Whee.....
It's Thursday night. I'm tired. I am seriously considering going offline and doing something else.
My day was filled with loads of excitement as usual. I went to Walmart and got tires on the back of my car! I no longer have tires that have virtually no tread. I also had an oil change done to my car. Onigiri is happy now!
As I waited for the tires to be done, I wandered around and ended up buying Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire... the special edition. Whee!!!!
I think I will go do something else now.

If I could do it all over again, I probably wouldn't involve the monkeys....
Well then, it's still Wednesday for me. Yippee. I did laundry all afternoon as usual.
There's a bug flying around the light.
*^*^*^*^*
The total for snowfall was 9.2 inches in Sioux City. I don't know what it was here in Kingsley, but we probably got that much.
*^*^*^*^*
I haven't been in a writing mood lately, but below is something that I came up with a couple weeks ago. It takes place about 150 years after the main story I've been posting. Hikaru is living in Chicago and attending classes at a local college. I just thought I'd clear that up for any of you that read it and get a little confused.
I was trying to get a box to appear around it, but my brain cell is currently unable to process the information necessary to execute proper CSS. *sigh* Some day I'll get that figured out.
*^*^*^*^*
Well, tomorrow's excitement is going to be getting tires on my car. I need new tires on the back so bad. It's dangerous how bad my tires are. I hope my paycheck is in.

Side story....
Hikaru woke with a start as the fire alarms sounded. The suddenness of the sirens had his head and his heart pounding. It took a moment for him to realize he had fallen asleep while studying in his apartment. In the distance more sirens could be heard as the fire department arrived on the scene.
There was a frantic pounding at the door and the urgent voice of a neighbor, "Hey, Nakamura, are you in there? Come on, kid, get up. The building's on fire!" Then the sound of coughing and the slump of a body outside the door.
Hikaru opened the door and found his neighbor unconscious in the hall. He grabbed the man and pulled him into the apartment. He got the limp body over to the window and out onto the fire escape into the fresh air. The cool night air revived the mand, and Hikaru asked if he thought he could get down on his own.
"I...I think so," the neighbor said. "What about you?"
"I'm going to see if there's anyone else trapped up here. Now go."
The man grabbed Hikaru's arm. "No, you can't go back in there. There's too much smoke."
Hikaru had to fight back instinct and said, "You're right, there is too much smoke. Let's go." He climbed onto the fire escape, and the two men made their way down to the street. Hunger pulled at Hikaru as they passed the floor where the fire raged.
Once at street level, Hikaru helped his neighbor over to some of the emergency workers. "Sumimasen," he called out. "Excuse me, can you help us?"
An EMT looked up. "Sure," she said, "come on over. What happened?"
"We're from the third floor. I'm all right, but Mr. Jones breathed in some smoke." He helped the neighbor over to the EMT.
"Thanks, Nakamura, I think I'll be all right now," Mr. Jones said as the EMT started to check him over.
Hikaru smiled and turned away. He looked toward the building where the fire blazed through the second floor. The hunger was becoming unbearable. He needed to feed.
It was easy for Hikaru to slip around to the side of the building as everyone's attention was on the firefighters at the front of the building. He snuck back up to his apartment and changed into his hakama and his demon form. He flew out the window and around to the back of the building. He quickly found a window to the blaze on the second floor and entered. Within minutes, he dhad drawn the fire within and consumed it. An odd thought crossed his mind, "Hmm...tastes like chicken..."

