   Frozen Pop Tarts!

Mmm... Mint Chocolate Chip flavored Pop Tarts taste kinda like ice cream when frozen.

*^*^*^*^*

Well, Thursday is coming to a close. I didn't do anything worthwhile today. Just laundry. I seem to do that a lot... Raging domesticity...

*^*^*^*^*

I found this quiz on someone else's site. Can't remember whose it was now. I was sorta hoping for Kakashi... *sigh*

Quiz Result Provided By: theOtaku.com.

Additional: I forgot to mention I bought some water-soluble pencils the other day. I did a little experimentation with them while watching my Batman Beyond DVD. The result is up in my fanart section.

   Finally.

Well, I finished up the last of three nights in a row with the little psycho at work! Yay! I told April I was going to tie her to a chair so she couldn't leave at 3 when I got there. She laughed and walked away from me. :( But I work with her Wednesday night. :)

*^*^*^*^*

I found my writing books from the year 2003 and went through them looking for anything that could be posted in various places. I found a bunch of stuff that's really different there. I may post them over in DeviantArt as poetry.

I used to say how horrible a poet I am. I think I am my harshest critic when it comes to poetry. I also think that I had to stick to a certain form, voice, pattern, rhythm, whatever, when writing poetry. I've since discovered that the only strict form of poetry that I will follow is haiku or tanka. Otherwise, free verse seems to be my forte.

If you want to check out my poetry, please feel free to check me out over on DeviantArt. My name there is CrazyFoxMoon. Just be warned, the scary 80s Flashback picture is there!

*^*^*^*^*

It's about 12:43 am. I am listening to some program on the History Channel about global warming or something. I really don't know what it is. I turned to it in the middle of the show. I should go upstairs and watch some more FMA.

   Mood: mildly hyper!

Okay... I said I'd be back to explain why I haven't been around the past few days, and here I am!

I've been working!!! I'm in the middle of seven days in a row of work. I really hate it!! April is on vacation, so I had to do seven days in a row! Thursday night I worked with the guy that actually knows how to do stuff to check people in. He can be rather slow to process stuff, but at least he knows what he's doing! Friday and Saturday nights I had to work with the airhead! She giggles at everything!!!! But, again, she knows what she is doing, so it's not as aggravating as it could be. Sunday & Monday nights, I worked with the psychotic little man. He doesn't know how to do anything except for drive the van and cart towels around, so it gets to be very aggravating. And on top of that, he's got to be the most irritating individual I've had to work with! I have one more night of working with him and then I work one more night after that with April again. Then two days off! If April wants to switch Thursday night, I'm going to have to say "NO!!!!!" because that would mean one more night with the little psycho.

One other thing about Friday and Saturday nights... we had three wedding blocks (two of them had their receptions at the hotel - one each night), Navy Reserve guys, a sorority group, and several bikers on their way back from Sturgis to where-ever they came from in the first place. It was just mildy insane.

One of the other girls that works there was making noises about having to work 9 days in a row. When I told her I had to work with the airhead 2 nights and the little psycho 3 nights in a row, she said I won! *giggle* She agrees that any time with the little psycho is sheer torture.

*^*^*^*^*

Well... I was naughty the other day and got the 3rd DVD of FullMetal Alchemist. I haven't watched it yet. I was even more naughty today and got the CD of music from FMA. I listened to it on the way home from work and it rocks!!! There's a DVD in it of something. I gotta watch that...

Well, that's about it for now. I gotta go finish entering codes for points from Coke! Whee!!! Maybe I'll have enough points to get something I actually want.

This subject line is shorter than my post....maybe.

Well, it's Monday night. I'm at work. I've been having fun. *falls off stool in fits of hysterical laughter* I will be back after work tonight when I get home around midnight and post about the past couple days and why I haven't been here. That okay with you? I hope so, because that's what I'm gonna do!

   Bonus Nachos!

It's now early Friday morning. My cat is winking at me.... O_o

Work Thursday night sucked. The skank is STILL there!!!! And she's still a bitch! I hope she's not there tomorrow night. We don't need her with a rather large wedding party in the hotel at the same time!

