I asked him to move out of my way so I could do the deposit. He likes to read the newspaper and sit in front of the cash drawer while doing that. I needed to get into the drawer so I could do the deposits. I asked him to move a couple times and he got smart-mouthed with me. One time he said, "Make me." I gave him a shove and almost pushed him off the stool and said, "Don't challenge me, little man." He started to laugh at me and I finally said, "Dammit, ####, move your ass!" Then he decided he had to sit in front of the one computer that I needed to use to run reports. I finally told him to go lean on the counter in the backroom so he'd be out of the way so I could get the deposits done. If he makes any noise about me shoving him to the manager, I'm going to tell her that I asked him nicely twice to move away from the cash drawer and he got smart-mouthed with me. I did have a bit of a rant in a note to her because a busy weekend with him got to me. This man would try the patience of Buddha himself! So now you know why I'm reluctant to return to work on Monday.

Sunday, however, was a good day. I didn't have to work. It was so weird. My brother & I went to SUX to do the stuff we usually do on Saturdays. One extra special thing we did was hit the public library book sale! I found some real treasures! As you may know, one of my hobbies is trying to learn Japanese. We were nosing around the foreign language table and came across a few books in Japanese. One was a travel guide for the US, Canada and Hawaii. I passed it up, but I do wonder why Hawaii was listed separately. Maybe it was published before it became a state. Anyhoo... I digress. The true treasures were the two books that are almost 70 years old. I found a year in one of them, and it was Showa 12, which is 1938. It's really hard to tell what that book is. It has no pictures aside from an assortment of mathematical graphs and technical drawings. It may be a textbook of some sort. There was also a postcard and what could possibly be a report card inside the front cover. I'll have to scan those in and see if I can start to decipher them. The other book appears to be a penmanship book. There's pictures of various kanji and how to write them. I spotted the year Showa 12 on a label inside the back cover on it, so it's from around 1938, too. That one also has an inscription written in the back saying where it was found and the person it was given to as a Christmas present in 1944. Both books have a stamp inside the front cover saying they've passed inspection in the field by Joint Intelligence. I'm thinking of scanning in the penmanship book. It's so cool!

Well, this sure turned into a long post. Sorry for the rant about Friday & Saturday. I just had to vent. I hope everyone has a good week.

   I'd rather be sleeping.

Just a quick Saturday afternoon post to let you know I'm still alive. I have to work tonight. Poop. It's gonna be busy and I'm stuck with the little psycho again. Luckily last night, the manager said to call in someone to work from 5 to 9 with me. That made a huge difference. It was nice to have someone that had a clue working with me!

Well, I think I'm gonna finish off the email now. I've got an hour before I gotta get ready for work. I'm not looking forward to it at all.

   *Insert Maniacal Laughter Here*

Yes, some progress has been made! I don't know if you paid attention or not as the page was loading... but... the little picture of Sam & Hikaru up above is an active link again! I finally made some headway on un-screwing up that fiction site. I have only 10 chapters posted, but it's 10 more than was there a couple days ago.

So, feel free to wander around the site. You'll find I added the link to the profile stuff on the left. I will warn you now, you will find lots of links that don't lead anywhere.... yet. I just haven't had a chance to do some serious work on anything until this past week or so.

I don't know how much, if any, progress will be made on the site in the next couple days. I have to work Friday & Saturday nights. With the psycho. And it's a busy weekend. *sigh*

Oh, yeah. My Thursday was spent doing the usual: laundry. And the unusual: working on a small portion of my site.

Now it's 1:30 in the morning. I'm gonna go to bed!

   Meh....

Well, my night at work was fairly boring. I swear it was never going to end. Dull, dull, dull. I had a hard time keeping from telling off the little psycho. He did nothing but piss and moan as usual. By now, I don't even remember what all he was complaining about. I tend to ignore him, but sometimes it isn't that easy. He just goes on and on.

Anyhoo... I have to work with him on a busy weekend. {sarcasm} Yay! {/sarcasm} I swear I will bend him in half and stuff him in a box one of these days.

Otherwise, nothing exciting is going on with me right now. I wish I could say different, but I'm back to the same old grind and the same old cranky mood that I was in before I went on vacation. I really need to get out of that place.
