   Well... we'll try this again.

I posted a little while ago and it disappeared. I got the message that the post went up, but when I went to look at it, it wasn't there! Hmm...

My Thursday was uneventful. I worked on my Japanese/English dictionary thing in Excel. That's about it. No laundry today. Whee!

Well, I apologize if anyone came across the site last night and got it in a weird layout. I was experimenting with my theme and it wasn't quite working the way I expected. I still have some work to do.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Well, it's now Thursday night. I had a relatively quiet day again. No laundry, though. I did some typing on my Japanese/English dictionary thing that I'm doing in Excel. I hadn't worked on it for a while, so it needed to be done. I still have a bunch to go on it. I'm not through my second Japanese book yet! Yeek!

Well, I don't have much else to say here. Oh, if you stopped by last night and saw my site all wacky, I apologize. I'm trying to do some work on it. I had a new background chosen, but was trying to figure out something to do for the post parts and it did some wild thing to the entire site. Needless to say, I changed it back to this one rather quickly.

I think I will finish up my email now, and maybe do some more work on my theme.

Hush, dear, don't cause a fuss. I'll have your spam. I love it.

Well, here it is... late Wednesday evening and I'm lying on the floor with the laptop. Yay! I can watch TV while online at home again! I'm watching a show called Six Degrees of Frances Bacon on the History Channel. They're trying to link the Wooly Mammoth to repairing the Hubble Telescope. Rather interesting show.

Well, I said I was going to do laundry today, and I did! Eight loads!!! My brother was amazed at the amount of laundry I did. I had so much because I had some of my parents' laundry to do, as well as all the towels and two beds worth of sheets on top of my own regular laundry. The poor washing machine is scared of me now.

Well... the only problem with lying on the floor with this thing is that I don't stay comfortable for long and I have to sit up for a while. Then my feet fall asleep and I have to change positions again.

So...that's about all the excitement I had today. I think it's time for me to finish reading my email.

Additional: Okay...here's the six degrees from the Wooly Mammoth to repairing the Hubble Telescope.
1. Wooly mammoth hunting leads to
2. Harpoons, which help in the whaling industry and the harvest of
3. Whale oil, which lights up the world until the whales start to run out and Edison invents the
4. Light bulb, which leads to the discovery of
5. Vacuum tubes, which lead to the vacuum chamber and the development of a suit that can help a person withstand the vacuum of space, thus allowing the
6. Repair of the Hubble Space Telescope.

Truly an interesting linkage of things.

Have you seen my mind? I seem to have lost it again.

Well, here it is... Tuesday evening. Work is boring. If I hadn't gone to Staples for office supplies and to Chili's to get supper, I would have had no runs... up to this point in time, which is not quite 8 pm.

My day was pretty dull before work. I spent part of the afternoon playing around with this thing to see if I can get more tunes onto my MP3 player. I just need to figure out how to get the stuff out of iTunes and into either Windows Media Player or the music manager for my MP3 player. I don't have an iPod, if that's what you're wondering. I have an iRiver. Well, it's actually my brother's. He got an iPod!

Other than that, not much is going on with me. I am more than likely going to spend tomorrow doing laundry... great heaping piles of laundry!!! Well, maybe not that much, but I will be doing a bunch of it. Good thing I don't work tomorrow, eh? I think I'll watch DVDs while doing it.

Speaking of DVDs... I was playing with FMA #1 on this thing this afternoon. I noticed a couple little cracks right near the hole in the middle of the disk. Then I picked off a couple little bitty pieces of plastic!! My disk is splitting!!! Eeek!! I gotta keep an eye on that.

I wonder if Best Buy will have FMA #3 in stock when I get my coupon from them....

Well, I think I'm going to wander away and find something a little less technical to do. Maybe I can find my mind...

   Welcome to the Rant Zone!

Yes, it's Monday and time for a cranky Kitsune to rant away. If you don't want to read this, think of happy fluffy things like ponies and puppies.

Rant #1: I was in a halfway decent mood when I got to work today. Then the boss comes up to me and says, "You, know, when someone comes to the desk and tells you that I said they could take something, you should call me and ask about it." I asked what she was talking about, and she said that on Wednesday, someone came and took some carpet that was in a room in the north building. I told her I didn't work Wednesday. Then she said it was on Tuesday and that someone paged the maintenance guy and he went to help the guy load the carpet up. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about because I HAVE NO F***ING IDEA WHAT SHE'S TALKING ABOUT!!!!! She just walked away and said something about not being able to get ahold of the guy that took the carpet. Now, I don't know who it was that said I was the one that paged the maintenance man, but I don't like being "accused" of something I had no idea that went on. Man, I hate this place.

Rant #2: My coworker has to go smoke at least once every hour in one of the back offices. I'm so sick of cigarette smoke. I sneezed the other day and my mom says, "Are you coming down with something?" I said, "When don't I have something with my sinuses?" Then she called me a hypochondriac. I let that slide and then mentioned the fact that I work three out of four days with a smoker and end up with my sinuses clogged up and hurting. She agreed that that is a problem.