It's gonna be a madhouse in there all weekend. I'm so very very glad the schedule got changed and I'm on 4 to midnight instead of 3 to 11 Friday night. I don't want to be the one "in charge" with that many people! I get to be the driver! Yay!!!

I didn't draw last night!!! I got involved in reading Bleach! Bad Kitsune! Not drawing when she said she would!!! I must punish myself... That's it... I have to go to bed barefoot tonight!

Well, off to finish up email and maybe work at the site some more. The site is not a club site. It's just a site that deals with stuff I like, had insights into how oddly my mind really works, some fiction, maybe some photography. Someone asked about it in a comment on yesterday's post, but I can't remember who it was....

Hmm...oh well.

Another day.... another 4 loads of laundry...

Well, Wednesday is coming to a close and it was pretty dull. I did four loads of laundry as it says in the subject line. Yippee....

I worked a bit more at my website. I actually have finished a couple parts of it. Woohoo!! However, the parts I've got finished are not the parts where the fiction pages are. I did the "splash" page and the "welcome" page. They were easy to do. Now I'm taking on the "gateway" page. It's a bit more complex. I made a few buttons for it, but have to com up with a few more. Hang on... *checks list on page laying nearby* I have three done and need to do five more! Hmm.... maybe I should do that instead of messing about online.

Hmm....well, I think I'm gonna go do something completely different... I'm gonna go draw! Whee!!!

   Grrrrr!!!! Rant zone!!!

I totally lost my cool with a guest at work Tuesday night! She deserved it! She was a skank that shouldn't have been there in the first place and was being generally rude and bitchy to everyone there. If she complains to the manager about the way April & I treated her, it will get her nowhere. The manager was already having problems with her when I got to work at 4:00! I bet that she gets banned from staying there again! Hell, I HOPE she gets banned.

I was waiting for her to ask the question: "Do you think you're better than me?" I would have an answer for her: "Well, let's see. I'm college educated. I don't have to sell myself for cash. I won't die of some disease that's too horrible to even think about. I won't die of a drug overdose. I guess the answer to that is 'Yes!'"

I very seldom lose my temper with people at the motel no matter how stupid or rude they are, but when she started in my face like that, I just dropped the nice facade and let the biting sarcasm loose.

*^*^*^*^*^*

Other than that excitement, work was pretty boring. My whole Tuesday was pretty dull. I started to do some "mindmapping" of my site. I wanted to work on it while at work, but my computer was here at home and I couldn't get at the pictures and stuff.

*^*^*^*^*^*

So, now it's 1:15 in the morning of Wednesday. I'm listening to music on my computer, typing this and trying to figure out what to do next. I have a picture stuck in my head trying to get out, but I'm not sure if I'm truly in the mood to draw right now. I gotta do a little research on it before it sees the light of day. So, hopefully in the next couple of days there will be something new for you all to look at.

I think I'm gonna go work at something half-heartedly. Not sure what yet. Maybe sleep... but I'd be working at that whole-heartedly.

   Set phasers on annihilate!

Not really. Just felt like saying that.

Monday night was kinda boring at work for a Monday. April & I had fun, but we were both slightly bored by it all. It wasn't very busy and that confused me.

*^*^*^*^*

To answer a couple questions about yesterday's post....

MammaVash: I have dang near the entire state of South Dakota between me and Sturgis, but we still get the bikers on their way across. I worked 2.5 summers in the Black Hills and Rapid City, so I've been out there during the thick of things. Even got up there during the week one time. Really amazing seeing that many motorcycles at one time in one place!

mewmewichigo & Vankala86: Dreamweaver is a web design program from Macromedia. Lots of fun to play around with. I like to use it to make tables because I'm too lazy to try to do them through pure HTML coding.

*^*^*^*^*

Speaking of Dreamweaver, I think I may do a little bit of work on the fiction site here. I just added another chapter down below, so I gotta add a line to a table. I still smack myself for getting messed up on the site somewhere along the line! Now I have a metric ass-ton of work to do to get it all straightened out. Whee....

So, for those that enjoy the story, go and read. For those that don't, don't! Hahahaha!!!!

