Nothin' goin' on....
The mood: bored, tired
The temperature: toasty
The action: nothing at all
So, in light of there not being much going on, I thought I'd entertain you with kitty pictures. This is my fat cat as I saw her early this afternoon. This is a cat that knows how to sleep!
So... before my computer overheats because of a lack of A/C in the lobby here, I may just wander away. But not before the download is finished...

Rest Areas got Wireless!!!!
Yes, you read that right. Rest Areas got wireless internet connections. Well, the ones on Interstate 29 between Sioux City and Council Bluffs do. I find that slightly odd.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, I had to go to Omaha again today for an interview. It went all right, considering the interviewer & I were completely honest with each other. They're looking for someone with the magical "3 to 5 years experience" and he was concerned that I don't have that. I was honest and said that I'm lacking that magical length of time and asked how I'm supposed to get it. He laughed and agreed with me. He was really nice and sent me over to another part of the company to apply for a different position. I really don't know about the other position: Data Entry. It's not exactly what I want to do with myself, of course, but it would be a forty hour a week job, on Monday through Friday, and pays a little more than what I'm getting now at the motel. I really have to think on this one.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, after driving all over the place in Omaha, I'm kinda pooped. By the time I got home, I put over 250 miles on the Onigiri today! Sheesh! He's not gonna want to go anywhere for a while, but I have to work 6 days in a row starting tomorrow!
*^*^*^*^*^*
Let's see... was there anything interesting that I saw in Omaha today? Not really. Lots of construction as usual! There was a guy in a little front-loader thingy abusing traffic cones in a parking lot. I was going to go out and yell at him to be nice to the traffic cones, but didn't because he was actually moving them out of the way so he could work on the area they were blocking off.
So... time to go visit a few sites and maybe go to bed and read or draw or something.

Oy... what a day....
Well, yesterday didn't turn out quite like I expected. I went into Sioux City a bit early to hit the main branch of the library. However, I never made it to that branch of the library. As I was coming down 6th Street and got to the light at Jackson Street, I looked downhill and saw that the street was full of people down the way... The Hispanics were marching in protest of that proposed legislation... In the street next to the parking lot for the main branch of the library!!! Just because the federal building is across the street from the library. *rolls eyes*
So, I went to the motel, dropped off my work stuff and headed out to the Morningside branch of the library. It's small and had only one book that had anything I was interested in for that Egyptian cat. I did find a bunch of graphic novels that I ended up checking out and will be reading eventually.
I am going to try the main library again today. Wish me luck! I just have to eat lunch first.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Work wasn't too bad last night. With the march going on, there weren't any Mexican construction workers checking in. They probably were at the march. The surprising thing of the night was the fact that the one Mexican restaurant that the railroad guys love to go to was closed! So many of them were disappointed.
Then there was the one railroader that wanted to go to Perkins and it was closed for "quarterly maintenance." He then tried IHoP... which was also closed! He ended up at the 24 hour restaurant across the street from the hotel. It was rather amusing to see him frustrated like that.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, I think I better go find something to eat. I think I'll make a tuna salad to take for supper tonight.

Additional: Well, that tuna salad ended up being lunch, and I never made it to the library. Just ended up goofing around on the computer some more. Seriously considering submitting an old picture to the fanart. *considers it* Oh, heck. I have about 10 minutes before I gotta start getting ready for work. It's going up!

Sano says it all....
I apologize for not posting yesterday. I plumb forgot! That's all there is to it.
Not that anything exciting happened yesterday. I had to work and that was about it. That wasn't even exciting. You know it's not going to be very exciting when you pull into the parking lot and the only cars there are the employees' cars, the hotel van, and the white car that's been sitting there since October.
*^*^*^*^*^*
If you haven't seen the pictures from Omaha, please scroll down to the previous post and take a look. I wish I could share the sounds of the Old Market with you as well. The clip-clop of the horse carriage as it goes by... The musicians performing on the corners... The birds... People chatting away... It's all such a nice way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon.
*^*^*^*^*
I do find it interesting that the background color of that table down there came out green in Internet Explorer. If you are running Firefox, it should be grey, which is the color I chose. Ah, the joys of HTML between browsers.
Okay... enough geekery! I think I'm going to meander off now and finish reading my email. I want to hit the library in Sioux City before work today. I need to find a certain type of Egyptian cat for my sister.