It's gonna be a long-ass day....
Well, it's about 2:30 on Tuesday afternoon. I'm still in the motel. I gotta work at 4:00. Blah.
*^*^*^*^*
We got about 8 inches or so of snow. Maybe more. I haven't found an official total yet. All I can say is that it's very slushy out there. I wasn't going to go out this afternoon, but I had to go up to the grocery store for something and discovered that the streets are wet and slushy. If the temperature drops, it'll be a slick mess. And if the van has issues again tonight like it did last night when I had my one & only run, it isn't going to be fun.
*^*^*^*^*
I'm so tired right now, but I don't think I'll get any napping done. Blah....
*^*^*^*^*

Me and my big mouth...
Well, remember yesterday and my question about the weather? It's snowing like mad outside!!! It's almost like Mother Nature was sitting back, looking at her calendar and realized today was the first day of Spring. Then she realized she had forgotten to give us Winter. Then she decided to drop a butt-load of snow on the state of Nebraska and it's seeping over into Iowa now. I heard that Norfolk, Nebraska, got about 18 inches of snow!!! Norfolk is about an hour and a half away from Sioux City. I don't know how much snow we've got so far, but it's been snowing pretty steady since about 4:00 this afternoon and it's now just past 8:30.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, I'm at work and I'm incredibly bored. I have another 3.5 hours or so to go. I'm not the driver tonight until 11:00. Then I get to be the driver for a full hour! Whee. I hope the only run I have to make is to take Holly home. This town is really bad when it comes to clearing snow off the streets. How bad? Well, they tend to leave a pile of snow down the middle of the streets. So, if you are in one lane and need to get to a different one, you either have to change lanes in the intersections (which is not right) or you have to try to plow through the snow (which isn't easy if you don't have a large vehicle like a tank!)
*^*^*^*^*
Now my train of thought has been completely derailed. I think I'm gonna go offline now and find something destructive to do...

And the question of the night is.....
Where the heck is all the nasty weather they've been threatening us with for the past couple days? The weather forecast has been for snow to pile up from 4 to 8 inches on us. It was supposed to start yesterday. It didn't. It was supposed to start today. It hasn't. I fully expected to wake up this morning and see white stuff all over the ground. Nothing has happened!!! It's not fair. Giving us all these weather warnings and then having nothing happen. Arrgh!
*^*^*^*^*
All right. It's Sunday, just shortly after 8:00 pm. I'm at work as usual. Yippee. The excitement is overwhelming. A lady came in before with her priorities straight. The first thing she asked about was if we have a bar on site. Yes, but it's not open on Sundays. Then she asked where the indoor pool is.
*^*^*^*^*
Last night was the Night of Stupidity!
Stupid #1: the guy in the pickup that did a left turn from the left-hand driving lane so he wouldn't have to wait at the red light at the left turn lane!
Stupid #2 & #3: the two women attending the wedding reception that left their purses in plain view on the front seats of their cars! Both cars got broken into and their purses were stolen... But that's not all!!! They got upset with us because of it!
*^*^*^*^*
Well, that's about the extent of my exciting life for the past couple days. I'm gonna have to do a van run here in a little while. Woohoo! Maybe I'll see what the weather is doing.

Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow!!!
Okay... you guys win. So many of you wanted to see what my hair color is like, so here you go. A strange self-portrait. I held the camera out and snapped the picture. I think it's not easy to tell the real color of my hair from this picture, but you can sorta see it's a coppery red.
I'd show you a picture of the normal hair color, but the only one I have on this computer is awful!!!! Not showing that one at all.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, seeing as how I started this out with a picture, I'm gonna give you another one... or two maybe. This was in the back office at work one Sunday when I got to work. I had my brother bring his camera in to get a picture of it before it disappeared. I present to you.... Balloon Man.
One of the guests made him and left him for us. One of my coworkers eventually took him home for her kids.
*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, it's still Friday for me, so I can say that today my brother & I went to see a movie. We saw V for Vendetta. Very interesting, very good movie. Not at all what I was expecting. However, I can't really say what I was expecting, as I had no real clue what it was about. I haven't read the graphic novel, however, I may just have to do that one of these days.
Tonight I watched the return of one of my all-time favorite TV shows! Yes, the SciFi Channel has begun to run the new Doctor Who series! *does a happy dance* At first, I was a little apprehensive about the new guy, but after watching the two episodes aired, I gotta say I like him.
*^*^*^*^*
Hmm... so, that about covers my Friday. Time to go check out a hockey score.

