Wait'll they get a load of me!
Wednesday night. I thought I better post before the time changes. That's about 25 minutes away.
The game was fun last night. The West Division beat the East Division 5 to 3. Here's a couple shots of game action. West is in white. East is in blue.
In between the first and second periods, there were two games of Siouxland Mite All-Star hockey! White won both of these games. I took this picture because this goalie was so cute out there. He's the same size as the net!!! And they make them play the entire length of the ice!
And finally, a picture of me. Sorry, Caprice, but you can't really see my haircut very well. I think it was you that wanted to see what my haircut looked like. If not, oh well. Anyhoo...It's me with the Holy Grail of Hockey! The Stanley Cup!!! My brother didn't want to be in the picture this time. Yep, it's the second time I've seen the Cup in Sioux City!
Today was pretty lazy. I didn't do anything I didn't have or want to do. I went over to my sister's house and burned a few CDs on her computer. Neither this old beast nor the laptop I use have a CD burner. Gasp!
My Dad woke me up at 5:30 this morning because he saw the dome-light on in my car, and when he went out to turn it off, he hit the buttons on the clicker and managed to get the remote start engaged. He couldn't figure out how to turn off the dome-light or shut off the car. I told him how to do both and went downstairs to make sure he got it taken care of. After he got it all figured out, I went back to bed for another four hours. I was having a nice Saiyuki dream when Dad woke me up! I was having a pleasant conversation with Hakkai while the other guys were somewhere else. That is so unfair. *snort*
I think that I've babbled enough here.

Drop the puck!!!
Well, I was right last night that there wouldn't be a Tuesday night post. It's Tuesday afternoon!
I just got out of the USHL skills competition. Not that I was competing, but I was watching it. Thought I better clear that up. It was kind of fun. They had the hardest shot, fastest skater and best goalie competitions. Hardest shot was 98 miles per hour out of Phil Axtell of Cedar Rapids. He's a big dude! The fastest skater was Andreas Nodl of Sioux Falls. He got around the ice in just under 14.5 seconds. The best goalie was John Murray of Sioux Falls. He let in 3 of 6 goals. Of course, you all are probably going, "WTF? What's all that mean?" Well, it means something to certifiable hockey nuts like me! :P
Well, I'm gonna go now and find something to do for the next 4 hours or so. It's 1:26 pm, and the game is at 7:00. I need to meet my brother over here at the motel so we can go to the game around 6:00 or so. Hopefully, I'll have some pictures for you tomorrow!

B**** H*** F********* has special breakfast coupons.
Isn't that special?
Well, here it is, Monday evening. I'm bored with the computer and I've not been on very long. *sigh*
I guess final gloating rights go to me, as the Steelers won the Super Bowl. Sorry, Caprice. However, I just don't have the energy to do a full taunt. I am a little out of it.
There probably won't be a Tuesday night post at all. I'm going to a hockey game. The USHL All-Star game is tomorrow night here in Sioux City. Woohoo! I am probably going to come to town early in the day as there is a skills competition at noon. Should be cool!
Minor rant here: Remember last week when I got extra hours because the other girl that drives the van got a different job? Well, she quit that new job already! The boss made her work!!! How terrible! She got a job doing what she wants to do and then had to actually do some work!!! So, in the end, I don't get anymore hours due to her not leaving. She'll always have a job here because her mother is the general manager. Rant over.
Well. Time to finish reading email and then off to do something that may not involve a computer at all.

We have info about uson their website!
Now the question is... who are "They"?
It's Sunday evening, tomodachi, and we're bored beyond belief!!! Yes, I can hear you asking, "We? Has Kitsune lost her mind completely and started to refer to herself in the third person?" Well, take heart, minnasan, I haven't completely lost it. There's another person here. I'm at work as usual for this night. April is working with me tonight and we are both getting to be very bored. She's removing fingernail polish right now. Excitement galore!
Well, it's Super Bowl Sunday. Neither of us thought to bring a little TV so we could at least watch the game! I don't even know what the score is right now. I just want to know who's gonna have gloating rights: Caprice or me.
I should find something interesting to do. Hey...the fax machine just made the magic sound. I wonder what it could be....nope. Just a reservation thing.
I want Sweettarts!!!!

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight...
And in the town, the quiet little town, the Kitsune should be sleeping!
Yeah...I'm a bit tired. It's just past midnight now, so it's officially Saturday. Or it will be by the time I finish this post.
Wee bit of a rant here: Sioux City has a big problem. Well, all right, several big problems, but I'm gonna stick to the one that has me the most annoyed: lack of anime in stores! Yep. Sioux City has a serious lack of anime in stores. Target cut out the anime DVDs. Sam Goody had perhaps the biggest selection, but, for some reason known only to the bigwigs in charge, they closed the store!!!!! FYE has maybe a dozen DVDs total. The Leeds Wal-mart had nothing that I could find. Barnes & Noble doesn't have very much anime, either. That leaves the Singing Hills Wal-mart, which has some anime, but not a lot, and Best Buy, which seems to have plenty, but still... I want anime DVDs easily accessible!!!! Argh.
Feel sorry for me, please. I live in a smallish town that doesn't have Cartoon Network on their cable system, and the nearest "big" city has a serious lack of anime.
Thank goodness I have a lot of manga to keep me entertained.... for a while.
Speaking of manga... I think I read three or four of my Kenshin books today.
I've got more artwork stuck in my head. One is being done completely on the computer. It's an experimental piece, and I hope it turns out all right. If the beasts of burden of computers that I use had better processor speed, I'd be really putting the image through the paces! As it is, I hope to get a satisfactory image out of the thing. I'd work on it now, but I'm tired and my eyes are starting to fog over. I worked at it a bit last night, but the computer started to act wacky at me and I gave up for the night.
Hmm...for not having much to say when I started this, I sure babbled for a while. Anyhoo...I am going to meander off now. I need to get some sleep or something. Maybe watch TV or read more Kenshin!!! Who knows? I do know that my brother is going to want to get online with his computer, so I should probably relinquish the phone line.