Great! I buy you a wrench, and you try to kill me with it!
Here it is, Friday night. I didn't have to work and I don't have to work tomorrow night either! Woohoo!!! My brother and I went to Sioux City even though we had originally planned not to go. Thing is, Mom sent us money with the instructions to "spend it foolishly." So, he bought a game for his Gameboy and I bought a DVD. I got Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Woohoo!!! Johnny Depp!!!
*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Since I don't work tomorrow, and neither does my brother, we're going to go to Omaha. I'm not sure what we're going to do there, but it's supposed to be sorta nice out and we're gonna enjoy the day. Whee!!! Probably just hang out in the Old Market and look at used bookstores. I should take the camera along and take pictures of cool stuff down there.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Well... my brain cell just ceased functioning properly for posting purposes. In other words, I forgot what I was gonna say. So, I think I will wander off now and see what other stuff I can find to do.

I'm fine... how are yooooo-ooooou?
Oh, to hell with it. Elevator to transporter room. Beam me down from here, Snotty.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Well. Here it is, Thursday afternoon. Not quite 2:00. It's another gorgeous day out there. Temperature is in the 70s again. So nice... Ahhhhh.... *sits back with hands behind head and eyes closed....then gets out of that pose 'cause it's impossible to type that way*
I gotta work tonight. Bleah.... I hope it goes fast. I haven't worked a Thursday for a while. Hmm...
*^*^*^*^*^*
I went over to my sister's house last night to see the kittens. They're so cute!!! Tiny little black & white kittens. I gotta get over there with the camera so I can show them to you. I wish I could have one of them, but we've got the fatcat already. She's so spoiled, she wouldn't take to having another body in the house.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, I suppose I should start to think about getting ready for work. We're supposed to have thunderstorms tonight. So, if I don't get to sites, you'll know I avoided the internet because of storms.

A good day for sunglasses...
Wednesday afternoon. The temperature is 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Why the heck am I sitting around inside playing on the computer?!?!?!!?!?
Well, it's Wednesday. It's Laundry Day. Bleargh. As soon as the current load in the washer is done, I'm walking downtown! Can't leave the washer unattended because it goes out of balance so easily... like right now. *growl*
*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Okay...I'm back. Like I said, I'm gonna walk downtown after this load is through. Yes, the truly exciting one block walk to the Post Office in that exhilarating picture of Main Street that I posted yesterday.! I just wish I could find some change so I can buy a can of Coke... @_@ *swirley eyed from lack of caffeine*
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
My sister's cat had kittens! I haven't seen them yet, but she says they're all black & white. They were born Tuesday night. She's gotta work tonight, so I don't know if we'll go over there to see them tonight or not. I'll try to have pictures for you eventually.
Well... I think that about wraps it up for me. Time to go find something else to do.

Hey... he made her bark!
The time: 6:06 pm, Tuesday, 4 April 2006
The place: Quality Inn, Sioux City
The mood: tired, bored, hungry.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*
So... how you all doing? I'm bored. I went for a walk this afternoon before I had to get ready for work. I took a few pictures of things around town. Here you go.
Main street looking south
We've got a Bench Mark!!
And here's a little pinecone I found.
So...there's a small view of my world. A very small view.

*singing along with Talking Heads* Don't touch me, I'm a real live wire! Psycho killer.....
Well...it's Monday! I'm happy today. I don't have to work tonight! I don't have to deal with truckers tonight!!! *does a happy dance to Talking Heads music*
It's nice outside. The sun is shining. I don't know what to do with myself. I think a walk downtown to get the mail is in order. Hopefully my brother will want to go for a walk later, too. I shouldn't be sitting here playing on the computer when it's so nice outside.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, my trip around the motel last night checking rooms was rather entertaining. In the freezer of the fridge in the first room I checked, I found a bottle of tomato juice! Ick! Ended up carrying the thing around for about an hour as I finished checking the other rooms. I also discovered a couple running toilets. O_O
*imagination gets away from Kitsune and the image of two toilets with legs running around the halls pops into her head*
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, since it's almost 1:00 in the afternoon, I suppose I should find something to eat for lunch. Not that I'm particularly hungry, but I should eat something. So, I think I'm gonna take my MP3 player and boogie to the kitchen to find something to eat.
Oh yeah, there's a story part down below. For those that read it, enjoy. This one is back to the main story again. Ooh...romance is in the air?
