Mood: bored.
Thursday night. 11:05 pm. I'm bored. Seriously.
My excitement today was as follows:
1. Walked downtown in the icky noonday heat.
2. Did laundry.
3. Got a little bit of the shakes when I didn't eat lunch until about 2:30 or 3:00.
4. Went to Pizza Hut for dinner with my brother at 5:00.
5. Goofed around a little bit with my brother after dinner until he got tired and went to take a nap.
6. Followed the cat around the house for 20 minutes as she barfed a lot.
7. Watched a TV show about earthquakes.
8. Got bored with TV and turned it off.
9. Turned on laptop & then went upstairs to the other computer to scan stuff.
10. Played around on internet for a while.
11. Downloaded a program.
12. Had laptop freeze up and need to be restarted.
13. Had boredom set in.
14. .....
I should do something constructive. Like maybe see if I can figure out the program I downloaded. Yeah. That sounds like a plan.

Mood: Huh?
Thursday afternoon...12:35 pm...
Laundry is happily chugging along in the other room. I'm in the dining room trying to convince myself it's not as hot as I think it is. I'm not doing a good job of convincing myself. Yep. Another round of hot & humid weather is upon us here on the Edge of Sanity.
*^*^*^*^*
I told myself yesterday that I wouldn't go into town early for work again. That didn't work either. I found a book on the online catalog for the SUX library and had it reserved. So I had to go get it. I went in for one book... came out of the library with seven. D'oh! >.<
One of them is the third book for that trilogy I'm reading. I won't get to it right away, 'cause I just started the second one yesterday. I was a little upset that I couldn't read more of it yesterday at work. I didn't have very many van runs and for those that I did have, most of the guys didn't want to stop at the grocery store or anything. *sigh*
*^*^*^*^*
One of the radio stations in SUX has changed over to the format known as Bob FM. Their catch phrase is that they "play anything." I listen to it in the van at work because it's about the only station that I can tolerate out of SUX. Two years in the Omaha area really made me realize there's better music out there than I thought. Anyhoo... the more I listen to Bob, the more I'm convinced the program manager is on drugs or something. For instance, here are two lists of songs from last night. Tell me, do these songs even go together?
List 1...
1. Meat Loaf - Paradise By the Dashboard Lights
2. the Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
3. Van Halen - I'll Wait
4. Earth, Wind & Fire - Shining Star
List 2...
1. Ricky Martin - Livin' La Vida Loca
2. Green Day - Holiday
3. Avril Lavigne - I'm With You
I think the Ricky Martin to Green Day transition really put a dent into my brain cell.
Well, time to fling laundry about. I'll be back tonight to visit sites! Woohoo!

Mood: Distracted...
Damn. This book is good. Hang on while I finish it....
*reads to the end of the book*
*sniff sniff* No!!! He can't go away! He's got to marry the girl!!!!!! *wipes tears away*
I'm sure glad I found the next book in the trilogy at Barnes & Noble today.
The book: Across the Nightingale Floor
The author: Lian Hearn
The setting: a fictional country that's an awful lot like Japan in the feudal era.
It's not often that a book can make me cry, but this one did. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes a good adventure with a little bit of romance thrown in. I said romance, not sex, so if you're looking for any of that, don't bother. It's hinted at, but not described.
Okay...I've stopped crying now.
*^*^*^*^*
Well, Tuesday night work was boring! That's about all I have to say about it. Dull, dull, dull! I don't know how I got through it.
Anyhoo... 'tis now 1:49 am and my eyes are now dry. Really dry. I guess the tears from the ending of my book came from whatever amount of tears I have to keep my eyes from drying out.
Did that make sense?
Oh, well, time to go to bed. *must resist picking up second book and reading it for a while before going upstairs to bed*
Catch you cats & kittens on the sunny side!

Mood: Argle bargle morble whoosh.
Tuesday, early afternoon. Once again, I must work tonight. Blah.
Last night wasn't so bad. It was busy, but I didn't feel like it was terribly busy. There's just so much crap going on behind the scenes there now, that I just smile and nod or shake my head as necessary. I'd go into detail about the latest bullshit, but won't.
*^*^*^*^*
I got a book about using computones for drawing manga yesterday. I have to take it back. *sigh* There's a disk in it and I don't have the right software to go with the disk. That's the story of my life... wrong software. *sigh* I didn't open the disk, so they should take it back and let me exchange the book for something I can actually use. I hope.
Well, I'm gonna go find lunch now and read email. Whee.

Mood: vaporous
It's Sunday for another 23 minutes. I'm slightly spacey right now. I didn't do anything of any importance today. Yay me. Now I'm mildly bored.
I don't wanna go to work tomorrow. It's gonna be busy and the girl I'll be working with, has found another job and will be of the mind to do even less than she usually does and then complain about doing everything. *sigh*
I just had my mind go even more blank... I think that stupid commercial on TV just sucked it away.
Well... that's about all for now. I think I'll go make more buttons or something.