Plans and Plots

It was an unusually hot June afternoon in Tokyo. Just outside the village on the Smoking Hill, an old woman sat in the shade, watching the play of light through the leaves. She had gone there, away from the village, to meet with someone.

The man stepped out from behind a tree. “Have you been waiting long, Rin?” he asked.

Rin looked up and smiled. “Not long at all, Tôshi. It's nice to see you again. How long has it been?”

Tôshi walked over to Rin and sat next to her in the shade. He was a handsome man with eyes of brilliant green and hair the same emerald color. His smile for Rin was genuinely warm. He took one of her hands in his own and kissed her on the cheek. “Too long, my dear,” he said. “You're as beautiful as ever.”

“And you're the same as always. Never changing. You're still the handsome young man I met all those years ago.” Rin squeezed his hand. “And still the flatterer.”

Tôshi laughed. “Of course I am. Now, what is this important news you have to tell me?”

“It's about our daughter.”

“What of Shizuyo? She ran off with that human against your wishes, against mine, and against his own family's. She's dead to me.” His words were cold and stung Rin's heart.

“I know,” Rin said quietly. “But she is still our daughter. The stars have brought me news.”

“Ah, yes, the stars talk to you. What did they say this time?” There was perhaps the slightest tone of mockery to his voice, but Rin paid it no mind.

Rin looked up at the sky. “They had a child.”

Tôshi furrowed his brow in confusion. “The stars?”

Rin laughed. “Not the stars, silly. Shizuyo and the human. They had a son.”

“Ah, I see. A son. Why have you told me this?”

“He needs to learn of his heritage. He needs to learn control.”

Tôshi scowled. “Why tell me? I thought by now you'd know how I feel about family... and humans. I want nothing to do with this.”

Rin looked at her hand. Despite his harsh words, Tôshi still had hold of it. “I know. Sometimes I think if you had stayed, Shizuyo would not have run off. She's much like you, but...”

“But what?” Tôshi sighed. He hated to admit it, but he was never able to resist Rin's charms. She could always get him to do what she wanted.

“The stars told me the boy is like you as well. He's going to need your guidance. For his own sake, as well as those he loves.”

Tôshi sighed again. “All right,” he said. “What do you want me to do?”

“I need you to talk to his human grandfather. You're able to blend in with the humans. Ask him to bring the boy here to the house at the bottom of the hill. Then I can teach him.”

“Very well,” Tôshi growled. “I will ask him. I will have the whelp brought to you.” He stood up to leave.

Rin stood up and caught his arm. “Thank you, my darling,” she said and kissed him. “Until we meet again.”

Tôshi smiled and said, “The centuries have been kind to you, my love. Your beauty only grows with time. You will be most radiant before long. Good bye.”

Rin watched Tôshi as he disappeared into the forest. The villagers would be wondering about her, and she knew she had to get back. With a sad smile she turned back to the village, pausing only to look over her shoulder to where she last saw Tôshi. “Flatterer,” she said half aloud, and continued home to the village.

Nakamura didn't want to be where he was that night, but due to his position in the government, he had to be at that party. He stood off to one side watching his wife make her rounds with the other wives. He sighed and took a sip of champagne, thoughts turning to the letter he had sent to Hikaru. He wondered why he hadn't received any reply.

“Nakamura-san?” someone said.

Nakamura turned and saw that it was one of the men from his office. “Yes, Sadojima-san? Is there something you need?”

Sadojima said, “Well, not really. I was just wondering if you were as bored as I am. I really hate these parties.”

Nakmura chuckled. “I'm here only because my wife insisted that I come. I have to deal with these pelpe every day. I would just like to enjoy my evenings at home with a good book.”

“I agree. Ah, no, I see our wives have found each other. Now let's guess which of us they're talking about.” Sadojima grabbed another glass of champagne from a passing waiter.

Nakamura watched the women and frowned. “My guess is they're talking about me. I just saw my wife glance over at me and start laughing.”

“Bad luck, old man,” Sadojima said with a smile. “So, how was your trip to Kamakura? Did you speak with your son?”