I not sleepy!!!
What I am is mellow. I've been in a mellow mood lately, especially when it comes to music. I've been listening to some of my Ultra-Lounge CDs the past couple days. Nothing too loud or grating. Actually has been making me feel good.
I'm multi-tasking again. I'm trying to read email at the same time as doing this. It's not the easiest thing to do. Particularly when Yahoo decides to go freaky on me everytime I try to do something like delete messages!
My day wasn't all that thrilling. I did a bunch of laundry. I also started to plot something for my Mom to do in counted cross stitch. I just have to figure out how to get part of it from this computer to the other computer and then back up here to print out. I have a program that makes charts for the embroidery on the old computer downstairs. Problem with that thing is that it's not hooked up to a printer. Well, the actual problem is that it's running Windows 95! Aiee!
I should try to figure out why the pictures still won't show for my date & holiday thing up there. I should also help Benzaiten with her site again. *sigh* But I'm on the mind-numbingly slow dialup tonight, and I am getting a little impatient. I'm being spoiled by the wireless at work!

I'm pixie! I'm a pixie!
Wednesday. Work. Whoopee.
I've been hanging around doing nothing in particular. I've been out on a couple runs and that's about it. Yes, the other girl is through working here, but I don't know what that's going to mean for my schedule. All I know for sure is that I have tomorrow and Friday off. I hope I get some more hours out of this.
I also hope that I hear from that guy in Omaha that I called about a job down there.
I think the geese are confused. I saw two flocks of them heading north today. It's way too early for them to be returning to the north! That tells you how screwy the weather has been here. It's supposed to be in the 50s again tomorrow!
Tomorrow is Groundhog Day. If the groundhog sees his shadow, that means we get six more weeks of winter. Umm... we haven't had winter yet!
I think I'm gonna go now. I feel like being creative in a different way. A way that doesn't involve the internet.

If we weren't all crazy, we would go insane!
Tuesday night at the motel. I've been out with the van once. It's not busy here.
The weather is bizarre. It's raining. It's January!!! It should be snowing. Maybe there is something to this "global warming" we've been hearing about. I just worry that the summer is going to be hotter than hell.
I have to work tomorrow! The other girl that does the driving got a different job and I get some hours back. Maybe I'll get five days a week again. Maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt...
As you can tell, I'm in a slightly weird mood. I've got an earache and I think it has affected my brain. I just watched the wireless signal disappear and reappear. Isn't that special? I wonder why it does that. I never get as fast a connection when it comes back as when I start out. Ha! Listen to me complain about slow signal speed on wireless!!! Wahahahahahaha!!!
I visited everyone that had updated by 9:15 pm CST today. I'm so proud of myself. Now I'm going to shut this little beast down and do some more writing or work on my kanji. But before I do that I have to do some stuff with my flash drive. I'm such a busy little Kitsune!

I'm an airplane!!!!!
Hmm... Sunday evening... 6:55 pm... The mood: sedate.
Last night something happened that has never happened to me before. I got pulled over by a sheriff car! I wasn't speeding. I was actually doing only 55 in a 65 zone. It was very foggy last night after work, so I was driving only 55 to be on the safe side. I was pulling into the town south of my hometown and there's a couple curves on the highway just before town. I tend to go into the left lane (it's a 4 lane highway) on those curves so I don't feel like I'm going to go off the road and down the hill into the gulley and disappear completely. As I'm going around the curves this car is right up behind me. I'm saying to myself, "Does this guy want to go around me? Is he gonna turn at the 4-way stop, too? What's this guy's problem?" I start my turn into the town and the lights start flashing. "Great," I think, "why's this guy pulling me over? I wasn't speeding. Maybe a taillight is out." Well, the guy comes up to my car and blinds me with his flashlight... and starts grilling me about where I've been and where I'm going and if I'd been drinking. I told him I was on my way home from work and don't drink. He was worried that I was drunk because I went across the center line on the curves!!! He took my license and registration to run it. (No other tickets on my record, except maybe that one in Sioux Falls that was actually my nephew's fault!) He came back and gave me a verbal warning. I don't have insurance on my car.... oops. He really was kind of nice about the whole thing and asked if I had been to the hockey game last night because of the hockey stickers in the window of my car. I said I had been to Friday's game. So had he.... but he didn't get a Coach Siciliano bobblehead!
Anyhoo... Long story short: no ticket and I got to talk to a cute sheriff guy that likes hockey.
Speaking of hockey.... a guy that was sitting a few rows in front of us at the game Friday was escorted out of the building by the police. It's probably because he stood on the boards during the Chuck-a-puck thing in the intermission. He was drunk and rather proud of the fact that he was escorted out by the police.
And again... I was watching the police and one was kind of cute. But...neither him nor the sheriff guy are as cute as the one policeman that works the hockey games down in Council Bluffs at the Mid-America Center!!!
Must be the uniforms....
Oh... I almost forgot. My Dad got to come home from the hospital today. He's still coughing a lot, but he looks so much better than he did Thursday. He looked better Friday already, but looks even better today. I was so happy to see him home.
Well, before this thing loses connectivity one more time, I do believe I'm going to wander off.
It's been surreal!