Mood: Up to no good
Hey all. I didn't get on the computer at all yesterday. Well, I should clarify that... I didn't get on my computer at all yesterday. It felt so good to ignore the thing!
Let's see... Friday: I didn't have to work. My brother and I went to SUX for a little while. Didn't go to a movie or anything. Just went to Wal-Mart, where my sister works and saw her as she was just leaving at the end of her shift. Yay! Then we went to the motel 'cause my brother wanted to talk to the manager about something. Then to Culver's for hamburgers. Yummy!!! Then to Target for stuff. And then home. Pretty laid back day.
Saturday: Ignored the computer for the most part. Worked.
Today: Don't have to work. Don't know what I'm gonna do beyond posting and reading email and watching The Dead Zone later. I'll probably be back on this thing at some point tonight to visit and maybe make another button or two. Whee?

In some secluded rendevouz....
My Thursday was chock full of excitement as usual. I slept until almost 11:30! I did laundry! Good lord, I lead such an exciting life.
*^*^*^*^*
Well, it wasn't quite as hot today. Hooray! It cooled off to temperatures in the 80s. That sounds so weird....
*^*^*^*^*
The thrilling things I did while waiting for laundry are the two things below this post box thing. Cool... I used the word "thing" three times in one sentence! Anyhoo... I have been playing around with Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver. I built that table in yesterday's post with Dreamweaver. It's a lot easier making tables that way!!!
So... it's midnight. Time for me to turn back into something. I just don't know what.

There are some truly insane people out there!
Wednesday was hot. Incredibly hot. It was 105 degrees Fahrenheit at 2:30 in the afternoon in our backyard. In the shade in our backyard. On the north side of our house, so the thermometer was not in the sun at all.
Here's a little table of how the temperatures and heat index went during the day starting at 2 a.m.:

It was so hot, that poor little Onigiri almost overheated three times on the way to work!!!
As for the truly insane people.... There were three of them.
- The little old man wearing the sweater vest.
- The lady that asked if the sauna was working.
- The lady that asked if the hot tub was working.
Well, that about sums it up. I've been playing with HTML for this post. Had to actually go to Dreamweaver to make that table quickly. Hopefully it will look all right once I hit that magic "Add Post" button.
It's now about 2:30 am. I should seriously think about going to bed. I'll be back later in the day to read posts and comment as I see fit. I have Thursday and Friday off!!! Woohoo!!!

Why did I do that?
It's ten minutes to two in the morning. I just started up a Rammstein CD. I should be thinking about going to bed!
*^*^*^*^*
Well, Tuesday night at work went all right. I was the driver! Yay!! I didn't have to work with the psychotic little man! Woohoo!!! Nothing terribly exciting happened at all. Lots of people checked in. Only one run to the railyard. Hmmm...now that I think about it, I had to do runs to all of the major modes of transportation. Took two railroaders to the railyard and a trucker to the bus station. Picked up a group of four at the airport and a group of two boaters at the marina. Cool.
*^*^*^*^*
Well, I think I may go to bed here. I'm all fat and happy after eating a root beer float once I got home from work. *Buurrrrrrrrp!!!!!* 'scuse me. *giggle*

*singing* I wanna shoot the whole day down...
Here's some lyrics to sum up how I feel about a certain day of the week...
The silicon chip inside her head
Gets switched to overload.
And nobody's gonna go to school today,
She's going to make them stay at home.
And daddy doesn't understand it,
He always said she was as good as gold.
And he can see no reason
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to be shown?
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
I want to shoot
The whole day down.
The telex machine is kept so clean
As it types to a waiting world.
And mother feels so shocked,
Father's world is rocked,
And their thoughts turn to
Their own little girl.
Sweet 16 ain't so peachy keen,
No, it ain't so neat to admit defeat.
They can see no reasons
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to be shown?
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
I want to shoot
The whole day down.
All the playing's stopped in the playground now
She wants to play with her toys a while.
And school's out early and soon we'll be learning
And the lesson today is how to die.
And then the bullhorn crackles,
And the captain crackles,
With the problems and the how's and why's.
And he can see no reasons
'Cause there are no reasons
What reason do you need to die?
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
Tell me why?
I don't like Mondays.
I want to shoot
The whole day down.
*^*^*^*^*
Yep, I Don't Like Mondays by the Boomtown Rats. Good song. Sad story behind it, though.
*^*^*^*^*
Well, it was busy Monday night. Duh! I had the driver go get me Chinese food for dinner. I got an eggroll and fried wonton. It took about 45 minutes to eat that eggroll and one of the eight wonton. That's how busy it was. So... now I have 7 wonton in the fridge here and there's nothing nastier than cold fried wonton. I'll try reheating them for lunch tomorrow...today... Tuesday.
Now it's time for Cheetos! Yay.
Actually, it should be time for bed, but I'm hungry!!! All I had for meals Monday was a bowl of cereal for breakfast, a bagel with raspberry cream cheese for lunch and one eggroll & fried wonton for supper. I'm hungry!!!!!