Kitsune + a slightly snowy day + boredom + a box of hair dye = DANGER!!!!!
The scary thing is, the boredom set in within one hour of getting out of bed!!!! And I now have some seriously red tones to my hair. I didn't get in very evenly, so some places are redder than others. I'm surprised that my brother didn't mention anything about it, though....
I'd show you pictures, but I'm in my incredibly comfy clothes now. My bathrobe is too ratty for you to see. I will say this: at one point during the dying process, it looked like something died horribly in my kitchen sink.
*^*^*^*^*
Today is still Thursday for me, by the way. And it's one of those days where boredom threatens around every corner. It's also one of those days where I didn't eat much at either lunch or dinner and am now suffering from the munchies. I had Ritz Crackers some time ago. I had some graham crackers a little while later. And, I just grabbed a hunk of cheese.... but I still need more!!! Too bad it's about 11:30 at night and there's nothing open in this little bitty town. I wouldn't go out to get anything anyhow!
*^*^*^*^*^*
Other than boredom, nothing happened today. I did get to sites tonight. Yay!

I have experienced bliss....
...in the form of Well's Blue Bunny Swirl Sensations New York Cherry Cheesecake yogurt!!!! All that was missing was the graham cracker crust.
***
That's about the only exciting thing I experienced on Wednesday. Hmm... I want pudding now. I suppose I could go get some. Otherwise, I'm gonna sit here and long for pudding.
* * *
Okay... a couple of you guessed right about the new guy that showed up yesterday. I just can't remember who said it first. It was Kyo! Hmmmm... who would win? Kyo or Kenshin? I can't believe I just thought of that....
*^*^*^*
I'm experimenting with things to put between paragraphs. Can you tell? I kinda like that last one.
*^*^*^*^*
Here's a picture that I decided not to submit to the fanart section. It's a copy of the van mileage log from work. I did the doodle while waiting for a couple railroaders Saturday night. I named the guy Miles. The original paper went through the copier's auto-feed thingy crooked, which is kind of a blessing because I was able to complete his head!
*^*^*^*^*
As soon as I'm done here, I'm gonna submit another fanart image, so go take a look there, too.

...and looking very relaxed, Adolf Hitler on vibes....
If that subject line is offensive to anyone... apologies will be meted out as necessary. It's just a line from a silly little song called "Intro and the Outro."
***
So...how have you all been? I'm all right. Slightly bored at work again. I got called to come in at 3 instead of 4 because the girl I was supposed to work with couldn't come in. Her son has Chicken Pox!!! So, I got her shift and they had to call the weekend daytime driver to come in for my 4 to midnight! The downside to this is I don't get to drive again tonight. But the upside is I get to be home an hour earlier!!! Yeeehaaaa!!!!
***
I got my hands on the first Samurai Deeper Kyo DVD for cheap yesterday. It's used, and a thin, black line showed up in the last episode, but it played all right. My honest opinion: very very odd. I wasn't expecting the Kenyou aspect. That's not covered in the manga at all! Well, maybe not yet from what I've read. I'm only up to volume 11 for reading. (Volume 4 for owning)
So...The store where I bought that DVD also had volume 2 in their used DVDs. I'm so tempted to go get it, but I gotta resist.

Me: *hears someone creeping up behind her & turns to look* Hey! What are you guys doing? You're supposed to be keeping an eye out for intruders!
Vash: *looks guilty* Umm...
Kenshin: *glares at Vash* He was bribed with donuts.
Me: *looking at new guy* All right. Who are you?
New guy: *glares* . . . . .
Me: Won't talk, eh? *grabs sakabato* Maybe I should beat your name out of you.
New guy: *laughs*
Kenshin: Stand back, Kitsune-dono. This one will find out for you. *draws sakabato*
Me: *realizes Kenshin is much better than herself*
Go for it. *grabs box of donuts from Vash and sits back to enjoy the show*
Vash: Hey!
***
Well, that was exciting, if not random! So... who is the new guy????? Please feel free to speculate in your comments.