Nakamura took another sip of champagne before answering. “I hate champagne,” he started. “No, unfortunately I wasn't able to speak with him. He was killed in the Seinan War before I had a chance.”

“Killed? How awful,” Sadojima said. “I apologize if I offended you, Nakamura-san.”

Nakamura smiled sadly. “Don't worry about it. I've done my mourning. I may have had an idea that I wouldn't see him when I went there.”

Sadojima didn't quite know what to say to that, so he watched people mingle for a bit before continuing. “Did he have any family?”

“Yes,” Nakamura said, and let it go at that, hoping Sadojima would not press the issue. No such luck.

“Really? That's wonderful! Did you meet them?”

Nakamura was beginning to get irritated. He would have said something about it, but Sadojima worked directly with the head of the department and therefore outranked him. “I didn't have a chance. I arrived there in time for the funeral, and was unable to speak to them.”

Sadojima shook his head. “Such a shame. You should go back now and meet them. No, on second thought, bring them here. Show them Tokyo. You have that beautiful estate. I'm sure they'd be impressed by that.”

“Perhaps,” was all Nakamura said. Sadojima continued about the wonders of Tokyo, but Nakamura paid it no mind. Sadojima was a little on the drunk side and had a tendency to talk on end in such a state.

Nakamura was trying to figure out some excuse to get away from Sadojima when a man he did not know approached him.

“Excuse me, you are Nakamura Takeshi-san?” the man asked. He was a tall man, dressed simply in the Western style. He had approached quietly with eyes downcast, yet something about his bearing made Nakamura uncomfortable.

“Yes, I am Nakamura. How can I help you?”

“I need to speak with you. In private.” The man then looked Nakamura in the eye.

Nakamura was surprised by the man's eyes. They were a brilliant green, appearing as if lit by fire. “Of course,” he said. He turned to excuse himself from Sadojima, but found his coworker had already found someone else to bother.

The man smirked as he watched Nakamura. “It is about your grandson,” he said.

That gained Nakamura's full attention. “What about my grandson?” he asked, concerned about what this mysterious man had in mind.

“Bring him to this city.”

“I beg your pardon.”

“The grandson. Bring him here to this city. Rin will educate him. This is not a request.” He turned and walked away.

It took a moment for Nakamura to fully comprehend what he just heard. “Excuse me,” he said. “Who are you? What do you mean it's not a request?”

“Takeshi, who are you talking to?”

Nakamura turned to see his wife standing behind him. “Ah, Michiko,” he said. “I don't know who that was, but...”

“There's something else?”

“Not here. I don't wish to discuss it here. Let us go home now. I'm becoming tired.”

Michiko looked up at her husband and could see the strain on his face. “Of course, I wil say our farewells to our hosts and meet you at the carriage.”

The ride back to the mansion was spent in silence. Michiko knew not to ask Nakamura about the man at the party until they were home. Once at the mansion, she could no longer hold back her curiosity. “Takeshi, who was that man? What did he want?”

Nakamura sighed and rubbed his eyes. “I don't know who he was,” he said, “but his business I do know. It seemed a veiled threat.”

“A threat? You must tell someone at the office about this.”

“No, I cannot. The threat was behind a... request. A request to bring someone to Tokyo. To the family estate.”

“Bring someone? Who?”

“Our grandson. He said I need to take Hikaru to the estate. But I agreed to let the boy make the first move.”

“But the threat?”

“I don't know. He didn't say what whould happen if Hikaru doesn't go there.”

Michiko seized on this opportunity to make a suggestion to her husband. “Takeshi, you're the head of the family. Our son is dead, and the woman ran off years ago. All that is left is our grandson. Send a carriage to Kamakura and bring him here. It's only right that Hikaru is here with us. He is family.”

Nakamura said nothing, but went upstairs to bed. He would think more about it in the morning when his head was clear. Too many thoughts were swirling around in his brain.

Michiko was upset by her husband's lack of action and took it upon herself to get her grandson to Tokyo. She would see to it that the boy was brought there by any means possible. And Nakamura knew nothing of her plans until the day it all came together.