Rant #3: Not really a rant, but more of an observation. My first van run today was to take one of the railroaders back to the yard. He wanted to stop for a burger and at the grocery store. Not a problem. However, while waiting for him at the burger joint, I was watching traffic and there was this car with a Student Driver sticker on the side. The asshole in the pickup next to me had to show how much "better" he was than the rest of the idiots by beeping at the guy in the Student Driver car. I was in a really foul mood when this was going on and had half a mind to flip the pickup guy off, but that would reflect badly on the image of the motel. But... seeing what my attitude on this place is, I don't think it would make any difference.

Well, that does it for the ranting. I'm sure there's more that I could rant about, but I just don't have the energy to do so.

On a lighter note, I spent money at Barnes & Noble again today! I got the latest Kenshin, a boxed origami thing, and a how to draw book. I shouldn't have bought any of that. I just look at it this way. It will cheer me up slightly when I go look at the stuff at home after work tonight.

Also... Mom & Dad left this morning at sometime before I was fully awake to head out to Maryland for at least 5 months to do their volunteer work. It's gonna be weird without them around the house, but it's also kinda nice. I can get my manga into the house easier when they're not there!

Well, off to find something else to do here. I got through all that posted today. Hmm... I still have email to read.

   I'm such an idiot!

I just closed my browser before I had a chance to hit the magic "Add Post" button!

Anyhoo... let's see if I remember what I talked about in that previous post...

Oh yeah...

Wireless Connection + New Laptop + iTunes Card + Kitsune = DANGER!!!!

I got a $15 iTunes card yesterday and just downloaded an odd combination of music. A really odd combination: the Decemberists, Dropkick Murphys, Marilyn Manson, Reliant K..... This iTunes thing could possibly become a bad habit.

I'm seriously considering going offline here pretty soon. I've been abusing this poor laptop for about 4 hours now. It needs a rest. I need to do something else, too. I got about 4 hours left of my shift here. Yippee.

Well, I do believe a theme change is imminent here. I just have to find something that I want to do to the site. It needs something... I'm not tired of Kenshin, just this layout. Hmm... *starts to think*

I hope you all had a great weekend!

   Arrrghh....

My ear hurts!! It just decided to hurt a little while ago. Stupid ear!

Thank you for the advice on the theme, Caprice! I hadn't considered that there still may be some others out there on 800 x 600. Heck, that's what I'm on if I go use the old desktop upstairs.

I really don't have much excitement to report for Friday, except that I played around more with the laptop and went to Sioux City. Whee.

Well, I still have a bunch of email to get through, so I'm gonna wander off and finish that off.

   Sweeeeeeet!!!

I got a new laptop!!!! It's a Toshiba Satellite A105! It's got windows XP and a massively huge hard drive compared to the old laptop! It's a maneater!!

Here it is:

Cool, eh?

So... that's pretty much what I did today. I went to Sioux City and got this little beauty at Best Buy. They had the best price. I think it's got something like a 60 GB hard drive. The old one had 4 GB! The chip is an Intel Celeron M and it has built-in wireless!!!!

I'm such a geek! I'm playing around with it right now. The computer, not the wireless. I'm at home and we don't have wireless here. However, I did pick up a wireless signal this afternoon when playing with this. Couldn't get anywhere with it, though.

Well, one thing I do have to consider now that I have this new laptop is working on my theme here. The nice background picture is too small for 1280 x 800 screen resolution! I may just have to put a resized picture in my CSS file.

Enough with the geekery!!! I should go to bed, but my laundry isn't done yet.

   Where did it go?

Well, if you hadn't noticed, some of yesterday's posts didn't make it up onto the blogs. According to Adam, there was a "major error that was preventing people from posting to their myO blogs." The weird thing is, my post actually was up. I made a mistake in the CSS and had to go back to fix it to make it look right. Now it's completely gone, which is a shame, because the main thing I talked about was rather amusing.

I found out today that my tax refund has made it into my bank account! I may end up going to Sioux City to look for a laptop either tomorrow or Friday. I spent some time this afternoon getting stuff off the old laptop and onto CDs so my parents can take the old one with them when they head east on Monday.

Oh... I suppose I can repost what I can remember of yesterday's "amusing" post...

Two minutes for WHAT?!?!?!

I love when I mis-hear things. I was listening to the hockey game on the radio and heard "two minutes for stripping" when the announcer actually said "two minutes for tripping"!

Well, there's the amusing part of yesterday's post. Exciting, eh?

Well, time to hit the old Add Post button!

Beat on the brat! Beat on the brat! Beat on the brat with a baseball bat!

I'm not necessarily in a bad mood... I just have Ramones songs running thru my head.

It was rather nice out today. The temperature climbed into the mid 30s. Woohoo! A heat wave!

Other excitement of the day: my brother probably got his car back this afternoon. It was finished up sometime this morning. He was in the shower when I left for work, so he hadn't left yet when I did. Duh... that was obvious!

Well...the wireless just bugged out on me again. Man I hope that my new laptop doesn't pull this on me. I still don't know if my refund has come in!!! I can't get to my bank's website! ARRRRRGGGGHH!!!!

Well, I'm gonna wander off now. I didn't get through my email again tonight. I don't really feel like reading it.... odd. I usually can't live without reading my email.
